- So, shall we discuss the collaboration on Korran Vash, for a Sith name? I suggest Darth Ultionis.
My page iChat What I've done 16:24, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- OK, cool, we can get down into planning tomorrow.
My page iChat What I've done 21:10, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I've added you to the CUSWFN mailing list. If you don't want to be, just delete the category from my message. Anyway, let;s discuss this Sith. So, Darth Ultionis and Korran Vash it is then? Well, now I think we should discuss storyline. Personally, I had the idea that he would be Lonna's illegitimate brother, would be sold to the Beast Riders, Beast Riders would get kicked outta Iziz whem he was fifteen or something, they start a war against Iziz, and Korran fights also in the battle and, amongst the beast riders, makes a name for himself. What do you think?

Sorry, I thought he would have left temporarily but I guess not. I'm also sorry people were making fun of Darth Tyler, its a good article. I was also wondering if I could reference Darth Tyler in an article but it wouldn't be a part of your continuity, since your in charge of his articles now. Darth Craetor 20:10, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Slogan
Currently, the newsletter has yet to receive any additional slogans aside from the one created by Darth tader which was mentioned in last week’s edition. We would love to have any others that users might be able to think of. If anyone wishes to submit a suggestion, please do so here at your earliest convenience. Also, a proposal in the Consensus Track to make the CUSWFN an official part of the Wiki failed, as it was deemed unnecessary for it to become a fully official part of the Wiki. Additionally, there is a specialist review written by Darth tom on the article Battle of Geonosis (New CIS/GDE Wars) by Troyb. This can be found on the SWF News page. In addition to this, CUSWFN is always looking for anyone who would like to write an article for an edition. Articles on your own projects throughout the Wiki are the preferred types, but general articles on Star Wars media such as the upcoming live action Star Wars television series would also be appreciated. They can be placed here as well. |

[edit] The Quote
- "Some People call the Confederacy evil, but the real evil was the Republic, they left the outer-rim defencless and when the Confederacy offered help to those worlds, the Republic called it Treason. The Republic was totaly Corrupt, Senators taking bribes and a the Separatist Leadership only wanted peace. Hmmm, sounds like the Confederacy were the good guys."
- —You
- When did they leave the Outer Rim "defenseless", in what way, and defenseless against what?
- When did the Separatists "offer to help" them any more than the Republic did? In fact, I seem to remember at least one unprovoked attack they made on a mid-rim planet.
- The Clone Wars was a rhetorical war of bad guys against another set of bad guys used as a diversion; not some noble Confederacy of white knights rebelling against an evil Republic, and not vice versa, either.
- Regardless of what the Separatist leaders said, they were all stooges of Sidious and Dooku. The Confederacy was organized by them for the sole purpose of creating the Clone Wars in order to give Palpatine more support in the senate, eventually leading to the creation of the Empire. In fact, if not for Dooku and his actions, the disgruntled systems of the Republic would never have united in the first place.
- If all the Separatists wanted was peace, then why were they building that gigantic fleet and army? Why were they hiring bounty hunters to assassinate a Republic senator?
- If what they wanted was peace, then why did they choose to continue the war after Geonosis instead of some sort of negotiation?
- If what they wanted was peace, then why did they put so much time and money into the research, planning, development, and implementation of superweapons and bioweapons, and their occasional use against civilian targets, such as the Swamp gas, the Trihexalophine, the Starkiller, the Dark Reaper, and a certain little-known planet-destroying weapon of terror?
- -MPK 12:02, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- Considering the source do you think it is supposed to be the exact truth? The Separatist leaders had no idea that the war was being controlled anyway. Besides, the quote is propaganda that is used to convince others to join this cause.

[edit] Date change
Due to personal restrictions, the release dates for future releases of the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter have been changed from Sunday to Monday. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. However, we will continue to bring you all of the news that you need! Such is the case today with an excellent editorial on Dark Troopers, written by master critic and High Priest MPK. We also have updates on all news, both Star Wars Fanon and CUSWFN based! We have a great crossword for you based on the excellent article Narod Antrell written by Squishy Vic, and a new sponsorship system for all fan-based projects on this Wiki! We're also happy to announce the return of a great Star Wars Fanon helper, Michaeldsuarez, which you can read about in the CUSWFN news section. Featured on this page is also the Meet a User for CurrentBigThing. |

Meet a User! CBT has three Formerly Featured Articles and two Good Articles, and many users have lamented the fact that his time away meant that his articles fell into disrepair and were made Formerly Featured Articles because of the raised standards. His first article to achieve any sort of status was Darth Faust, and it was around June 2007 when he was invited to be a Decreton Lord. After not being able to keep up with his duties, he left the Decreton Lords, but he became an administrator on June 27, 2007. He became an inactive Administrator later, in a self imposed exile, after an unfortunate incident with another user. However, he remains an Administrator to this day. CBT, like other users, was a big part of the Wiki's cleaning up, notably during the purge of uncategorized articles in Summer 2007. He gets inspiration from the people around him, as well as listening to music while writing. He's planning to return and become more active here, although technical restraints have confined him to quite a small position of support. He's a very good and helpful user, and has always deigned to reply to all the few messages I've left him.

[edit] Darthipedia Supplement
Over the IRC, the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter was able to convince Gonk, the founder of Darthipedia, the Star Wars Humor Wiki, to write a Darthipedia section for the news. This will continue on through the weeks and will be devoted to the going ons of Darthipedia. We are happy to hear that Gonk, the best man for the job, will be occassionally writing this section which will appear in CUSWFN News. Thanks, Gonk! In addition to this, we also have a Meet a User with Michaeldsuarez, as well as looking at the fantastic Force Exile series, written by the literary expert Atarumaster88! This weeks Star Wars News will be packed with news, as the wiki's heaving with the stuff! We hope you enjoy this edition, and please be aware that there might not be an edition in two weeks time (not next edition, but the one after) week, due to Darth tom's personal circumstances, though Brandon Rhea has volunteered to handle it. If there is no edition, then CUSWFN will resume again after that week. |

Meet a User!
This week's subject of Meet a User is Michaeldsuarez! Unfortunately, Michael did not reply to the questionnaire that was sent to him, so this will be briefer than previous Meet a Users. The first thing that will shock you about him is that his article category contains only 5 fanonical works! You may be asking, swhy is he Meet a User? Well, if we are the cogs and machinery of Star Wars Fanon, Michael is the oil and brush, polishing and cleaning up the wiki in general. Best known for clearing up double redirects, adding categories and fixing other mess ups, he's been a valuable help to this wiki, despite not being a fanon writer by trade! He has written the Force Maverck saga, a little known yet well written saga of which his works relate. Having been here since May 18, 2007, he's made a fair few edits. 60.27 % of his edits have been completely separate from the Main Namespace, and most of the ones in the main namespace have been grammar fixes, or changes to double redirects! He really is the 'Janitor' of the wiki, and we hope his sabbatical has seen him come back and ready to help us once more!

[edit] Retirement
Retirement is not a word I release to you through happiness, and I'm not finding it easy to retire, but retiring I am. In three editions time, I will be leaving CUSWFN. Why am I doing this? To those few who knew what was happening before hand, that was the question they all asked. Well, there are many reasons. If I do become a High Priest, I will have reviewing duties, and I want to be able to think: 'Ah yes. Three hours spare so I can settle down and do a nice, long, in depth review.' And I would be reviewing those articles better because of it. In addition to this, CUSWFN was the making of me on this wiki, yet it also is a problem for me. I have only two good articles, and I feel that I can do better, and I'd like some time to better concentrate on my articles. In addition, I feel I can do the community better in different ways, and I want people to remember me in a way that says: 'Oh. He's left. That's a shame.' I feel that if I carry on for much longer, people will get bored, and I don't want that. Will CUSWFN die with my retirement? I hope not. I have had reason to believe CUSWFN will be carried on, although by who I do not yet know. It was one of my favorite things about the Wiki, and I feel loathe to let it go, yet I must. I'd just like to thank everyone who's helped me: Brandon Rhea especially, for all the editorial work he's put in, users like MPK who wrote articles, people like Atarumaster88 who allowed us to write articles about their fanon, and users like C3PO the Dragon Slayer and Drewton who were the only users to thank me for giving out editions. There will be people I've forgotten in this list, and I'm sorry, but I thank you anyway. The successor will be decided in the forum, and you'll also notice that there's no activities page this week. I apologize, but time constraints were too much. Hope you enjoy it anyway! |

Meet a User!
Unit 8311 is well known by many recipients of CUSWFN as, despite having no official status, and he has been a great contributor to Project Cruentus. After the fanon restrictions on Wookieepedia, Unit 8311, like many users, came to put his userpage fanon here. He enjoyed it so much, he stayed! He currently has four Featured articles, those being his namesake article, Unit 8311, Steel Legion, Club StarDust and Battle of Nar Shaddaa (GDE/Legion). His two sole Good articles are Ferd Swqaru and Star Wars: Legion Commando. Unit’s first Featured Article was Steel Legion, and his first Good Article was his namesake. He's done a lot for Project Cruentus, and he's made a lot of contributions to the Wiki. Unit generates and expands random ideas, yet he also gets inspiration from existing Star Wars stories, and he doesn't like writing about Jedi and Sith, preferring the underworld of Star Wars. In terms of other science fiction, he's a watcher of Doctor Who, and he (real random one here) enjoys eating Asian food, according to himself. He's often been criticized for being unable to take criticism, however I feel he's improving here.

[edit] This week
So, what do we have for you this edition? This week, the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon newsletter will become Wikia’s joint-oldest newsletter, though we will have more on that next week when we become Wikia’s oldest newsletter! We have an article on the up and coming Legacy of Rella series, and a Meet a User that spotlights Force Exile series writer and creator Atarumaster88. We also have news on the conclusion of numerous forum discussions, as well as updates on Project Cruentus. The forums, most notably the Senate Hall, have had a lot of discussions recently, with the Senate Hall having five at the same time! In addition to this, we see the retirement of Dexington and the two users that are succeeding him as High Priests. We unfortunately are lacking a Darth Dispatch from Darthipedia this week, but we do have a new idea proposed by Arav the Undersith that you can look at. You will also undoubtedly notice that there is no Activities section again, and this is because Microsoft Paint on my computer has not been working. Enjoy this addition! |

Meet a User!
This weeks subject for Meet a User is Atarumaster88, the author of the brilliant Force Exile series of fan fiction novels. Up until only a short while ago I had never heard of Ataru, despite being a very small-time contributor to Wookieepedia. I did eventually hear of him, and since then have heard much of his “exploits”. Ataru joined Star Wars Fanon roughly one year ago on April 29, 2007. Surprisingly enough, he has never written an article, aside from those showcasing his fan fiction novels, which he’s been working on for the past year and a half! He has over twenty Featured Articles and Good Articles on Wookieepedia, though nothing but the Force Exile series here. Ataru has done a great deal of reviewing of other fan fiction, most notably for Brandon Rhea and Squishy Vic in their Alternative Star Wars Saga. He has also helped out around Star Wars Fanon by commenting in forums and discussions. Ataru gets a lot of his inspiration from many different places, such as images, magazines, role-playing and the loose ends of Star Wars canon. He has been told his writing style resembles that of Michael Reeves and, to a lesser extent, Steve Perry who is known for his novels Death Star and the MedStar Duology. Ataru has, ironically, been forced to ban people for fanon on Wookieepedia, despite being a supporter of the idea of fanon here on Star Wars Fanon. Because of the numerous reviews that Ataru has done, he has been highly praised. Brandon Rhea, for example, has spoken very highly of him. When Rhea posted his second draft of the now on-hold Shadows of the Jedi: The Legend of Ussej Padric Bac, all of the reviews he was getting was lush praise. In his own words, “then Ataru came along”. Ataru was very critical in his review of the novel and the way it was written, and at first Rhea disagreed. However, he eventually realized that Ataru was correct and he was able to greatly improve his writing because of it. Rhea credits a great deal of the success of Star Wars: Episode I - The Chosen One and the anticipated success of Star Wars: Chronicles of the Great War to Ataru’s reviews of his work. Looking at everything that has been said about him, it is hard for anyone to doubt that Ataru has had a tremendous impact on many Star Wars Fanon users. He comes highly recommended as a reviewer, though those that seek him out should understand that he has many preferences when it comes to writing that can be found on his user page.

[edit] Record breaker!
Today, CUSWFN makes history. With the release of this edition, CUSWFN becomes Wikia’s oldest newsletter, both in time and releases, having run, and released more editions, than Halopedia’s Oracle Newsletter, with a total of seventeen editions, beating Halopedia’s 16! Today, in CUSWFN News, we’ll be taking a look at the changes of CUSWFN, the Meet a Users, the glory times, the fail times, and the good, the bad, and the ugly, to use a popular phrase. In addition to this, we have a Media article on Avian Hunt, the game conceived and created by C3PO the Dragon Slayer, and a test version has been released, which I’m reviewing this edition, with screenshots from in game and all! The news from Star Wars Fanon features this weeks updates, as well as CUSFWN news featuring the last updates you’ll receive from me about Project Cruentus, as well as my last cartoon and crossword, which returns, as my MS Paint has decided to work once more! As well as this, it’s poignant that, in my last edition, who should be the Meet a User but Squishy Vic, one of the most hard working but least praised users on Star Wars Fanon, and one who has helped me, as well as many others, in the past, and has never been the Meet a User before. So, enjoy this addition! |

|
Meet a User!
The subject for this weeks Meet a User is Squishy Vic, the Supreme chancellor and Decreton Lord! Vic first lurked in in mid 2006, reading articles like NKSCF and Jasca Ducato, the Star Wars Fanon ‘classics’, yet he didn’t officially join until October 6th of that very year, and, since then, has written 20 articles worthy of status, ten of them being Good articles and ten Featured articles, with only three of each being only GA’s and only FA’s, the other 14 being both. Vic also holds the status of being one of the original Decreton Lords, along with Jedi Master 76 and Jasca Ducato, the others being the only other original DL’s to remain as current ones, and it didn’t end there. Vic was made an administrator, after a standard election, on April 30 2007, over a year ago, after the election began on March 31. In terms of his work, Vic feels that Narod Antrell and his spin off articles have been his most valuable contributions to the wiki, but he’s also been involved in many cleanup articles, being an administrator like he is. Narod Antrell was also his first FA, and he also holds the record of having the first ever Good article on this site, Si'va Morrer. In terms of inspiration, Vic gets it from many sources, such as Star Wars, where we all do, such as cartoons, video games and comics. He’s opposed to the New Jedi Order series, and never will, according to himself, read it, calling it ‘Yuuzhan Vong crap’, or the Palpatine’s clones works, and he also gains inspiration from other fictional sources. These include Halo, The Lord of the Rings, The Godfather, Starship Troopers and many other series of fictional nature. Out of fictional inspiration, Vic gains inspiration from people such as CurrentBigThing and Jedi Master 76, creating characters based on them, as well as gaining inspiration from his family, such as the character Hunab, named after his dog. In terms of edits, 45.32% of his edits have been in the main namespace, a true testimony to how hard he works. How so? Well, he’s an administrator, and often greets or messages new, or current, users regarding policies, but still works hard enough to write such articles. So, in terms of personality. At first, when I joined this wiki, I believed Vic to be quite officious, yet my view has been changed so much, from actually speaking to him, over talk pages and the IRC, and he’s a nice guy. I admire a lot of his work, and his reputation speaks for itself. Also! If you wish to block these appalling ads wikia's using, just go to the central wiki and paste this code (thanks to Drewton for this) into User:yourusername/global.css

Hey Troyb. You seem to have more or less left Project Crunetus, but Arav has suggested involving the faction you came up with, so if you want to get re-involved the time is now. If not, we'll probably go ahead with any plans anyway, but I just felt you might need to know. Unit 8311 16:14, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- Okay. If you do get time, then feel free to post any ideas on the forum, but I'd recommend looking through forum archives and articles so far to get an idea of the conintinuity if you do so. Unit 8311 16:38, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Potential fanon stealing
There is a user named Mr.Wood that is using Troyb in a few articles he's made or edited. Does he have your permission to do this? If not, I'll deal with it, or you can kindly talk to him. Let me know. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 13:30, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- I had actually forgotten about it. Now that you've reminded me, I removed all instances of stolen fanon. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 14:48, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
I highly doubt he did it intending to steal fanon. All new users need to be told about policies and the worst thing you can do is get angry at them because it will just scare them off. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 15:36, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hello and idea
Hi Troyb. I've been at a loss for inspiration, and I was just thinking that I've never really done an article or project that got any interest. In fact, when I nominated one of my articles for Good Article (not Featured Article), it was shot down rather quickly. So I was wondering if we could do some kind of project together. Obviously, this would be for both of us, I wouldn't take the credit for myself. Let me know what you think.

[edit] Hey man
- Hey, Troyb. If you have time, can you check out Zak Koroen and give me some feedback? I'd really like to know what you think of my improvements.--Batman ( Zakkoroen)The Batcave.Batcomputer. 14:34, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] I'm back!
After long periods of absence, I am back!
I am now going to try to stay active. Right now, I'm working on an article I want to nominate "Good Article" when it's finished. You can read it Here. Let me know what you think.

[edit] RE:I'm Back
Too bad. I'll read it and see. I'm sure at least I will consider it worthy.
Nice to see you again.

[edit] What's new in CUSWFN
Welcome to another issue of CUSFWN. In today's issue, we have more stuff to present to you, from interviews with profific authors on this site such as Brandon Rhea, CurrentBingThing, Darth tom, and others. As before, we've strived to have an extensive SWF media section, with essays and reviews from the likes of myself, Drewton, and MPK. Expect plenty to keep you occupied there. We'll also have news, as usual, covering recent events such as the The Fourth Wiki Awards, the status of Project Cruentus, and other events on the wiki. We'll also take the opportunity to wish you a happy new year (a few weeks late, yes), and prosperous writing. I will also take the opportunity to apologise for the somewhat late arrival; however, due Christmas and New Year interfering, I hope you'll all understand.

[edit] Special CASWFN Edition
| ||
[edit] Friends, fanonites, countrymen, lend me your ears…er, eyes…whatever…just run the tapeWelcome to another issue of By now, you've probably realized that this issue is not part of the CUSWFN, nor is it written by the usual culprits. No, instead we got tired of waiting around for the *actual* CUSWFN and decided to make our own, special one-issue-only release. We're not sure what happened to the actual heads. Word has it one of them is busy with the Communist party and the other is playing with children's toys. Please direct all complaints to them and not us. Especially since we're not revealing our names. In fact, we just conned Ataru into uploading this for us because he's a convenient fall guy. As such, this issue is labeled the CASWFN, the Completely Alternative Star Wars Fanon Newsletter, due to the fact that it is not part of the standard newsletter. And, since it's not part of that mess, we felt that we could take a few more creative liberties with the content. As such, there is no compunction for us to be as serious in this issue, so you might find the content a bit more satirical. The date of this release also has something to do with that. Our goal is both provide a level of humor and content missing from CUSWFN issues, and frankly, to have fun with this publication. We hope you'll enjoy this special release of CASWFN, and remember, if you've been wishing you got more issues of the usual newsletter, talk to the normal heads.

[edit] CUSFWN XXI
After long last, here's the revamped, improved CUSFWN:
[edit] What's new in CUSWFN
Welcome to the twenty-first edition of the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! In this edition, CUSWFN receives another design change. This time, the width has been adjusted. Images are now used in the headers, and are different for each section. In addition to the design change, CUSWFN News had been removed, along with the Modal Nodes Club. However, good news must come with bad: co-editor Drewton has been forced to resign, leaving Unit 8311 as the sole editor. Check up soon to see if a new editor will be chosen. Otherwise, feel free to judge for yourself if this has been for the better or worse. The winners of the Star Wars Fanon Awards are shown in SWF News, along with various other Wiki events in recent times, including unfortunate resignations, Copyright Crusades, and, of course, the upcoming Great Fanon Purge, which has poorly written articles across the site trembling in their grammatically questionable shoes. In Fanon Updates, new details are revealed for all of the newsletter's sponsored works, as well as Project Cruentus. Finally, the new character Cad Bane is analysed in the Star Wars Media section, and MPK has written an essay regarding a supposed myth from the game The Force Unleashed. We have also asked some community members to pick a Picture of the Week. You will find the winner to that here. If you don't care about the Academy Awards anymore since The Dark Knight was snubbed, you may be interested in the Fourth Star Wars Fanon Wiki Awards, the results of which are also shown here. Hopefully, this will be the best edition of CUSWFN yet! We would also like to point out that if you get put off by some of the content in this issue, we'd like to direct you to the Chris Rock School of Facetiousness Recognition. |

[edit] What's new in CUSWFN
Hello, and welcome to another edition of CUSWFN, the first to be hosted purely by Unit 8311 alone. Having put an end to the previous elongated procrastination of past editions, this week we bring you large quantities of news from the wiki, an amazing picture in the POTW section, and more. No more do you have to wait literally months for this to appear on your talk page. What you will find inside is up-to-date and (hopefully) of interesting topic. My old co-editor, Drewton, will be sorely missed, but now you can finally decide if his deparature was for better or worse. News and writing in this essay will include an essay regarding Knights of the Old Republic by MPK, news regarding the upcoming purge of articles, Project Cruentus developments, and other such items. As usual, we have our customary reviews of articles featured on the main page. Incidentally, if you have any essays, opinional pieces, or images you'd otherwise like us to showcase, feel free to contact myself and put forward your stuff. We want to maximise the quality of this newsletter, and if we can combine good writing from the standard editor and masterwork from yourself, we can truely boast that this will be the start of a great era for the newsletter. Otherwise, enjoy what's inside, comment on it if you must, and have fun. |

So, my article talk page has something new. I know you are very busy but would you care to take a look? Wakachukie (Talk) 01:33, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] New Service
Hi Troyb!
I have been offline for awhile, but since its summer, i'll probably be on more. I've been looking around the site, and I have an idea. It would seem that many articles on this wiki are in bad condition (as is evidenced by the mass deletion), however I feel there might be a better approach to improving article quality, as it seems that often the first reaction to low quality on this wiki is to delete it, rather than try to improve it. In my opinion, though, it would be much better to attempt to make improvements before deletion is considered. Awhile ago I started an article service page, as a subpage of my userpage, but, aside from a few requests, it didn't really catch on. So I've been thinking of taking that concept and possibly expanding it into a larger service, ideally sitewide if all goes well.
This is still in its concept phase, and I have no definite plans yet, but I would like to hear your opinion. Good? Bad? If good, what should be in it? If bad, what changes should be made, etc.
Thanks!

[edit] CUSWFN – Edition 23
|
Welcome to the twenty-third edition of the Star Wars Fanon wiki’s very own Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! For this twenty-third edition, we welcome a new co-editor, Brandon Rhea, to the team! He will be working alongside long-time editor Unit 8311 to bring you the best quality news about the wiki and fan fiction, as well as editorials and opinions essays about Star Wars works, that this wiki has to offer. A little bit of trivia information is that Rhea, along with fellow Star Wars Fanon user Victor Dorantes, has served as the co-editor of the newsletter once before, but he and Dorantes resigned before releasing an issue due to other commitments that required their attention. We are happy that he has returned to us once again! In this edition, you will be able to learn new exclusive information about fan works such as the Squishy Vic Series and Avian Hunt, as well as read news about other works sponsored by this newsletter. We also have an opinion essay written by our own Unit 8311, and the newly-renamed Picture of the Edition segment. We have also brought you up-to-date information about new policy proposals and other happenings around the wiki, such as the ongoing mass deletion process that is geared towards improving the quality of the wiki. Speaking of quality, many users have remarked that the last few editions of this newsletter have not met the standards of quality that our readers have come to expect from us. It is our sincerest hope that this edition of the newsletter will be the first of many that will rectify that, as we have spent weeks working on articles, editorials, and other tidbits that we hope you will enjoy. Because we are striving to improve our quality, we very much encourage you to leave your comments and feedback in the User Comments section. Anything you have to say will be appreciated. As always, thank you for reading the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter. We value your commitment to us, and we hope that you will continue to value our commitment to you! |
[edit] CUSWFN – Edition 24
Thank you for your continued commitment to the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! Without you, this edition, albeit somewhat late due to real life matters taking priority for both Unit 8311 and Brandon Rhea, would not have been possible. We hope you enjoy it just as much as we do!

Welcome to the twenty-fourth edition of the Star Wars Fanon Wiki's very own Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! This edition has been brought to you by co-editors Unit 8311 and Brandon Rhea, and has been made possible by a number of others who took the time to be interviewed by our team. There is a lot of news from the past few weeks since our last release, and we are bringing that and more to your doorstep for yet another outstanding edition! For this twenty-fourth edition, you will be able to find out even more about the wiki's favorite fan works such as the Force Exile Series, Avian Hunt, and much more! Interested in how the upcoming live action Star Wars television series might impact fanon? We have an essay about just that written by our own Unit 8311, as well as our popular Picture of the Edition and IRC Conversations sections. While many of you participate in these discussions, we nevertheless continue to bring you all up-to-date information about new policy proposals, new policies, and more of the wiki’s happenings, such as its continued cleanup efforts. Quality improvement has been a major focus of the newsletter team as of late, just as it has for the wiki. Prior to the twenty-third edition, many users remarked that the newsletter had not met the standards of quality they had come to expect, and we are pleased to report that we dramatically improved ourselves in the last edition. The reception of the twenty-third edition was unanimously positive, and we hope to continue this new trend as long as this newsletter continues to operate! Anytime you want to comment on this edition, we very much encourage you to do so in the User Comments section. Anything you have to say is welcome! As always, thank you for reading the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter. We truly value your commitment to us, and we hope that you will continue to value our commitment to you! |
[edit] Encyclopedia Imaginarica
Hi troyb!
I've created a new wiki [1]. This wiki is for Fantasy worldbuilding and storywriting. If you are interested, write me a message. I go by IstariArchmage there, by the way. I am in need of a few admins.

[edit] CUSWFN – Edition 25
Thank you for your continued commitment to the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! Without you, this edition, albeit somewhat late due to unfortunate technical difficulties, would not have been possible. We hope you enjoy it just as much as we do!
|
Welcome to the twenty-fifth edition of the Star Wars Fanon Wiki’s very own Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! Co-editors Unit 8311 and Brandon Rhea are thrilled to bring you the silver anniversary edition of this newsletter, which has been made possible by a number of others who took the time to be interviewed by our team. We would also like to thank former editors Darth tader, Darth tom, and Drewton for all of the work they put into making all twenty-five editions of this newsletter possible! Now that the thank you part is out of the way, there is a lot of news from the past few weeks since our last release, and we are bringing that and more to your doorstep for yet another outstanding edition! Before we go any further, we would like to acknowledge the delay in this issue’s release. For anyone who was patiently waiting for this newest edition, we would like to apologize for the wait and thank you for being so patient. Unexpected technical difficulties delayed it longer than we had hoped, but once again we are very pleased that we are able to deliver this edition to your doorstep. Rest assured that the next releases will be much timelier! Also, we are announcing that co-editor Brandon Rhea is stepping down from the aforementioned position, effective immediately. As he said when he was elected to the position, “I'm just trying to fix [the newsletter] and put it back on the right track. When that's done, I'm done.” He feels satisfied with the major improvements over the last three editions, so he has decided to let someone else have the chance to help co-edit the newsletter. He has, however, offered to be the proofreader for each edition. Now that the formalities are out of the way, time for the rest of the newsletter! For this edition, you will be able to find out even more about the wiki’s favorite fan works, such as the Squishy Vic Series, The Drewton Legacy, and much more! Interested in the departure of Karen Traviss from Star Wars writing? We have an essay about just that written by our own Unit 8311, as well as our popular Picture of the Edition and IRC Conservations sections. While many of you participate in these discussions, we nevertheless continue to bring you up-to-date information about new policy proposals, new policies, and more of the wiki’s happenings, such as its continued improvement efforts. The reception of our latest editions has been overwhelmingly positive, so we would like to thank you for continuing to take the time to give feedback on the newsletter. We hope to continue this trend, and the best way for us to know how we are doing is for this feedback to continue as well. Anytime you want to commend on this edition, we very much encourage you to do so in the User Comments section. Anything you have to say is welcome! As always, thank you for reading the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter. We truly value your commitment to us, and we hope that you will continue to value our commitment to you! |
[edit] Blog deletion
Hey Troyb, welcome back. Just so you know, I deleted the blog you just recently created because it was completely off topic from SWF, per the blog policy. Please don't create blogs for stuff like that again. Thanks. - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 02:45, October 4, 2009 (UTC)
- There was a very long consensus discussion where everyone decided what would and wouldn't be allowed to be used in blogs. It was either establish guidelines or have no blogs at all. This isn't a social networking website, so we made guidelines that basically only allowed it for behind the scenes stuff with our work. It's actually a great tool that way, because you can talk about how you developed something and then use it to source information in an article's behind the scenes section. I do that quite often. - Brandon Rhea
