Yodatine, after his "accident"
Yodatine, also known as Darth Olivicious, was a male Little Green Critter born in 891 BBY on Vithiraos.
Yodatine's true name was known to few. The nickname "Yodatine" was given him centuries after his death in the memoirs his older twin brother Yoda wrote while in exile on Dagobah. The name was meant as an insult comparing Yodatine's personality to Palpatine. Yoda found it too painful to write his brother's true name.
Yoda and Yodatine were born to the marsh farmers Yicot and Yortni. The year after their birth, Vithiraos was raided by pirate/slavers, and numerous marsh farmers were captured. However, when the pirate vessel was captured by a Galactic Republic Stat-class corvette, the slavers vented the captured L'g'c's into space, including Yortni and Yicot. Yoda and Yodatine, being children, had hidden and small, closed-off spaces, and survived. The Republic rescuers found Yoda, and sent him to Coruscant, but they did not find Yodatine. Yoda believed Yodatine to be among those vented into space. In truth, Yodatine was found by Darth Pennek, who took him as her apprentice. Yodatine took the Sith name "Darth Olivicious." Although Yoda later learned his brother had fallen to the dark side, he never discovered that Yodatine was a Sith, nor learned his "Darth" title.
In 878, Ambrose Ius, Luna Estrella, and Yoda slew Darth Pennek on Tatooine, not realizing she was a Sith. Yodatine swore revenge on the Jedi for killing his Master.
In 831, Yodatine attempted to take over Endor, holding Ewok children hostage, and leading an army of Little Green Critter Replica Droids. Yoda, Zudu, and Zorith defeated the droid army but failed to save the hostages. Yoda at last learned his brother was alive.
The following year, Yodatine hired Kamelopardian mercenaries to take over the world Cuzterthd. There they kidnapped and brainwashed Ambrose Ius's wife (Aryana Loit) and children. Yoda, Ambrose, and Zorith freed the family, and the planet, from Yodatine. In a freak accident, Yodatine was horribly mutilated, resulting in a disfigured appearance which the Jedi compared to a green rubber chicken. As a results of his injuries, he was forced to adopt the use of a peg leg.
In 800 BBY, Yodatine backed up the G'ye Cult on Beroutz with resources and technology, while his apprentice Jantrek supplied the Cult with monsters. He hoped to use the Cult to gain control of the entire Thisspias system.
The following year, Yoda, Yiba, Ambrose, and Zorith destroyed one of Yodatine's well-armed deep-space facilities, Tirnod Station. The station's explosion resulted in the death of Yodatine's apprentice, Jantrek. Yodatine was forced to take on a new apprentice, Darth Utini. However, in 793 BBY Utini also was slain, and the next year (792 BBY) Yodatine took on as apprentice Darth Sarait, with whose help he took over Tabponia before year's end.
In 784 BBY, Yodatine turned Gimerhead Ius to the dark side. Gimerhead tried to kill his father, Ambrose, but was killed by his own mother, Aryana Loit. At the same time, Zorith saved the Queen of Colla IV from being assassinated by Yodatine.
Before his mutation, Yodatine wore at times either Firlanos battle armor or Invimasque armor equipped with a Big Unholy Mama Shaak Gun. His personal starship was a Sith Gimertrator.
In 781 BBY, Yodatine and Darth Sarait led the Tabponians and Dirnaevrians in the Tabponian Raid on Coruscant. They took over the Supreme Chancellor's skyhook, murdered most of the Jedi High Council, severely damaged the Jedi Temple and Senate Rotunda, and kidnapped the Jedi Kimdra Kel-Ton and Renee. Yoda, Ambrose, Zorith, Supreme Chancellor Teriben Hadsok, and other heroes managed to infiltrate the occupied skyhook. In a moment when caught off guard, Yodatine was eaten by Chancellor Hadosk.
Behind the scenes[]
This character's name is a combination of "Yoda" and "Palpatine." The name "Darth Olivicious" is based off the words "olive" (referring to his green skin color) and "vicious."
