Vestara Khai Skywalker, nicknamed Ves, was a Human female, born to Sith Saber Gavar Khai and his wife, Lahka Khai, on the planet Kesh. She would later marry Ben Skywalker and became the mother of Owen Skywalker and Mahara Skywalker.

At some point in 50 ABY and during the Fel Empire's establishment on Bastion, the galaxy began to face a new crisis, in which the First Order, a faction of the Galactic Empire sought to restore order to the galaxy under the leadership of Supreme Leader Snoke. The First Order's plan was to rid the Jedi and the Sith and use an additional race of powerful Force-sensitive warriors known as the First Knights. While Snoke and the First Order had conquered several planets to enslave and search for planet that any Jedi or Sith were on, Vestara was pregnant with her first child and was expected to give birth very soon. When Senator Charr of the Confederation Senate arrived to Shedu Maad to ask for support, she was among the Jedi that left the planet and ventured to Corellia to provide their support against the new threat.
As the Confederation was at the brink of war against the First Order, Vestara was deeply disappointed that the Galactic Alliance, which was now led by Chief-of-State Lanever Villecham, was too reluctant and did not wish to help the Confederation since a number of Senators and the Chief-of-State was wary of risking war with the First Order and wanted to open peace negotiations in preventing the war from happening. This came to be that Vestara would never trust politics in a way that could restore democracy. While helping her new family and the Confederation Military, which included the Confederation Fleet, Vestara would learn from Leia Organa that a Force-sensitive user named Kylo Ren, was known as "Ben Solo" and that he was the son of Jonah Solo and nephew of Han Solo.
