Star Wars: WarzoneEdit

EaW modEdit

Have you ever heard of EaW modding? Editing the files to change their effects in-game? Well, I think your ships Unheard and Unseen would be fairly easy to make, and I was wondering if I could/should include them in my FoC mod. I have similarly approached UN-8311 and Ewoksfist. Well, currently my mod has been ravaged by a bug in the modified files, so I can't yet, but I'm working on fixing it.--1upD 01:14, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Halo Fanon Edit

I'm surprised, Relentless. I've known you for a little while now, long enough to know that you are a member of multiple administrations across various Wikia. You, more than anyone else at Halo Fanon, should know the answer to this:

When I posted a non-Star Wars-related fiction at SWFanon, a StarCraft fiction, it was immediately deleted. I could not even move it into my own user namespace.—You[src]

In case you didn't know, this is a Star Wars Fanon Wiki. Of course your StarCraft fanon would be deleted, because it doesn't belong here. It could go to the generic Fanon Wiki or perhaps one of the Wikis you are an administrator at, where no one could stop you from doing so. Either way, what you said afterwards, is not at all true:

Thus, we are even being more liberal here.—You[src]

You are not being more liberal, because we allow all kinds of Star Wars Fanon on User pages, subpages, or a regular article. You, as I've read, only support allowing articles on user subpages. Regular Halo Fanon. I bet if I created a Power Rangers Fanon on a subpage, or perhaps a Ninja Turtles Fanon, you wouldn't allow me to keep it, even if on a subpage. Therefore, please do not make false claims. I would prefer that Halo Fanon would remain as they were when I left, that way, H*bad would stop asking for more freedom of thought, since it's not going to happen, which is fine. You guys are the administration, and it's your guys' choice, but as far as I'm concerned, the Wiki and our Wiki (which you too are a part of) are not "partners" nor will they be, at least not now.

All I wanted to say was remember this. The Star Wars Fanon Wiki is more liberal than the Halo Fanon Wiki, not vice versa. Because in the end, we even allow some form of crossovers. Because you allow Halo Fanon on User subpages on a Halo Fanon site, it doesn't make you more "righteous", since that's what the Halo Fanon Wiki is supposed to be about. That's all, now I'll leave you to your business. --Don Victor, Sr. Coat of arms of Mexico (contact) 05:37, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

  • Ah, well then I had a misunderstanding. I didn't know you were referring to Non-Halo Fanon. Anyways, I don't have COD4, but my brother does and I've played it. It's a great game. I think the storyline and missions are more interesting and challenging than Halo 3, but the Halo 3 multiplayer is better, because the COD4 multiplayer sucks, IMO. --Victor, Sr. HoloNet 209 22:11, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

I'll play you sometime, as soon as I can get back on Xbox live. --Victor, Sr. HoloNet 209 00:53, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Articles Edit

Hey Relentless. Just tonight I had some help to remove your templates, "RR" and "RRR" from all the pages they were on. I instead asked User:Darth mavoc, to follow regulation, to replace the template with the correct category name, Articles by RelentlessRecusant (instead of "Articles Written by RR"). Please do not recreate these templates, they're unnecessary. Also, I noticed that you always put an image in the corner of your articles, using the "RR" template. Since it was removed, I took the liberty of making an era icon for you, based on that image. See it at Image:SVera-RR.png.

You can add this to your articles only by one way, which is by using the {{eras}} icon. Simply place {{eras|RR}} on the articles that you wish the icon to be placed on. If you do not like the icon, please tell me so I may edit it as you desire or you may do so yourself, however the image must be square and small, at 30x30 pixels. If not, then no image may go in the corner.

Also, Relentless, please go through your articles at Category:Articles by RelentlessRecusant and categorize them properly. The category of just "Articles by…" is not enough, as you need an appropriate category like "Starships" or "Females", etc. Please do this as soon as possible. Any uncategorized (or not properly categorized) articles will be deleted. I have decided to give you a week or so to do this, to give you time.

That's all. Thanks. --Victor, Sr. HoloNet 209 10:29, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Ah, well I believe that's it. I've never seen a list for mainstream categories before. - President Brandon Rhea Presidentialseal (Pressroom) (Accomplishments) 20:05, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

RE:Categories Edit

Yes, see Special:Categories. --Victor, Sr. HoloNet 209 20:46, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

  • I saw Brandon already gave you that link. Then no, there is no link to mainstream categories, just the list of all the categories. Feel free to browse through other articles and take their categories as examples if needed. --Victor, Sr. HoloNet 209 20:47, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Good to hear from you again, Relentless. Things have been going pretty well for me around here.

To be brief, I think the SARDAD article is very good. A few minor suggestions, though: the images would probably look better in the "left-right-left-right-etc." positions. Some of them are, at least in my resolution, right on top of each other. Maybe spacing them out a bit would also work. Also, in the first sentence of the introductory paragraph, it may look better like this: "The 'Special Airborne Reconnaissance and Direct Action Detachment (SARDAD) was a principal special-operations division..." Of course, its your article and therefore your decisions. If I happen to think of any other suggestions, I'll let you know. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) Imperial Emblem 17:52, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Of course not! Grin Anyway, I forgot to reply, but your new article looks great. I think it definitely has potential and you should put some more work into it. Also, to make it more organized, you should arrange the images in a left-right-left-right (etc) style. --Squishy Vic HoloNet 209 08:06, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Warning: Image sourcing Edit

Hello Relentless. Please read our image policy. In it, you will find that all images uploaded onto the Star Wars Fanon Wiki must be properly sourced using the guidelines and specifications found in that policy. In this policy, you will find that "Wookieepedia" is not a proper source because it is not a primary source. To use Wookieepedia as a source is the same as writing an essay and then putting "The encyclopedia" as your reference. Sourcing your images is mandatory in accordance with United States Federal Copyright Law which, as a member of a Wikia Wiki, you are required to follow even if you do not live in the United States, as Wikia servers are located in Florida. Therefore, after taking a few minutes to read the policy, please source the following images you uploaded:

This all applies to any images you upload after this warning as well. You have until 11:35pm Eastern Standard Time on Thursday, January 29th to source all of these images, or else they will be deleted. If this problem continues with you uploading more unsourced images after I leave this warning, you will be subject to a short block from editing in accordance with our policies. Because we do not wish to see that happen, especially to someone like yourself, I implore you to read the policy and source your images. If you have any questions after reading the policy, please let me know. Thank you for your cooperation. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 04:32, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

  • I cleaned it up a bit to show you the formatting I personally use, but you basically did it right. Thanks. It felt weird warning you. Tongue - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 05:05, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Things are going well, and NJ is same as always. Tongue What about you? - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 06:21, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: Signature policy Edit

Yeah, there is. You can find it here. Your signature violated it by just a very small bit, as the image was 30px and it can't be any larger than 25px. I've reduced the size for you. Other than that, it's a-okay. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 05:19, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

wow Edit

You are studying at Havard University, that is impressive...most impressive. Good luck and try not to eat too many beans. :) --I'm the Chosen One (Talk) 06:58, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

That article about the SARDAD you wrote was amazing! But you called Phase I, Phase II.Phase I is the original armor with the fin on the helmet and Phase II is the new kind. No offense I just wanted to tell you so you'd be aware.--Darth Malice the Destroyer (Talk) 00:55, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Block Edit

You have been blocked from editing for twenty-four hours (one day) for failing to properly source and license your recently uploaded image, "File:Alpha-183.jpg," despite a previous warning. The image in question has also been deleted. When you return from your block, please read the image policy, where you will find that "Wookieepedia" is not a proper source and that you are required to have a licensing template, so this does not happen again. If you wish to contest this block, feel free to contact me using the administrative e-mail. Thank you. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 18:04, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Deadline Edit

The deadline is November 14th, not October. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 16:05, October 8, 2009 (UTC)

Re: Thanks for the addition of categories Edit

No problem. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 04:59, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

Image sourcing Edit

I just want to remind you real quick, so you're not blocked again, that "Wookieepedia" and "Halopedia" (or Halo Fanon, can't remember which one you put) are not legitimate sources. You need to cite the primary source of File:TIE Predator.jpg and all of those Halo rank insignia images. If the primary source of those rank images is that Halo wiki, as in someone there actually created them, you need a more specific source. I also highly doubt that File:TIE Predator.jpg is a Creative Commons image, as it looks like a canon image. If you got the image from Wookieepedia, just copy and paste their information template. It's easiest to do it that way. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 22:12, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

  • Like I said, you use the primary source. If you got the image from Wookieepedia, you can't put "Wookieepedia." Wookieepedia is not a source at all, unless they're the ones who created the image (such as the FA icon, or something else like that). When using an image from Wookieepedia, the primary source is the source that Wookieepedia cited on their information template. For example, if you were to use a picture of Anakin fighting Obi-Wan on Mustafar and said image came from Wookieepedia, you wouldn't say "Wookieepedia." You'd say Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, because that's the primary source. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 22:16, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

For all those rank insignia, did you (or someone else) take them directly from that Halo Xbox thing, or did you (or someone else) design them based on something in the Halo thing? - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 22:48, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

  • Then you can't license them under Creative Commons, because all rights belong to the copyright owners of the game. They need to be cited as {{Fair use}}. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 22:54, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

Oh, and that also applies to any other copyrighted image you uploaded. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 22:55, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

  • No. The template that you put the source on here at this wiki is the {{Information}} template. Wookieepedia has the exact same thing with the exact same coding, so if you get an image from Wookieepedia just copy and paste that entire thing. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 23:00, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

Good job. I added links to some of them in the description and source sections, and I also categorized every single one. I wasn't going to tell you about the categorization because I didn't want to burden you with that while you were trying to figure out sourcing. The only one I have a question about is File:Imperial Marine Advance Force Operations.jpg. What does it mean when you say "Generated by author in Halo 3?" - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 23:17, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

  • If you're allowed to sell them legally, then yeah they can be public domain because it means they're basically letting you own the rights to them. Anyway, I'm happy to help out. It's really no trouble at all whatsoever. The one thing that I would ask is that, in your signature, you add a link to your talk page for convenience. Also, it may be convenient for you to make the link to your talk page say "Relentless" or something, just so people know who you are. That'd really help out. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 23:24, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

Looks great! - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 21:48, October 10, 2009 (UTC)

Eras Edit

Hey Relentless. Just so you know, eras, such as "Legacy era," shouldn't be mentioned in an article outside of the infobox and the eras template at the top. Eras aren't in-universe names or spans of time, but rather real-world publishing eras. Therefore, mentioning them in the written content of an article is basically OOU. Best thing to do is say something like "So-and-so was a such-and-such during the Second Galactic Civil War," or whatever the time period may be. - Brandon Rhea Alliance Starbird (talk) 21:50, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

Re: RE: SOCOM Edit

I should have some time in the afternoon. What works best for you? - Brandon Rhea Alliance Starbird (talk) 05:21, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

  • I'm normally on unless no one else is. I'll keep it running throughout the afternoon. If I'm not there my name will be marked with "afk" or "bbl" or something. Just give me a ping when you log on and I'll know that you're there. - Brandon Rhea Alliance Starbird (talk) 05:30, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

I'm logging off here for a bit. Hopefully I can catch you later. I'll be leaving for the weekend around 5 or 6 EST, so if we can't talk about the article today then we could try Sunday. - Brandon Rhea Alliance Starbird (talk) 17:55, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

Keldabe Edit

I'm wondering where you got the design for the paint job on the Keldabe-class Battleships in the article about them... did you find it somewhere or just come up with it by yourself? --REauthor (Talk) 16:02, October 26, 2009 (UTC) Unsigned comment by REauthor‎ (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

RE: Hey thanks Edit

No, you can use st, but using it in the {{Title}} template screws up the page's formatting. In the article itself, it is fine. --Darth Wylind (Conference Room) 17:37, November 22, 2009 (UTC)

It's better to use 1st instead of 1st though, IMO, if only because the former is easier to read. - Brandon Rhea Alliance Starbird (talk) 17:54, November 22, 2009 (UTC)

Re: Yo Edit

I'll take a look at it as soon as I get the chance. It's currently the longest article on the wiki, which means that there's probably a lot of stuff that can be divided into other articles or toned down on. - Brandon Rhea Alliance Starbird (talk) 23:39, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Hey RR. It's been a while. Its APS from HF. I haven't talked to you in such a long time. And yeah, I'll currently be "vacationing" here. Currently, I need your help. Exactly, what's going on this site. There's so much information, I don't know where to start. So. Can you help me? Thanks. (= A Survivor of Old They Came. I Fought... Special invitation for RelentlessRecusant!Edit

Hey, you! Yes, you!

You're cordially invited to the 7th Annual Wiki Awards on the Star Wars Fanon Wiki! Come nominate, procrastinate, marinate, and pontificate over the best and brightest of the community's offerings with us! Sample the choicest works with your critical eye (monocle sold separately) and submit your own works for a chance to be enshrined in the annals of Star Wars Fanon history. You might write whatever you want to because it's fun, but getting shiny awards and bragging rights doesn't hurt either, right? We didn't think so.

Don't force yourself into exile, or look for alternative activities this winter. Whether your work is one of the myriad incarnations of Revan, a Sith Lord with a hard-to-pronounce name, or some random teenager's pet pittin, you'll find an entry where it belongs. (Editor's note: "Best Incarnation of Revan" and "Best Hard-To-Pronounce-Sith" did not make the categories list this year.) It's time to break out the ancient Sith armor and capes, the dress uniforms for every soldier, and something to catch the eye for every pretty lass. And did I mention our sponsors include Sarth's Darths, provider of the finest black capes in the galaxy? Join our star-crossed, er…star-studded collection of Star Wars Fanon administrators including Brandon Rhea, Goodwood, and Trak Nar as we celebrate the individualism and creativity on this wiki. And if you thought this announcement was cheesy, you ain't seen nothing yet. (Consider this a warning to those, like Fiolli, who are lactose intolerant.)

So fire up the hyperdrive, hope it doesn't catapult you a few millennia forwards or backwards in time, and head on over to the Seventh Wiki Awards. We'd love for you to nominate deserving works (including yours!) and help us choose the best entries for this year! We can't pick between all the entries without you! And if you see any other special snowflakes who need invited to the extravaganza, just slap this message on their talk page to spread some holiday cheer… or something.

So from two folks who've contributed far more at Wookieepedia than here, who habitually bring you either terrible puns or delicious pasta, please accept our sincerest invitation to the Seventh Wiki Awards. And remember, we're doing this all for the community, because that's what really matters on this wiki. Right? Yeah…

Starcraft Fanon wiki Edit

Hey, I'm contacting you on this wiki because I think you are more active on it. I recently found the Starcraft fanon wiki you made, and I was wondering, as there doesn't seem to be any admins, could you perhaps take some time to make me a admin? Just so I can try get more people involved with it, and have access to things like the ability to change page names.
