Yeah, the artificial gravity's gone and its getting reeeally cold in here...
—Zar Protiv

Zar Protiv was a legal native of Sulon, but he was born in space. The son of freighter pilots, Zar spent more time in artificial gravity than natural, and he preferred it that way.

Possessing a keen aptitude for electronics and computer systems, Zar was a talented slicer as well as a droid programmer and builder. His general dislike of authority kept him from working in a lucrative private sector or governmental job. Self employed, Zar resided on Citadel 7, where he operated a small courier service. He also supplemented his income by slicing into Imperial and underworld bank accounts.

Personality and traits[]

Zar was quick witted and sarcastic, but tended to defuse potential conflicts with his sense of humor and general good nature. He was always ready to help out people in need, be they friends or complete strangers.

Zar had a cognition enhancer implanted in his brain. This device helped speed up mental tasks, as well as giving him better than average reflexes. The device also translated droidspeak so that Zar could understand it.

Even though Zar preferred to negotiate or befriend potential opponents, his enhanced reflexes made him an exceptional gunfighter and pilot.

Starships[]

Zar had three starships, each with various capabilities:

The Grey Ghost was medium sized skiff, that was outfitted with sensor-masking hull plating and various scavenged ECM devices, making it nearly invisible to sensors. In case these failed, the Ghost was also extremely fast in realspace as well as hyperspace, capable of making .75 past lightspeed. A single laser turret and a concussion missile launcher were installed as a last resort.

The Monkey Lizard was a small shuttle, which looked as if it was on its last voyage from the outside, but inside three R2-type astromech droid brains constantly calculated possible hyperspace jumps. A high-yield capacitor held enough power for a single emergency hyperspace jump. By combining these, the Lizard was able to escape within seconds as opposed to the several moments it takes a normal ship to power up the hyperdrive and calculate a safe jump vector. Zar used this ship when he needed to hide in plain sight. The Lizard was also able to remote detonate the capacitor with a destructive power exceeding a half dozen proton torpedoes.

The Far Ranger was Zar's largest ship and a recent acquisition. The slowest ship of Zar's, with a standard Class Three hyperdrive, it required a small crew to operate. A stock Action VI, it has space enough to carry the Grey Ghost in its main cargo bay.

Droids[]

Zar had built his first droid as a child, and had not stopped repairing or creating droids as an adult. His three favorite droid partners were P2-K7, a rebuilt and augmented slicer droid, and Kun, a rebuilt combat droid. Kun acted as Zar's muscle. Larger than a Wookiee, Kun could fold up for travel aboard the Grey Ghost. He was heavily armed with blasters and micromissiles, as well as a hidden Ion cannon.

Another droid, R2-K3, nicknamed "Shady", was a matte black astromech that helped Zar with copilot and navigational duties on the Grey Ghost.
