Zia Drelix was a male Aqualish who served as an officer in the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars, having formerly worked as a mercenary for the Hutt Cartel.

Early career[]
Born on the Aqualish home planet of Ando, Drelix left it to explore the galaxy and worked as a mercenary, like many members of his species. He eventually came under the employment of the Hutt Cartel. Drelix became a skilled marksman and quite knowledgeable with explosives during his time working as a mercenary, going on missions as a hitman for the Cartel. However, around 32 BBY, Drelix left the Cartel to work for a group that offered to pay much more: the Trade Federation. He joined the Federation's droid army and was given the rank of captain due to his experience. He commanded one of the droid formations during the invasion of Naboo, Army B, during an assault on a base of the Royal Naboo Security Forces. His forces were ultimately defeated, but the Aqualish himself survived, killing several Naboo fighters in the process.
Drelix retreated with the surviving Trade Federation forces from Naboo, and resumed working for the Hutt Cartel upon the disbandment of the droid army. The Cartel accepted him and he carried on with his job as a hitman of sorts. However, in 23 BBY, the Aqualish soldier of fortune was once again called upon by the Federation. But this time, it was not just the Federation, but a whole Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Neimoidian official that contacted Drelix told him that a "galactic revolution" was inevitable and said that the Aqualish had an opportunity to take part in it. He did not particularly care about the revolution part, but Drelix was, as always, lured by the promise of a large payment. He joined the Separatist Droid Army and was commissioned as a captain, the rank he held in the Federation droid army.
