[edit] Biography
[edit] Birth
Warrick was born to Zell Coo-Neo and a Mandalorian woman in 24 BBY. He was born on Mandalore. His father died in 23 BBY in the Coo-Neo Crisis, a full year after his birth. Warrick grew up immersed in the Mandalorian traditions and society. When he was three years old, he was told of his father's death, from his mother. That same year he was given up to her brother to be trained in the art of war, like most Mandalorian children.
[edit] Early life
He received his own set of armor, complete with all the usual refinement: Flamethrower, whipcord, jetpack, and helmet, when Warrick turned ten years old in 14 BBY. By this time the Mandalorians had long ago been contacted, and involved with a secret Jedi project; it also marked 3rd year since the Human Imperium took control of the galaxy.
The Mandalorians were forced into rounding up defenseless and innocent aliens and non-humanoids, despite it going against their creed and not having a choice to accept the task. Warrick was forced to participate, though the Imperium granted all Mandalorians Criminal Immunity and Qualified immunity, which prevented them from being round up and sent to camp themselves, they were also protected from persecution due to their Human heritage. A war between the Human Imperium and a Rebel Government broke out right after the Imperium declared the agreement official.
In 11 BBY, he was given freedom, because he was now considered an adult in Mandalorian Culture. He left his training and started to travel the galaxy as a bounty hunter for the rebel government that was undermining and fighting the Imperium. He vowed to prevent himself from being controlled by the Imperium like his homeplanet did.
[edit] Bounty hunting
From 11 BBY to 7 BBY Warrick made a career as a bounty hunter. Unlike most freelance bounty hunters that worked for specific crime bosses, or to the highest bidder, he chose to take on government contracts almost exclusively, and he took on the contracts of a rebel government, that opposed the Human Imperium. He did occasionally take contracts to hunt down criminals and citizens in massive debt, but he liked to stick close to what the government had to offer, especially since it paid the most financially.
He took contracts to hunt down Imperium slavers, and war criminals that murdered POWs. He specifically liked to hunt the higher ranked members of the Imperium military, because he considered them "insecure cowards that hide behind a shell of an army."
Though he was employed as a bounty hunter, he had an agenda behind his profession, he was one day hoping to meet Scott Borek, the person that his mother and many members of the media dubbed as the killer of Zell Coo-Neo (though the reports were proven false in the private sector).
He met Borek in 7 BBY during a meeting to recruit the Mandalorian forces to fight with the rebels and re-establish a Republic based government, in exchange for complete amnesty and recognized sovereignty away from the Republic. He confronted the Jedi and threatened to fight and kill him. Scott was able to talk him down from those threats and prove to him that he did not kill Warrick's father. McQuarrie relented and vowed to fight for the Republic.
After the war was completed, he was recruited as a government liaison to the Jedi Order, he would contact and communicate with the Jedi Order for the Republic.
[edit] Weapons and armament
Warrick carried dual Westar-34 blaster pistols, he used that as his primary protection throughout his formative and sub-adult years. He had a pair of wrist gauntlets, one as a flamethrower, and the other housed an all-purpose whipcord and blade. He carried a jetpack, on his back, equipped with a missile. The last weapon he carried on a regular basis was his lightsaber, which he used as his regular defensive, and offensive weapon during his adult years when he was trained as a Jedi.
He was one of the few Jedi to forgo the Jedi robes and use his Mandalorian armor, despite its unpopularity in the Jedi ranks. He wore a helmet equipped with a T-shaped visor with polarized lenses that cut down on sunlight glare, and explosive glare. It also had infrared and night vision which gave him the advantage in many fights and duels. The helmet also had a scanner and information relay built in, that could be lowered over the visor when information was necessary. He wore traditional Mandalorian chest plate armor, shoulder armor and leg armor. A navy flight suit and navy boots protected his body from the elements. He wore dual blaster holsters for his Westar's, and a utility belt that housed many useful things like food packages and a comlink, it also sported a lightsaber hilt holder.
[edit] Behind the scenes
The last name of Warrick McQuarrie is a tribute to Ralph McQuarrie the artist responsible for the look of Star Wars in the Original Trilogy and for the look of Jurassic Park, the favorite film of the creator of Warrick McQuarrie.
Warrick's name went through many changes, from switching names with Wade Var Darkmoon, to several variations of "Rhen" Var McQuarrie, and finally to Warrick McQuarrie. He now has no trace of Rhen or Var in his name.
Warrick is meant to be the resident Mandalorian involved in I'm the Chosen One's series, as well as one of the token bounty hunters. He was originally going to be the founder of the Gray Paladin's sect of the Jedi Order, a Star Wars faction that upholds the Jedi traditions less strictly, uses blasters and wears armor; opting to forgo the requisite use of lightsaber and Jedi robes as their primary weapon and garments. This changed once Star Wars: The Force Unleashed was released and allowed the use of Jango Fett as a modification to the original game. (It allows there to be an existing image of him with a lightsaber)
