Xero Heng, born Xero Kessler, was a youngling and the child of Salvor and Tatianna Kessler, though was unaware of being stripped of his former surname "Kessler" when taken to the Jedi Temple.

Early life (32 BBY—29 BBY)[]
Born on Itari, a planet located on the outskirts of the Inner Rim Territories, Heng was the child of Salvor and Tatianna Kessler. Immediately after his birth, two Jedi on the planet—Tainer Croft and Drosk—were alerted of his existence through the Force, and were ordered by the Jedi High Council to bring him to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant as soon as possible. Stripped from the hands of his parents, Heng was taken to the Temple. His last name was changed to "Heng" and his rosy skin tone was altered through the Force to help conceal his identity.
Heng began his training as a youngling at the Temple just past the age of three, though was allowed ample time to familiarize himself with the Force on his own while he waited with Tainer Croft. Placed in the Anju Clan, he there met Shiya Dar and Fahna Sill, both of which roughly the same age as Heng.
