Although you cant beat Alpha-Ø4, I believe Krad Erron can beat Dan Eardornn. When Alpha-Ø4 wins this Sunday and is put on the list, your article and the Dan Eardornn article will be the main two articles running. You need to ask people to view your article and vote for it, that is how my Trask Onasi won. So do that to win ASAP. --User:Jango Fett

Holo ThreaterEdit

Yeah I saw, and for the video, you can do it yourself by doing this. Making the link to the movie like this,

User:Darth tader/HoloTheater/TitleofMovie, have a blue background and a warning if it doesn't follow the PG rule, and give me a link to it and I will make an image for the title of it. Or Give me the video and I can do it. Darth taderMandalore clan 19:48, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

k i love the image, can you put it on the holotheater i am on the line with Xbox support and my hands are tied. Darth taderMandalore clan 20:20, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

I love the re-write and the image, I should try to make it more commnity like. So when users want a video they ask me I, I watch it approve of it, then put it on it's own page. Well thanks. Bye. Darth taderMandalore clan 01:34, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Star Wars GalaxiesEdit

Don't resubscribe if your expecting it to play like it did. I'm still debating on whether or not I'm going back. Alot of the old guys I played with quit, and they've changed so much since I stopped (expertise is almost done...) Plus Jedi just get looked at like wusses (I'm a jedi AND a BH on my main server) and roleplaying is pretty much dead... Its looking grim... Swerto sig | talk to the Swerto | What I've Done | 15:55, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

  • It depends... some things about it totally suck... like you are pretty much stuck with one type of profession and there are only nine now... I miss pre NGE but some people I know miss pre CU (didn't play pre CU didn't have internet then). Yeah alot of people quit thats the biggest problem. It left the Empire totally outnumbered by the 400 rebel Jedi... which pisses me off to this day. My character is one of the most orriginal on that server... man I miss roleplaying. RP totally died about January last year... and it tried to get back up but fell down and died again...

PVP is the only thing worth doing but SWG lags too much... only thing out there worth playing right now is WoW or guild wars... maybe planetside if you like shooters like me. But SOE needs to fix SWG big time... and I mean MAJOR overhaul.. do it like it should be done... If I was in charge... that game would be the best one out there... I do not tolerate laziness in the making of games!!!Swerto sig | talk to the Swerto | What I've Done | 16:00, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

You played SWG too? I was on the Wanderhome server and had two characters. Deanjd Lake and Latowi. I was in the guild -NR-, so I named my SWF account after it. The NGE sucks bad now, pre-NGE was great. Good times. Glad I quit. -NR- 17:53, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

RE:Journalist ArticleEdit

I saw your article on Tader's page. It was awesome! No kidding, very well done. I hate to spoil everything, but I'm not positive it will go in the first issue of CUSWFN =[. Because the CUSWFN Template is mean for 6 articles, and we already had 6 articles. Now, Taders the person you need to ask to make sure about it, but I think he only wants 6 per issue, and if thats so, it would go in Issue 2. Still, when Tader reads the article, he may want to replace his 'ad' for MPTG for your article (it really is good!). And there's always a chance of simply putting 7 in an issue (I like things being symmetrical, but he may not care as much). The better the first issue, the better (=]). Anyway, I really do hope it gets in, and sorry to possible be the bearer of bad news. Sign my guestbook please Smile! S. phobia MY ears... mouth... eyes...

I love it, don't worry I will have as many stories as I want, they are both excelent, and what we need to get a kick start, it will be in tommorow, tommorow night I will make the final thing. Well I'm off to bed, ddi kareoke all night long and i'm now just dead. So yeah, love it, nice with the pictures, makes it more alive. Darth taderMandalore battles 03:13, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

  • As I stated briefly before, I'm all about symmetric and symmetricy. For me, I would want everything equal...but thats just me. Again, love the article. S. phobia MY ears... mouth... eyes...

Order of Sovereignty Edit

First off, you could change the infobox because that one is really messy (not your fault, but you could find a better one; if there is not one that fits the needs of teh article let me know so I can create/modify one), secondly, you shouldn't have the years in the titles by themselves; it should be: ==History==, and then you put a title, for example "Beginning of the Order (20 ABY–30 ABY). Now, I believe there are too many images, because the article is really cluttered together. Another thing is the image with the caption "The Mestaruus-Class Star Dreadnought" is WAY too big, need to be sized down big time. Lastly, the "Behind the Scenes and Inspirations" should just be "Behind the scenes". Thats all for now. --Victor (talk) 00:51, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

That's all good and done. Let me find the religion infobox and edit it in a sec. --Victor (talk) 02:33, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

To help you out, instead of typing out <small>Content</small>, you could use the template that automatically does it for you, like so: {{c|Content}}, which would produce (Content). --Victor (talk) 04:47, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Volume VI - November 4, 2007

Hello, Xepeyon, and once again, the CUSWFN comes to greet you at your doorstep, for November 4, 2007!

Whats Up?

  • Taders Back = CUSWFN's Back! After 2, 3, 4 months of me being gone, I know it was tough, but I'm back, and everythings going to be fine!:P I was gone for multiple techincal reasons, personal reasons, bored of wikia(never said that one before), and Halo 3:P Well I have decided that everything is back to normal, that I should return to my SWF Journalism, to report all the news, facts, and updates to keep you, yes you, updated on all the SWF knowledge there is!
  • CUSWFN Updates! Well seeming the 'ol gracious, extrodinary, ultra-fantastic, can't-live-without, CUSWFN has returned it's time to give updates, and try to get some intrest in it. Well first of all, being gone for a long time, I also noticed many other had left to Reforms, banning, fights, other people leaving, got bored of SWF:P, and had other issues, I would like to know who still is here that was part of the old CUSWFN team,(Shadowphobia?), just so I know who I have to work with. But besides that, new updates, I plan to make the CUSWFN for now a simple 1 paged template, instead of that many linked thing we had, It was so hard to set up, took hours! But once we get more stories I'll divide this up to categorized pages. Uhh, submissions for the CUSWFN is welcomed by anyone, please keep it SWF related, or a major Canon news update, and please keep voting, or recently discussed proposals at a Neutral-Point-Of-View please. And anyone interested in getting one sent to you please request it here.
  • Nothing Else There will be more Whats up soon, cause how can you have a SWF whats up, if you been gone for 4 months looking for the Ark of the Covenant:P

Local SWF news

  • It's not the latest, but hey, to me it is! Well looks like the Critic's Lounge is up, looks to me the latest instalment of SWF, Also it looks like the DL/HP swap is still undergoing. And the ever lasting big red lettered notice about having your articles undeleted(don't request it, unless it's a signifigant article that you wrote). And new FA news,(looky above to checky iy out!)
  • FA/GA News! This weeks Featured Article is Battle of Bestine IV, and this weeks GA is Ada Karr, go check 'em out, and don't forget to vote for new FA's and GA's, your vote counts, and is needed.

CUSWFN againEdit

Hey, okay for the CUSWFN thing, just write the Artcile and give it to me(no categries or on seperate pages, not doing that any more), and if you have any pics send it with the story. I'll read over it and if it's okay(It will be probally), I'll add it to the main template. Well any other questions, just ask. TaderTalk 19:35, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Got it. Here's it's link. Star Wars: Vector Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 19:43, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
    • Whew, long, I was looking for something shorter just to posty on the main template, but that doesn't count, it was awesome, long, but I always love your articles, so I'll just post it on another page for it, and just so you know, it's CUSWFN V, not VII thats next:P But yeah, great job! TaderTalk 19:56, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. If you want me to, I can make shorter articles. I just try to give all the info I can, and hopefully give an interesting interview. Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken
It's fine with the new layout I'm testing right now, it's okay, I'll manage to read the rest soon, i'm busy with many things, now, and if it's easier for you, you can just reply here or at my TP, just to make it easier for you. TaderTalk 20:08, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
No, that's ok. I always reply on both talk pages. Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 20:11, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

If you want you can turn the new CUSWFN article you made now to go with issue V? but it's up to you. TaderTalk 19:59, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

No, I was really busy this week, and I think I'm going to make it every other week(or every 2 weeks, whichever is easier to understand), so I believe that would work for now, and that new article you made, I can add it to the Volume V edition, it's up to you. TaderTalk 02:45, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

You can add both of my articles. Here they are. 1 and 2 Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 03:01, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
  • Hey thanks a lot for letting me use that, they were all really good, I added a bit at the end, you can read it, it's at the bottom, don't make it put any pressure on you, I wrote it to make the community look at you, inspirate them to write an article, and also to let you show off your work:P Well yeah, keep up with it, I should have it all finished by Sunday night or Monday afternoon. TaderTalk 03:30, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Wow! Thanks for the honors! Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 03:35, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
  • You deserve it, just keep up with the hard work, well I'll see you around, your welcome, bye! TaderTalk 03:37, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Okay, that would be fine, once that is done, I'll update the SWFNews, tidy it up, and we'll be good for this edition, well I need to head to bed, but I'll be on tommorow, well night! TaderTalk 03:58, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Xepeyon, and once again, the CUSWFN comes to greet you at your doorstep, for November, 2007!

Main Article

Star Wars: Four—Way Vector

Well, well, well... So they've finally done it. The dream of all Star Wars comic book fan has come true. That's right: there will be a four-way chronological crossover for the comics, going from Knights of the Old Republic, to Dark Times, then to Rebellion, and finally to Legacy, with (as stated in a thread at Dark Horse.com) each of the chapters essentially being self-contained. As a little treat, this series will be written in yet another different manner than usual. According to MattBrady at Newsroom.com, it will be written in a style “similar to Civil War in its scope and style,”. Like any other issues, the series will be published by Dark Horse, and will include the writers John Jackson Miller, author of the Knights of the Old Republic comic book line and John Ostrander, author...(read more)

He later helped out with other thingy mi bobs, then he kinda never responded to my messages, he said, "would friday be okay?", then he didn't respond for a month or so:P But enough of that crap, well he would be the Number #1 contributor of CUSWFN, he writes many very long, but exquistit articles, I love them all, and so do you. Well Xepeyon's best article I have seen is E.C.H.O. Visor, read it, it is also an FA. Also Xepeyon has won two Second Wiki Award Awards, and has won UOTW for April 22 to April 29. Well thats Xepeyon, catch him around, send him a message, write a CUSWFN ARTICLE!!!:P Well, I will see you all around!

HP ElectionsEdit

Looks like most of the nominees are getting negative votes, so I was thinking of nominating you. Would you be interested in being an HP? Dexington 00:47, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

  • I am, and thank you for the nomination.--Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 17:32, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

CongratsEdit

  • Congrats on becoming an HP, Xepeyon. Good luck with all your reviewing in the future. --Victor, Sr. HoloNet 209 05:23, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

GA ReviewEdit

When you get a chance, please see the GA Review and put in your input for all articles that didn't reach FA status. Dexington 04:08, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Just a note, articles don't need to have appearances. That's only if they were in the author's book or a game or something like that. Dexington 16:01, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
  • Lol, whoops! I clean that up.--Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 16:04, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

ClarificationEdit

Sorry about not explaining my opinion of the RAIF article. I was not online long enough to see your query.

To clarify my statement that the Rebel Alliance Intelligence Faction is far-fetched, as I put it, I don't see how the Rebel Alliance could possibly acquire such highly advanced equipment and training. Armor that can withstand orbital bombardment? Incineration sniper rifles? Squads designed for battling "small-sized army battalions"? In "real" Star Wars, when is there ever armor that gives effective protection from a single laser bolt? The Galactic Empire, which has virtually unlimited resources (that can build about a dozen superweapons not counting the Death Stars) can't get this sort of technology, but the Rebel Alliance can? This kills the article's believability for me, which is what split my vote.

Again, sorry for not clearing this up earlier. -MPK 18:51, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

  • Ah, I see. It's just the general idea of the article. I agree, it's something that the Rebels in "real" Star Wars couldn't do. But then again, that's why this site is called Star Wars Fanon.

Armor that can survive a bombardment isn't too out of the ordinary. After all, the powered exoskeleton is made of metallic ore, and the comics (example, Crimson Empire) often show ruins from bombardments or explosions (example The Glove of Darth Vader), which is evidence that strong substances can withstand high degrees of damage. Many times, when they show bodies, their clothes are even still intact. I think you misunderstood me, however. I simply tired to state the durability of the armor, not trying to say the soldiers would survive the bombardment itself. Incineration/Disintegration sniping rifles are already in Star Wars Canon, and are in several Star Wars games (the Jedi Knight series and an incarnation of it appears in KotOR I). Squads able to defeat small battalions isn't too different from what is seen in Star Wars as well. An average battalion is approx 500 men, with small battalions around half that much. We see characters, especially in games (example, Kyle Katarn, Jaden Korr and Kir Kanos) defeat enemies despite being vastly outnumbered, likely due to the "Stormtrooper effect". Kir Kanos fended off Imperial army, as he, literally alone, turned the tide in a battle with the Empire in Crimson Empire. The Empire did make quality armor that withstood blasterfire, most notably the Dark Trooper exoskeleton. Stormtrooper armor is made of Plastoid, which is used to make chairs in the SW universe, so it simply cannot compare with powered exoskeleton armor (also in Star Wars Canon) which arguments the soldiers' strength and reaction time. And that stuff wasn't new, as it was around since the Jedi Civil War era.

If you still think it's far-fetched, that's fine as opinions very from person to person, but I just wanted to show how I "justified" my article. Your reasons are appreciated, though. I wasn't sure how you disapproved of my article, so thanks for putting forth the effort to get back to me.--Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 02:06, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

NominationEdit

Hey, I know you pulled this from one category at one point, but I'd like to nominate Order of Sovereignity for Best Government in the Wiki Awards. Normally I'd just do it, but I wanted to get your permission first since you had pulled it from another category. - President Brandon Rhea Presidentialseal (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 19:59, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Sure, if you want. The only reason pulled from the Ashla organization because I didn't think it qualified to be there. It's "Grey", not an Ashla organization. --Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 20:06, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

CUSWFN Edit

Hello, I am Darth tom. I spoke to Tader about CUSWFN, and he said that it was inactive. I am now proposing to revive it, and he named you as one of the people I should speak to about it. Would you be interested in reviving CUSWFN? I would love it if you would get involved, so please reply on my talk page. Thanks! Darth tom Chit 'n' Chat 18:41, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Return of CUSWFNEdit

CUSWFN is returning! I've joined with Darth tader to bring you back CUSWFN, the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Newsletter! I hope that you enjoy the SOON TO BE RELEASED first edition. As the previous category was spelt wrong, the category has been changed to 'Recipients of CUSWFN', and I've changed this on your talk page, hope you don't mind. Grin . The first edition will be coming soon! Darth tom Chit 'n' Chat 19:50, 10 March 2008 (UTC) Thanks very much for wanting to re-join the CUSWFN team. I am Darth tom, the head journalist, and Tader is 'the Boss'. If you wish to become involved, could you write some side articles and put them into the page on CUSWFN? Only, I have the main article written, and Tader does meet a user. Apart from that, any article will do. Thanks once again! Darth tom Chit 'n' Chat 18:50, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Sure, When's the due date of the release? --Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 02:19, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
    • OK, any questions you may have I will answer at the Irc meet tonight, but just for future reference, I will be wanting all articles in by tomorrow. I won't mind if you don't do one this week, as it's late notice, but if you could get your articles to me on Saturdays please. Thanks. Darth tom Chit 'n' Chat 06:52, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Fanon Stories Edit

Hey Xep, the CUSWFN (still being edited!) can be viewed here, and please can you, if you have any articles, leave them in the right space! Anyway, I'm planning on having a Fanon Story competition, but I can't assign CUSWFN judges, as that would be granting positions, making CUSWFN a clan, making it a breach of the policies. So Brandon gave me the idea of asking the High Priests, as they already have legitimate positions. I haven't got details, as I'm just checking who will do it, but would you be willing to be a judge? Thanks. Darth tom Chit 'n' Chat 20:49, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, my daddy always told me I should read more Smile. It sounds interesting, so sure. I'll judge. --Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 16:13, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

SuspensionEdit

Hey Xep, a few of us are working on significantly changing Good Article and Featured Article requirements to help in the constant strive to gain a higher standard of quality on Star Wars Fanon. Obviously the community at large will approve or deny these new requirements when we've finished writing them, but until it's sorted out I'd like to suspend Good Article nominations and voting until the new requirements are taken care of, assuming that the majority of the High Priests agree to doing that. I obviously agree since it's my idea, but please let me know if you agree either here or on my talk page. Thanks. - President Brandon Rhea Presidentialseal (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 23:50, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

It'd be pointless to approve GAs when we're it's standards are being reconfigured. It's fine by me. --Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 01:10, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Xep, you're a great help! Grin I'll get back to you with details later. Thanks once again! That makes you, MPK, maybe Dex, Brandon (conditional) and Gnosis hasn't replied. Thanks once again! P.S. I voted for you in the UOTM, and also MPK. Darth tom Chit 'n' Chat 17:09, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Fanon Stories details Edit

OK, the judges are you, MPK and maybe Gnosis, he hasn't replied, and here's the details about the competition. OK, there will be three weeks to give in entries, I would have made it two, but I have personal matters, aka a holiday, that get in the way. So, all entries will have to be here by then. You can then have up to a week to decide on the best, the second best, and the third best, and tell me, preferably on that page so people don't see before they have to. Thanks once again for agreeing to do this! Grin Darth tom Chit 'n' Chat 11:43, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Page MoveEdit

I moved your Legions of Lettow to Legions of Lettow (Xepeyon) and made a disambig out of the original name space, since I also have Legions of Lettow (ASWS). Just giving you a heads up. - President Brandon Rhea Presidentialseal (Pressroom) (Record) 20:43, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Meet a User!

This weeks meet a user is centered around NKSCF, the Decreton Lord! NKSCF is pretty big here on SWFanon, and is a member of the Decreton Lords, the people in charge of choosing Featured articles. NK himself has achieved both User of the week and User of the month, at different time periods, and has written many fantastic articles, which include the Nathaniel Kenobi Solo series, which includes such fantastic articles as Abigaile Jade Kenobi, Darth Verraeter, and one of my favorites, Ada Karr. He's written, overall, five Featured articles and five good articles and, as well as having many hopefuls, is still writing! But the thing about NK, is that he's just so helpful! I have addressed queries to him many a time, and he's all ways been helpful enough to answer them pretty quickly. And, NK's not afraid to take positive criticism. MPK, an excellent user who I'm sure will be the subject of meet a user in times to come, wrote a review of Nathaniel Kenobi Solo on his user page. Now we all know MPK to be daunting as a review writer, and he slammed Nathaniel Kenobi Solo, fantastic article though it is, here! However, NK didn't go over the top and demand that he remove it, he just thanked him for his positive criticism, which I think is pretty fantastic! Another claim to fame, he has the most article here on SWFanon, and is second only to Squishy Vic in overall edits! So, overall, NK is just a nice guy who writes excellent articles. Well done NKSCF!

No name change

Hhello, Fanonites!

In the poll in the most recent CUSWFN, it was decided by you, the community, our loyal readers, that the name CUSWFN would remain, and it would not be changed to OSWFN. Although it is official, many users feel that the name CUSWFN has a heritage, and is well known, whereas OSWFN isn't as well known as CUSWFN. So, the name will stay as CUSWFN! Also, in this edition of CUSWFN, we have our first cartoon strip, on the CUSWFN news page, more on that inside. Personally, I think that it's good that the name remains the same, as CUSWFN is well known as a name, and has a ring to it, whereas I don't think OSWFN has that! Unfortunately, due to my being on holiday, there will not be a CUSWFN next week, which is also why this one has been distributed early. You can expect the next CUSWFN to arrive on Sunday the 13th of April, so sorry about that! But we still need your articles, so please, please, please keep writing these articles, and putting them onto this page for me. Well, that's all for now, more inside!

Meet a User!

This weeks Meet a User is centered around MPK, the High Priest! He is, for this month, currently running for the User of the Month, and good luck to him! He faces Xepeyon, another fantastic user, and it's pretty close! Anyway, onto MPK; MPK is one of the High Priests here on SWFanon, he was made an HP around December 2007, and a daunting prospect for anyone submitting a first Good article nomination! He would be able to tear any article that he believes not to be up to the standard of a Good article to shreds, and his excellent ability to review has also seen many great articles gain praise! On his userpage, he also reviews many articles and things to do with the Star Wars universe, with an excellent reviewing ability! So far, to my knowledge, he hasn't won anything yet, which is a shame, as he deserves to! However that could all change with this months User of the Month coompetitin! He first joined around October 2006, and his first article was the Battle of Korriban (Disciples of Ragnos Crisis), a pretty good article, which was originally meant to be a standalone project, but the infathomable mind of MPK soon changed that idea! His first Good article was Jaden Korr (Dark Order War), which then went on to become a Featured article, however he's still working on the Dark Order War, for which he has high hopes!

Kudeb's cartoons

Hhello, Fanonites!

OotSDooku

An example of Kudeb's work

With the new CUSWFN cartoon strip being put in for the first time last week, it was generally acclaimed quite well, however it wasn't made by anyone on Star Wars Fanon, which is a shame. However, Gyasz Kudeb has submitted an example of his work, and believes that he, biweekly, may beable to produce a cartoon for CUSWFN! However, there is still the matter of the other week, so if anyone at all wishes to submit an example of their work or a cartoon strip, please do! An actual cartoon strip made by someone here on Star Wars Fanon would be excellent. Anyone good with programs such as Microsoft Paint, or paint shop pro should give it a try; there is no way to go wrong! So please, do give it a shot. An example of Kudeb's work has been shown at the side here.

Meet a User!

This weeks Meet a User is made around Solus, the Decreton Lord. Solus first came here, to Star Wars Fanon, on the 14th January 2007 and has since risen to high places, becoming a Decreton Lord! So far, Solus has written eight Featured articles (NKSCF watch out!) and it was on the second of November, in 2007, that Solus was rewarded for his work, and made a Decreton Lord. Solus also holds the record of writing the first species articles on Star Wars Fanon, and they set the bar for all species articles that followed up, such as Cilwelli. Solus' first Featured articles was the Shapeshifters, although that wasn't his first GA! In the days when he wrote Shapeshifters, an article didn't need to be a GA first, so his first GA was Shikkri. His articles are all very imaginative, and Solus tells me that his inspiration comes from looking at a bunch of images. Wow! Just looking at a bunch of images? That's pretty good! I must say, my favourite one of his articles is his article Tulak Hord, an FA. It's interesting and written in an engaging prose. What I like about Solus' work is his tasteful use of images, and skills with programs such as Paint shop pro, on which he makes his own images, to a great degree, I may add. What I don't like is that, sometimes, his work resembles that of the actual Star Wars Saga; such as, in the article Tulak Hord, when Tulak battles Chirene in the acid station, it resembles Anakin against a mixture of Obi-Wan and Padme in Episode III. In the future, what I would like to see is Solus branching further away. However, as the number of FA's suggest, there is very little to complain about in Solus' excellent work.

Hey! Edit

Hi, I wanted to get some people's opinion on a couple lightsaber designs I made up. How do you think of a Double-Bladed Lightsaber Cane/Staff? Darth Craetor 17:08, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, I'll give you points for the attempt, but I'd have to say the concept is weak in creativity. The Lightsaber Cane is quite long—in fact, longer than the hilt of the DB Lightsaber, so adding another blade at it's end will essentially just make it the same as a normal DB Lightsaber, only with a longer hilt. Take a look at [2], and, while imagining a blade at the other end, see if it really look original to you. --Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 17:50, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey Xep, nice to meet you, I'm Joe. Anyway, even thoguh I'm not an admin, I felt it necessary to give you a heads up for the admins: Echolocation hasn't been categorized properly. Thanks. Obi Maul12(Meet a Warrior)(talk to me) 20:41, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Then what would be a good lightsaber design? Darth Craetor 21:57, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

How about a light-grenade. Its a grenade that uses the same energy as lightsabers. When it blows up it literally destroys everything in it's radius. Darth Craetor 22:16, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

You need to properly source your images in accordance with the new Image Policy, and this includes Image:TempleofCellannor.PNG. You need to give a link to the image on DeviantArt and give the author's name in the "Author" field. If you don't know this information or for some reason cannot find it, you must state in the source field why you are unable to locate the information. Cruentusian Project

Hhello, Fanonites!

Cruentus logo

The Logo of the project

Today, CUSWFN reveals its new project, the Cruentusian Project! The Cruentusian Project is a project established to create a large new part of Star Wars History, albeit Fanon. The Cruentusian Project is centered around the Cruentusian War, a war that's set before the Great Sith War, so, for those of you who dislike contradicting canon, you won't have to!

While the project aim is to have a sort of wiki-wide collaboration, you may choose to create an article by yourself, or you may collaborate on articles. You may also choose to allow others to create red links for you. If this idea is met with widespread agreement, then a portal will be created for the project. If you wish to become a part of the project, all you have to do is place your name in the appropriate section in the users comments page and, if (and when) the portal is made, I will place your name on the list of participants. We hope to have you with us in this project!

Project Aims:

1: Our goal is to create a minimum of three Featured articles, showing the large amount of effort we would like to see put into the project.

2: Create an extensive new and intriguing era.

3: Build a good relationship between users.

4: Most importantly, enjoy ourselves!

Please do join this project, for it will improve the wiki as a whole, and should be a lot of fun!

Era:

It's 24,299 bby; the Rakatan Infinite Empire was crippled by the disease that swept through their species, and the Empire is in dissarray. The slaves and species that were under the command of the cruel Rakatans have risen up, and the Rakatans are in full retreat back to Lehon, leaving behind only a few factions to try and guard their rear and, if possible, take back the Infinite Empire. The slaves have formed themselves into their previous species, and returned to their home planets, but disorder and havoc wreak their way through the galaxy. With no order to rule, crime and disorder is abundant. Yet from the ruins of the Infinite Empire and from the havoc that is the known galaxy rise warlords, battling for command of the Infinite Empire's former Empire. These warlords fight across the galaxy, starting what is known as the Cruentusian War...

(Please note, whoever makes the article Cruentusian War, please make it free edit so that the members of this project may make changes)

As of yet, we don't have an era icon so, if you wish to put forward an image that you think would be good, please put it on the discussion page of this page here. The candidates will then be voted upon by the community, and then the final image will be presented to the administration, and requested to be made into an era icon.

Meet a User!
The subject of this weeks Meet a User is the High Priest Dexington! Many have seen Dexington around, normally on the Good articles nomination page, however he also has written many fantastic articles himself! The author of six Featured articles, Norris Raddek, Vaskar, Filose Naj, Jar'Kata, Chapek IX and Vogga. Whilst all of these are both good and featured articles, he also has another article which knocks his GA count up to seven, however this one isn't an FA. Which article? Alexei Sudovencavic, an article I recently saw on the nomination page for good articles. Dexington rose up to the rank of High Priest just two or three months after joining, and he was re-elected in the elections a few months ago. His first of those FA's was Norris Raddek which, incidently, was also his first GA. For six years Dexington has been role-playing on various Star Wars Sites, however he's been at The Star Wars RP for quite a while, and he gets a lot of his inspiration from Role Playing. Unfortunately, however, he's retired from role-playing, so we won't be seeing, unfortunately he says, any new articles for a while!

Meet a User!
The subject of this week's "Meet a User" is the Decreton Lord, Jasca Ducato! Jasca Ducato was one of the first users who came here to the wiki, and is therefore one of the longest serving users here, having joined in June 2006. Since he's been here for a long time, he has gained a lot of experience, and he rode out the 'vandal wars' as well. He is better known by the name Darth Abeonis, his flagship article and first edit. He has achieved ten Featured articles and three Good articles, as many of his articles were written before an article needed to be a GA to be an FA. He and NKSCF were the two original Decreton Lords, the name being based upon another of his articles. In June 2007, Jasca's illustrious career peaked with being made a member of the Cabal, who were then simply administrators. Jasca Ducato also has the honor of having written the most linked to article on this wiki, the well known Sith Order of Decreto! His first FA was his flagship article, and his first GA, the Collective automated binary administration livewire. By other users, Jasca has been praised for his extensive work in the area of Sith fanon, with the Decreton Lords (the article) and the Sith Order of Decreto, and the unfinished Zao tenj War article. Positive criticism has come in the form of the idea that the article that both he and NKSCF refer to, the Scourges of Those Bad Guy People, is a bit 'cheesy', as said by some users, however Jasca has made large edits and great contributions to the wiki over the years.

SloganEdit

Written by Darth tom

Hello, Fanonites! For some time, every since it's inception, the CUSWFN has been without an official slogan. However, we're now planning to change that! An informal 'Slogan competition' has been created, and anyone may submit a relevant slogan suggestion on this page! So far, we've had Darth tader suggesting this the slogan of "CUSWFN: the only place for your SWFanon news!" However, it's far from being decided! Anyone who wishes to may submit one, and the community as a whole will vote upon them later!

In other news, last week's edition featured the first cartoon from Gyasz Kudeb, and we hope to have more cartoons from him in the future! While we do not have one from him this week, he has said he has a very busy schedule and will only be able to update biweekly or so. However, we are still looking forward to it! Also, special thanks go out to Brandon Rhea who gave us so much information for the colossal Meet a User we have on him today!

Meet a User!

Written by Darth tom and Brandon Rhea

The subject of this week’s Meet a User is Brandon Rhea, the user who currently serves as a High Priest, Decreton Lord and Administrator. The author and editor of many articles, Rhea is well known throughout the Wiki. Along with Squishy Vic, he is essentially the only full time Administrator currently serving on the Wiki, though there are many other users serving as Administrators that put in as much time as they can to help serve the members of Star Wars Fanon.

Ever present around the Wiki, Rhea first joined on August 24, 2006 and created his first article Ussej Padric Bac, though he only made three edits before he left the wiki for a time and essentially forgot about it. When he remembered about it, he returned on December 9, 2006 and has been active ever since, writing over two hundred articles as well as seventeen Good Articles, his first being Order of the Whills, and eighteen Featured Articles, his first been Bendu Order. With these two numbers, Rhea has written more Good Articles and Featured Articles than anyone else on Star Wars Fanon.

In May 2007, Rhea suggested to Squishy Vic that a group be put together to monitor Good Articles, much like the then-newly created Decreton Lords did for Featured Articles. There was a great deal of discussion afterwards, and eventually a board of members called the High Priests was created. Not only did Rhea help create the board, but the name High Priest came from the title of the leader of the Bendu Order in his fanon continuity, much like the name Decreton Lords came from a title in Jasca Ducato’s fanon stories. He was elected to the rank of Decreton Lord on July 15, 2007 and thus relinquished his duties as a High Priest. On September 1, 2007, Rhea was elected to the position of Administrator. Had Gnosis is knowledge not dropped out of the election, it is likely that Rhea would not be an Administrator. In December 2007, Rhea was re-elected to the position of High Priest when the board was going through a period of inactivity, making him the only user to be currently serving as both a Decreton Lord and a High Priest.

When writing his articles, Rhea has a variety of sources for inspiration. One of these sources is religion, and although he is a Christian he also has used elements of Judaism and Islam in his work. An example of the religious diversity is Ussej Padric Bac, whose name is a respelling of Jesus, and the element of his fanon that is Yahweh, the Jewish name for the Judeo-Christian God. There is also a great deal of other Biblical elements in his work, such as the story of The Skywalker which is based primarily on Moses and the Book of Exodus, the second book of the Old Testament. Rhea also takes a great deal of inspiration from TheStarWarsRP.Com, as many of his stories, particularly those surrounding Ussej Padric Bac and the Bac family, originated at the website. Rhea has been actively role-playing there since July 2005.

In terms of the opinions other users hold of Rhea, he is very much respected throughout the Wiki, though it is not just because of his status as an Administrator. Some users did not believe that Rhea was qualified to be an Administrator due to his initial opinions about the job, which accounted for why he nearly lost the election, but he was able to prove them wrong in the way that he has dealt with vandals and other rule breakers on the Wiki. One of these people was Squishy Vic. According to Vic, "At first, I didn't approve of him becoming an administrator, because I thought he would be too much of an inclusionist and too lenient around the Wiki with things." Eventually, however, Vic changed his opinions and acknowledged that Rhea is a "good Administrator overall" when dealing with situations on the Wiki.

As well as creating numerous articles on the Wiki, Rhea has worked extensively in the realm of fan fiction. He is the creator of Brandon Rhea's Alternative Star Wars Saga, a re-imagining of George Lucas's Star Wars, which has since merged with the Squishy Vic Series to become the overall Alternative Star Wars Saga, complete with an extensive expanded universe, rewrites of all of the films and a timeline spanning over one hundred thousand years starting in the time of The Skywalker and the formation of the Order of the Jedi Bendu of the Ophuchi. Two of the major works that Rhea is currently working on are Star Wars: Episode I - The Chosen One, which is being edited by Squishy Vic, and the recently begun Chronicles of the Great War series, which is a re-interpretation of the events of the first timeline on TheStarWarsRP.Com, though the majority of the story remains faithful to the role-plays.

Users have spoken about how Rhea's writing skills have improved over time. According to some, his novels used to be fairly dry until he received some criticism and assistance, particularly in the editing process. Rhea has acknowledged his evolution as a writer on several instances and has pointed to the drastic difference between the old drafts of some of his work and the current incarnation. He has said on more than one occassion that he owes a great deal of his improvement to Squishy Vic for editing, but particularly Atarumaster88. Ataru, an Administrator and Inquisitor on Wookieepedia as well as the author of the award-winning fan novel Force Exile I: Fugitive, was one of the few to strongly criticize elements of one of Rhea's drafts of Shadows of the Jedi: The Legend of Ussej Padric Bac, particularly with dialogue and relevant detail. Rhea dismissed this at first, but in the end he agreed with Ataru and was able to greatly improve his level of detail and his writing of dialogue. While he and Ataru have some differing opinions on styles of writing.

Rhea is a very active member on TheStarWarsRP.Com, one of the partner sites of Star Wars Fanon. He began as a Moderator on a board dedicated to uncovering the truth about SuperShadow. He then became a Global Moderator, and only a few weeks later he became an Administrator. He is currently serving as the Head Administrator of the boards, as well as the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order faction in the role-play. On TheForce.Net, Rhea is a two-time VIP for writing a guide to web hosts for the Fan Sites board and for hosting the Classic Trilogy Rewrite Contest in the Classic Trilogy board.

In his life outside of Star Wars, Rhea is currently a college freshman. He is also an Assistant Scoutmaster in Boy Scouts of America Troop 62 where he served as Senior Patrol Leader and earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest award a scout can earn. He is also a very active member of the Order of the Arrow's Sakuwit Lodge, where he served as Lodge Chief from 2006-2007. He is currently the Lodge Leadership Development Chairman, which makes him the leader of the committee designed with the idea of the leaders of tomorrow being trained by those of today. He is currently a Brotherhood Honor member, though he has been nominated for the high Vigil Honor, one of the highest honors any Arrowman or scout can be bestowed with. In Sakuqit Lodge, he was given the honor of being the Arrowman of the Year for 2007 and was given the Order of the Arrow Founder's Award. He is also the Vice-Chief of Section NE-2B, the Order of the Arrow organization overseeing the seven lodges in eastern Pennsylvania, nortern and central New Jersey, Long Island and all of Europe west of Russia.

SloganEdit

Written by Darth tom

Currently, the newsletter has yet to receive any additional slogans aside from the one created by Darth tader which was mentioned in last week’s edition. We would love to have any others that users might be able to think of. If anyone wishes to submit a suggestion, please do so here at your earliest convenience. Also, a proposal in the Consensus Track to make the CUSWFN an official part of the Wiki failed, as it was deemed unnecessary for it to become a fully official part of the Wiki.

Additionally, there is a specialist review written by Darth tom on the article Battle of Geonosis (New CIS/GDE Wars) by Troyb. This can be found on the SWF News page. In addition to this, CUSWFN is always looking for anyone who would like to write an article for an edition. Articles on your own projects throughout the Wiki are the preferred types, but general articles on Star Wars media such as the upcoming live action Star Wars television series would also be appreciated. They can be placed here as well.

Meet a User!
Todays Meet a User is C3PO the Dragon Slayer the Supreme Chancellor! C3PO is one of the longest serving users here, amongst other users like Jasca Ducato, having first joined in May 2006, but it wasn't until that June when he started editing. After joining, he became one of the first Decreton Lords, becoming one in Spring 2007, but, unfortunately, he left the Decreton Lords, after accusations of laziness, but he was also one of the first administrators here, alongside such users as the now inactive StarNeptune and Bub. In the first real election for administrative powers, C3PO gained the position of a Supreme Chancellor, a bureacrat, after a community vote. Although C3 doesn't tend to write many articles, he voices his opinion on many important matters in and around the wiki, and is ever present working upon the much looked forward to game Avian Hunt, however he has had two FA's. He is universally known as an inclusionist, and other users believe he 'balances' the administrators here. Other users have criticized his inactivity, however this has little basis, as he's always present or working upon Avian Hunt; I for one have never had a message of mine left unanswered on his talk page! We're all looking forwards to the finished version of Avian Hunt!

Meet a User!
This week's subject of Meet a User is CurrentBigThing (CBT), one of the current yet only semi-active Administrators on Star Wars Fanon! CBT has had a mostly successful past while on the Wiki, though he has had somewhat of a darker side as well. Famous for his rants and non-touchy feely ideals, CBT has helped to greatly improve the content and reputation of the Wiki through his ideals. A passionate writer and known deletionist, CBT has even been likened to Jacen Solo; willing to go to extraordinary lengths for what he believes in. He first joined Star Wars fanon around the February of 2007; around a year before me! CBT once said that one of the reasons he joined was because of how much he enjoyed the article Ussej Padric Bac II, written by fellow Administrator Brandon Rhea.

CBT has three Formerly Featured Articles and two Good Articles, and many users have lamented the fact that his time away meant that his articles fell into disrepair and were made Formerly Featured Articles because of the raised standards. His first article to achieve any sort of status was Darth Faust, and it was around June 2007 when he was invited to be a Decreton Lord. After not being able to keep up with his duties, he left the Decreton Lords, but he became an administrator on June 27, 2007. He became an inactive Administrator later, in a self imposed exile, after an unfortunate incident with another user. However, he remains an Administrator to this day.

CBT, like other users, was a big part of the Wiki's cleaning up, notably during the purge of uncategorized articles in Summer 2007. He gets inspiration from the people around him, as well as listening to music while writing. He's planning to return and become more active here, although technical restraints have confined him to quite a small position of support. He's a very good and helpful user, and has always deigned to reply to all the few messages I've left him.

Re:Odd questionEdit

Yeah, why? - President Brandon Rhea Presidentialseal (Pressroom) (Record) 20:58, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok, bear with me, because this might just be a coincidence. Yesterday, I was scanning the web trying to pick up tips on making coffee cakes for my sisters. I came to a site, and in the comments section, there was an anonymous person who's signed their name as "Rhea", and they stated that they were from California. I have the link: [3] When I saw that, I was so surprised that I saw your name there. Was that you or a relative?--Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 03:01, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

That's probably their first name. My last name Rhea is pronounced "Ray". There is a first name Rhea pronounced "Ree-ah". - President Brandon Rhea Presidentialseal (Pressroom) (Record) 03:05, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Makes sense I guess. Everyone else there was using their first names as well, but still, you can't blame me for being a little surprised at it. This was the first time I'd even heard the name Rhea outside SWF. Guess it was just coincidence.--Xepeyon You Speak, I've Spoken 03:10, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Indeed. - President Brandon Rhea Presidentialseal (Pressroom) (Record) 03:13, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Darthipedia SupplementEdit

Written by Darth tom

Over the IRC, the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter was able to convince Gonk, the founder of Darthipedia, the Star Wars Humor Wiki, to write a Darthipedia section for the news. This will continue on through the weeks and will be devoted to the going ons of Darthipedia. We are happy to hear that Gonk, the best man for the job, will be occassionally writing this section which will appear in CUSWFN News. Thanks, Gonk!

In addition to this, we also have a Meet a User with Michaeldsuarez, as well as looking at the fantastic Force Exile series, written by the literary expert Atarumaster88! This weeks Star Wars News will be packed with news, as the wiki's heaving with the stuff! We hope you enjoy this edition, and please be aware that there might not be an edition in two weeks time (not next edition, but the one after) week, due to Darth tom's personal circumstances, though Brandon Rhea has volunteered to handle it. If there is no edition, then CUSWFN will resume again after that week.

Meet a User!

Written by Darth tom

This week's subject of Meet a User is Michaeldsuarez! Unfortunately, Michael did not reply to the questionnaire that was sent to him, so this will be briefer than previous Meet a Users. The first thing that will shock you about him is that his article category contains only 5 fanonical works! You may be asking, swhy is he Meet a User? Well, if we are the cogs and machinery of Star Wars Fanon, Michael is the oil and brush, polishing and cleaning up the wiki in general. Best known for clearing up double redirects, adding categories and fixing other mess ups, he's been a valuable help to this wiki, despite not being a fanon writer by trade! He has written the Force Maverck saga, a little known yet well written saga of which his works relate. Having been here since May 18, 2007, he's made a fair few edits. 60.27 % of his edits have been completely separate from the Main Namespace, and most of the ones in the main namespace have been grammar fixes, or changes to double redirects! He really is the 'Janitor' of the wiki, and we hope his sabbatical has seen him come back and ready to help us once more!

RetirementEdit

Written by Darth tom

Retirement is not a word I release to you through happiness, and I'm not finding it easy to retire, but retiring I am. In three editions time, I will be leaving CUSWFN. Why am I doing this? To those few who knew what was happening before hand, that was the question they all asked. Well, there are many reasons. If I do become a High Priest, I will have reviewing duties, and I want to be able to think: 'Ah yes. Three hours spare so I can settle down and do a nice, long, in depth review.' And I would be reviewing those articles better because of it. In addition to this, CUSWFN was the making of me on this wiki, yet it also is a problem for me. I have only two good articles, and I feel that I can do better, and I'd like some time to better concentrate on my articles. In addition, I feel I can do the community better in different ways, and I want people to remember me in a way that says: 'Oh. He's left. That's a shame.'

I feel that if I carry on for much longer, people will get bored, and I don't want that. Will CUSWFN die with my retirement? I hope not. I have had reason to believe CUSWFN will be carried on, although by who I do not yet know. It was one of my favorite things about the Wiki, and I feel loathe to let it go, yet I must. I'd just like to thank everyone who's helped me: Brandon Rhea especially, for all the editorial work he's put in, users like MPK who wrote articles, people like Atarumaster88 who allowed us to write articles about their fanon, and users like C3PO the Dragon Slayer and Drewton who were the only users to thank me for giving out editions. There will be people I've forgotten in this list, and I'm sorry, but I thank you anyway.

The successor will be decided in the forum, and you'll also notice that there's no activities page this week. I apologize, but time constraints were too much. Hope you enjoy it anyway!

Unit 8311 is well known by many recipients of CUSWFN as, despite having no official status, and he has been a great contributor to Project Cruentus. After the fanon restrictions on Wookieepedia, Unit 8311, like many users, came to put his userpage fanon here. He enjoyed it so much, he stayed! He currently has four Featured articles, those being his namesake article, Unit 8311, Steel Legion, Club StarDust and Battle of Nar Shaddaa (GDE/Legion). His two sole Good articles are Ferd Swqaru and Star Wars: Legion Commando.

Unit’s first Featured Article was Steel Legion, and his first Good Article was his namesake. He's done a lot for Project Cruentus, and he's made a lot of contributions to the Wiki. Unit generates and expands random ideas, yet he also gets inspiration from existing Star Wars stories, and he doesn't like writing about Jedi and Sith, preferring the underworld of Star Wars. In terms of other science fiction, he's a watcher of Doctor Who, and he (real random one here) enjoys eating Asian food, according to himself. He's often been criticized for being unable to take criticism, however I feel he's improving here.

This weekEdit

Written by Darth tom

So, what do we have for you this edition? This week, the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon newsletter will become Wikia’s joint-oldest newsletter, though we will have more on that next week when we become Wikia’s oldest newsletter! We have an article on the up and coming Legacy of Rella series, and a Meet a User that spotlights Force Exile series writer and creator Atarumaster88. We also have news on the conclusion of numerous forum discussions, as well as updates on Project Cruentus.

The forums, most notably the Senate Hall, have had a lot of discussions recently, with the Senate Hall having five at the same time! In addition to this, we see the retirement of Dexington and the two users that are succeeding him as High Priests. We unfortunately are lacking a Darth Dispatch from Darthipedia this week, but we do have a new idea proposed by Arav the Undersith that you can look at. You will also undoubtedly notice that there is no Activities section again, and this is because Microsoft Paint on my computer has not been working.

Enjoy this addition!

Meet a User!

Written by Darth tom

This weeks subject for Meet a User is Atarumaster88, the author of the brilliant Force Exile series of fan fiction novels. Up until only a short while ago I had never heard of Ataru, despite being a very small-time contributor to Wookieepedia. I did eventually hear of him, and since then have heard much of his “exploits”. Ataru joined Star Wars Fanon roughly one year ago on April 29, 2007. Surprisingly enough, he has never written an article, aside from those showcasing his fan fiction novels, which he’s been working on for the past year and a half! He has over twenty Featured Articles and Good Articles on Wookieepedia, though nothing but the Force Exile series here.

Ataru has done a great deal of reviewing of other fan fiction, most notably for Brandon Rhea and Squishy Vic in their Alternative Star Wars Saga. He has also helped out around Star Wars Fanon by commenting in forums and discussions. Ataru gets a lot of his inspiration from many different places, such as images, magazines, role-playing and the loose ends of Star Wars canon. He has been told his writing style resembles that of Michael Reeves and, to a lesser extent, Steve Perry who is known for his novels Death Star and the MedStar Duology. Ataru has, ironically, been forced to ban people for fanon on Wookieepedia, despite being a supporter of the idea of fanon here on Star Wars Fanon.

Because of the numerous reviews that Ataru has done, he has been highly praised. Brandon Rhea, for example, has spoken very highly of him. When Rhea posted his second draft of the now on-hold Shadows of the Jedi: The Legend of Ussej Padric Bac, all of the reviews he was getting was lush praise. In his own words, “then Ataru came along”. Ataru was very critical in his review of the novel and the way it was written, and at first Rhea disagreed. However, he eventually realized that Ataru was correct and he was able to greatly improve his writing because of it. Rhea credits a great deal of the success of Star Wars: Episode I - The Chosen One and the anticipated success of Star Wars: Chronicles of the Great War to Ataru’s reviews of his work.

Looking at everything that has been said about him, it is hard for anyone to doubt that Ataru has had a tremendous impact on many Star Wars Fanon users. He comes highly recommended as a reviewer, though those that seek him out should understand that he has many preferences when it comes to writing that can be found on his user page.

Hello, Xepeyon, and, once more, the CUSWFN is here to greet you right at your doorstep, for June, 2008!

Record breaker!Edit

Written by Darth tom

Today, CUSWFN makes history. With the release of this edition, CUSWFN becomes Wikia’s oldest newsletter, both in time and releases, having run, and released more editions, than Halopedia’s Oracle Newsletter, with a total of seventeen editions, beating Halopedia’s 16! Today, in CUSWFN News, we’ll be taking a look at the changes of CUSWFN, the Meet a Users, the glory times, the fail times, and the good, the bad, and the ugly, to use a popular phrase.

In addition to this, we have a Media article on Avian Hunt, the game conceived and created by C3PO the Dragon Slayer, and a test version has been released, which I’m reviewing this edition, with screenshots from in game and all! The news from Star Wars Fanon features this weeks updates, as well as CUSFWN news featuring the last updates you’ll receive from me about Project Cruentus, as well as my last cartoon and crossword, which returns, as my MS Paint has decided to work once more!

As well as this, it’s poignant that, in my last edition, who should be the Meet a User but Squishy Vic, one of the most hard working but least praised users on Star Wars Fanon, and one who has helped me, as well as many others, in the past, and has never been the Meet a User before.

So, enjoy this addition!

Meet a User!

Written by Darth tom

The subject for this weeks Meet a User is Squishy Vic, the Supreme chancellor and Decreton Lord! Vic first lurked in in mid 2006, reading articles like NKSCF and Jasca Ducato, the Star Wars Fanon ‘classics’, yet he didn’t officially join until October 6th of that very year, and, since then, has written 20 articles worthy of status, ten of them being Good articles and ten Featured articles, with only three of each being only GA’s and only FA’s, the other 14 being both. Vic also holds the status of being one of the original Decreton Lords, along with Jedi Master 76 and Jasca Ducato, the others being the only other original DL’s to remain as current ones, and it didn’t end there. Vic was made an administrator, after a standard election, on April 30 2007, over a year ago, after the election began on March 31.

In terms of his work, Vic feels that Narod Antrell and his spin off articles have been his most valuable contributions to the wiki, but he’s also been involved in many cleanup articles, being an administrator like he is. Narod Antrell was also his first FA, and he also holds the record of having the first ever Good article on this site, Si'va Morrer. In terms of inspiration, Vic gets it from many sources, such as Star Wars, where we all do, such as cartoons, video games and comics. He’s opposed to the New Jedi Order series, and never will, according to himself, read it, calling it ‘Yuuzhan Vong crap’, or the Palpatine’s clones works, and he also gains inspiration from other fictional sources. These include Halo, The Lord of the Rings, The Godfather, Starship Troopers and many other series of fictional nature. Out of fictional inspiration, Vic gains inspiration from people such as CurrentBigThing and Jedi Master 76, creating characters based on them, as well as gaining inspiration from his family, such as the character Hunab, named after his dog.

In terms of edits, 45.32% of his edits have been in the main namespace, a true testimony to how hard he works. How so? Well, he’s an administrator, and often greets or messages new, or current, users regarding policies, but still works hard enough to write such articles. So, in terms of personality. At first, when I joined this wiki, I believed Vic to be quite officious, yet my view has been changed so much, from actually speaking to him, over talk pages and the IRC, and he’s a nice guy. I admire a lot of his work, and his reputation speaks for itself.

Also! If you wish to block these appalling ads wikia's using, just go to the central wiki and paste this code (thanks to Drewton for this) into User:yourusername/global.css

New LeadershipEdit

Written by Darth tom

Welcome back! After a few weeks of inactivity, during which Victor Dorantes and Brandon Rhea were the Head’s of CUSWFN, (and we offer them our deep condolences that they were unable to do as they had planned. We wish them the best in the Fanonical works they’ll continue with here.) Drewton and I have been elected as the new Heads, and we’ll begin by producing issues this time on a bi-weekly basis, delivered in exactly the same way as always, but with some exciting new additions to the Newsletter. So, what exactly are these new changes you’ll be seeing in the Newsletter now? Well, some of them I’m sure you’ll have noticed, many being layout and the like, but some you may not have, and I’ll be covering all of the new changes in this next section, in a definitive guide to the new CUSWFN.

What's New in CUSWFN

Written by Drewton

Darth tom and I have been colloborating to make a better, fresher CUSWFN. Several new articles have been added, such as Modal Nodes Club, Picture of the Week, and Star Wars Media, which spotlights new official Star Wars releases such as the new controversial movie, The Clone Wars.

Older articles have also been updated/improved. Fanon Updates will now cover multiple fanon stories, not simply one. FA/GA updates will now contain updates on nominations. The layout has been redesigned, which much more color. So far, user comments on the new layout have been positive.

Also, as Darth tom said, this looks much better on Mozilla than Internet Explorer.

Yeah, but like Exar Kun's lightsaber. Darth Craetor 03:49, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

What's new in CUSWFNEdit

Written by Unit 8311

Welcome to another issue of CUSFWN. In today's issue, we have more stuff to present to you, from interviews with profific authors on this site such as Brandon Rhea, CurrentBingThing, Darth tom, and others. As before, we've strived to have an extensive SWF media section, with essays and reviews from the likes of myself, Drewton, and MPK. Expect plenty to keep you occupied there.

We'll also have news, as usual, covering recent events such as the The Fourth Wiki Awards, the status of Project Cruentus, and other events on the wiki. We'll also take the opportunity to wish you a happy new year (a few weeks late, yes), and prosperous writing.

I will also take the opportunity to apologise for the somewhat late arrival; however, due Christmas and New Year interfering, I hope you'll all understand.

Good article review Edit

Please see this to participate in a relatively minor and painless good article review. Just so you're not freaked out, we do not have to conduct actual reviews. These are only articles that have had their status removed in the featured article review we conducted this past summer. I started it off with votes on all of them that link to the respective DL review page of the article, which contains all of the reasons for why the article was stripped of its featured article status. The vast majority of all of those objections can be applied to good article status as well, hence why I created this review in consultation with numerous other Seers. Please be sure to vote as soon as possible so we can get this over with. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 07:00, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

FAN page redesign Edit

Hey Xep, I put together an idea for a redesigning of the featured article nominations page. You can find it here. To go along with that, please see my idea for how the Council of Seers namespace pages would be set up. My idea can be found here. After looking at the CS namespace example page, be sure to read my detailed explanation of how that page would work. You can find that explanation here. Please get back to me on this ASAP. I’m not going to bother with a CT on this since it doesn’t really require any sort of community vote or discussion, so once a majority of the Seers get back to me I’ll set everything up. Don’t worry, this isn’t extra work for you. I’ll take care of all of it. Tongue - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 22:18, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Special CASWFN EditionEdit

April 1, 2009
The Completely ALTERNATIVE Star Wars Fanon Newsletter

Volume 1, Edition 1 - April, 2009

Greetings, mortals comrade citizens of the Star Wars Fanon community. We have here for you a very special message.

Friends, fanonites, countrymen, lend me your ears…er, eyes…whatever…just run the tapeEdit

Welcome to another issue of CUSWFN CASWFN, delivered fresh to your user talk page/subpage for April, 2009! Inside this issue, we have a interview with Solus, as well as a picture of the day, fanon updates, Star Wars merchandise page, Star Wars Fanon news, FA/GA updates, and user comments. In other words, everything that this publication should normally have, but usually doesn't, or doesn't have to the satisfaction of the majority (or at least a vocal minority) of the readers. However, first we have a special address from the editor for the main newsletter page:

By now, you've probably realized that this issue is not part of the CUSWFN, nor is it written by the usual culprits. No, instead we got tired of waiting around for the *actual* CUSWFN and decided to make our own, special one-issue-only release. We're not sure what happened to the actual heads. Word has it one of them is busy with the Communist party and the other is playing with children's toys. Please direct all complaints to them and not us. Especially since we're not revealing our names. In fact, we just conned Ataru into uploading this for us because he's a convenient fall guy.

As such, this issue is labeled the CASWFN, the Completely Alternative Star Wars Fanon Newsletter, due to the fact that it is not part of the standard newsletter. And, since it's not part of that mess, we felt that we could take a few more creative liberties with the content. As such, there is no compunction for us to be as serious in this issue, so you might find the content a bit more satirical. The date of this release also has something to do with that. Our goal is both provide a level of humor and content missing from CUSWFN issues, and frankly, to have fun with this publication. We hope you'll enjoy this special release of CASWFN, and remember, if you've been wishing you got more issues of the usual newsletter, talk to the normal heads.

CUSFWN XXIEdit

After long last, here's the revamped, improved CUSFWN:

What's new in CUSWFNEdit

Written by Drewton

Welcome to the twenty-first edition of the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! In this edition, CUSWFN receives another design change. This time, the width has been adjusted. Images are now used in the headers, and are different for each section. In addition to the design change, CUSWFN News had been removed, along with the Modal Nodes Club. However, good news must come with bad: co-editor Drewton has been forced to resign, leaving Unit 8311 as the sole editor. Check up soon to see if a new editor will be chosen. Otherwise, feel free to judge for yourself if this has been for the better or worse.

The winners of the Star Wars Fanon Awards are shown in SWF News, along with various other Wiki events in recent times, including unfortunate resignations, Copyright Crusades, and, of course, the upcoming Great Fanon Purge, which has poorly written articles across the site trembling in their grammatically questionable shoes. In Fanon Updates, new details are revealed for all of the newsletter's sponsored works, as well as Project Cruentus. Finally, the new character Cad Bane is analysed in the Star Wars Media section, and MPK has written an essay regarding a supposed myth from the game The Force Unleashed.

We have also asked some community members to pick a Picture of the Week. You will find the winner to that here. If you don't care about the Academy Awards anymore since The Dark Knight was snubbed, you may be interested in the Fourth Star Wars Fanon Wiki Awards, the results of which are also shown here. Hopefully, this will be the best edition of CUSWFN yet!

We would also like to point out that if you get put off by some of the content in this issue, we'd like to direct you to the Chris Rock School of Facetiousness Recognition.

What's new in CUSWFNEdit

Written by Unit 8311

Hello, and welcome to another edition of CUSWFN, the first to be hosted purely by Unit 8311 alone. Having put an end to the previous elongated procrastination of past editions, this week we bring you large quantities of news from the wiki, an amazing picture in the POTW section, and more. No more do you have to wait literally months for this to appear on your talk page. What you will find inside is up-to-date and (hopefully) of interesting topic. My old co-editor, Drewton, will be sorely missed, but now you can finally decide if his deparature was for better or worse.

News and writing in this essay will include an essay regarding Knights of the Old Republic by MPK, news regarding the upcoming purge of articles, Project Cruentus developments, and other such items. As usual, we have our customary reviews of articles featured on the main page.

Incidentally, if you have any essays, opinional pieces, or images you'd otherwise like us to showcase, feel free to contact myself and put forward your stuff. We want to maximise the quality of this newsletter, and if we can combine good writing from the standard editor and masterwork from yourself, we can truely boast that this will be the start of a great era for the newsletter.

Otherwise, enjoy what's inside, comment on it if you must, and have fun.

Edition XXII

CUSWFN – Edition 23 Edit

Cuswfn header main
CUSWFN logo 02

Welcome to the twenty-third edition of the Star Wars Fanon wiki’s very own Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! For this twenty-third edition, we welcome a new co-editor, Brandon Rhea, to the team! He will be working alongside long-time editor Unit 8311 to bring you the best quality news about the wiki and fan fiction, as well as editorials and opinions essays about Star Wars works, that this wiki has to offer. A little bit of trivia information is that Rhea, along with fellow Star Wars Fanon user Victor Dorantes, has served as the co-editor of the newsletter once before, but he and Dorantes resigned before releasing an issue due to other commitments that required their attention. We are happy that he has returned to us once again!

In this edition, you will be able to learn new exclusive information about fan works such as the Squishy Vic Series and Avian Hunt, as well as read news about other works sponsored by this newsletter. We also have an opinion essay written by our own Unit 8311, and the newly-renamed Picture of the Edition segment. We have also brought you up-to-date information about new policy proposals and other happenings around the wiki, such as the ongoing mass deletion process that is geared towards improving the quality of the wiki.

Speaking of quality, many users have remarked that the last few editions of this newsletter have not met the standards of quality that our readers have come to expect from us. It is our sincerest hope that this edition of the newsletter will be the first of many that will rectify that, as we have spent weeks working on articles, editorials, and other tidbits that we hope you will enjoy. Because we are striving to improve our quality, we very much encourage you to leave your comments and feedback in the User Comments section. Anything you have to say will be appreciated.

As always, thank you for reading the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter. We value your commitment to us, and we hope that you will continue to value our commitment to you!

CUSWFN – Edition 24 Edit

Thank you for your continued commitment to the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! Without you, this edition, albeit somewhat late due to real life matters taking priority for both Unit 8311 and Brandon Rhea, would not have been possible. We hope you enjoy it just as much as we do!
