[edit] Riddikulus Awards

Hey, Riddikulus. I was looking through the history of your userpage and saw this and the reason for why you took it off. IMHO, I say you should keep it on there, as it's very good for someone to look at various articles on here and review them, and any suggestions to improve them would be appreciated. You shouldn't get hounded by any of the users just because you put up a section on your userpage about how some of the articles don't meet up to your expectations. (I know you won't get any from me, even though one of my articles was on there, because I take criticism well. File:Smile.gif) Anyways, welcome to Star Wars Fanon! Jesus Freak NK says NK's 'mazin' articles Image:sabersmilygreend.jpg 19:38, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks. I was pretty worried about getting flak from other contributors, but you're right, there's nothing wrong with a little concstructive criticism. Thanks. Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 00:47, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hey...

Just noticed your little critique of my Steel Legion article on your userpage. Whilst I do appreciate constructive critisim, I just wanted to point out that a canon crime organization that practically goes to war with the Empire exists. So, my article's not so ridicilous. File:Smile.gif Unit 8311 18:16, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Yea... If I had a Userpage on Wookiepedia, I would be saying the exact same thing about the Zann Consortium as I did about the Steel Legion: it's ridiculous. Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 23:12, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
    • I think you meant to say it's riddikulus. File:Wink.gif --Victor, Sr. HoloNet 209 06:18, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
      • Exactly, Victor File:Wink.gif. Real gangs don't oppose the government through warfare, like Zann Consortium; they do it through exortion, bribery, and blackmail, like Black Sun. Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 21:09, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
        • So does the Legion. File:Tongue.gif Actually, the Legion never really goes to war with the Empire--it simply raids its assets, just like any crime organization. I thought the article made that clear... Unit 8311 21:24, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
          • I'm sorry, I must have missed that part; I was too busy reading about the awesome military strength of the Steel Legion and how many armed conflicts it's been it. Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 23:57, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
            • Yes, clearly you did. In any case, the major SW crime organizations are all described as having big armies in many pieces of work. However, I'm not going to say any more, as having my article mentioned on your userpage gives it some publicity. lol By the way, one more thing: your little critique of Darth Tyler is a bit redundant now. He isn't injected with midichlorians any more. Unit 8311 11:05, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
              • The point I'm trying to make is that it doesn't seem like a very realistic gang. You make it seem more like a government. But, it doesn't seem like you're going to make anything out of my criticism, and there's nothing I can do about that. Don't worry about the publicity, it's on me. (I'll have to review the Darth Tyler article again and see how much has changed since my last visit, thanks for the heads up lol) Good luck, Unit. [edit] New addition to Nathan's critique

Yes, he did do that to his father, but it was more psychological than anything else. If Nat-ahn had really wanted to, he could have escaped it, but he formed a mental block on himself and the only way he could escape—per his mental block—was if he reconciled with Nathan, which was exactly what Nathan wanted to happen.

It may seem heartless on the outside, but Nathan just wanted his father to realize that his hate would only make him into what Nathan forced upon him at the end of their duel. Perhaps I should elaborate on that in the article so that people will not get confused.

Hope this clears things up a little for you. If not, please respond and ask any questions. Thanks. Jesus Freak NK says NK's 'mazin' articles Image:sabersmilygreend.jpg 15:36, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

  • I don't quite understand... Could you explain? Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 23:57, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
    • I'd be glad to. When Nathan forced Nat-ahn to be "cut off" from the Force, he really didn't. Instead, he knew that Nat-ahn secretly wished to reconcile with him, but his pride and hate would never let him do so. Nat-ahn had set up a mental block when it came to that and Nathan knew that if he made it seem like he'd forced Nat-ahn to remain as a spirit for eternity, then Nat-ahn would eventually come to his senses. So Nathan used that knowledge to his advantage and made it seem like he cut Nat-ahn from the Force to roam the Galaxy forever. Later on during the Reaver War, Nathan and Nat-ahn reconciled, which was exactly what Nathan had hoped would happen. Hope that clears things up. [edit] Polls

Something's screwed up on your polls on your user page. I voted "no" for the first one, yet it then casted a "no" vote for the other ones automatically. Just figured I'd let you know. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 22:48, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Thank you for letting me know, I'll try to figure it out. Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 22:49, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
    • It seems I'm not allowed to have the same choice twice... Oh, dear. :s Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 22:54, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I see. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 22:56, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Yea. If you know of a fix for this, please, let me know. Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 22:59, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure what a fix would be, but I would assume it's the wording of the question. If you use "Do you agree with my criticism?" for each one and then have "Yes" and "No" as the options, it more than likely assumes that it's the same poll. My best guess would be (in the future, since if you do this now you'll reset the polls) to do polls such as "Do you agree with my critiscm of Darth Tyler?" or "Do you agree with my critiscm of Steel Legion?", etc. Also, take a look at Ussej Padric Bac and let me know what you think. I consider it an epic (it's even more of an epic when the entire story is laid out), so I want to know if one of the more "blunt" reviewers agrees or if it's too epic to the point of Mary Sue-dom. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 17:11, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

  • "Epic" is a good term for it. It's well-written, but it's kind of hard to digest. It took me three sittings to get through it. You certainly have a vision, Brandon Rhea. But anyways, normally I'm not a very big fan of author surrogates (as you can see by my talk page), but this one is actually enjoyable. Good work. [edit] Hmm

  • I see you dont like the Darthtyler, well thats your opinion, but what do you think about New CIS?TroybAllSpark Quest contribs 23:12, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
    • I think that it lacks the timeless quality that a government would need if it were to last for 10,000 years as the "sole governing body of the galaxy." The article dwells too much on military strength, and not enough on how it avoided stagnation and revolt, which generally happens in plutocracies. Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 01:34, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Hmmm, your right, well Im a little too busy but I have some ideas for it after the holidays.TroybAllSpark Quest contribs 20:17, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Categorization

Hey Riddikulus. Please don't forget to categorize your articles, with a legitimate category besides "Articles by Riddikulus" (like Governments, or Humans, etc). Thanks. --Squishy Vic HoloNet 209 05:11, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

  • No worries, those categories were only temporary until I could find the proper ones to place them in. Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 23:20, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hi...

Hello, Riddikulus. I noticed your criticism of my 8311 article, and this time I've got to agree with you, most of those quotes were a bit cheesy, so I've adjusted most of them. The rest, however, I feel should stay, as I feel that they add a bit more character to the droid, silly/cheesy they may be. Thanks. Unit 8311 15:49, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:President

No offense, but what does it matter to you? I want to be president, and the userbox reflects that. If you don't like it, then honestly there's nothing I can do about that. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 22:51, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

  • The usebox doesn't say that you want to president, it says that you are going to be president. Isn't that just a little bit arrogant? Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 23:49, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

I call it optimism, just like when presidential candidates say "when I'm president" instead of "if I'm president". - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 23:57, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

  • I think it's a lot smaller leap for an actual candidate for say that than an 17 year old kid, but you're obviously not going to cut back on your antics, so there's not much more to say then good luck. Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 00:20, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

All I'm going to add is that I'm nineteen, not seveteen. There's a big difference there. Other than that, thanks for the good luck. - President Brandon Rhea (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 00:27, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Razzie

  • So, is earning a Riddikulus like earning a Razzie Award? Atarumaster88 (Talk page) 00:09, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
  • Wow, I've never looked at it that way. Well, I suppose the Riddikulus Awards are like the Razzies, save for great difference in how much attention they receive. ;) Riddikulus (Riddikulus!) 15:42, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
