[edit] Re:Kudos
If you don’t mind, I’d prefer to respond here since I’ve never really liked using talk pages to talk about things on other Wikis, so I’ll extend that same courtesy to Wookieepedia (unless you would really prefer me to respond there, in which case I will). I was a bit taken aback by your message since I admittedly have no idea who you are (
), but what parts did you like? I’m surprised mostly at your “life changing experience” part, since I don’t really see how it could do that. I’m interested to hear your thoughts in more detail. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 22:51, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- I think I understand what you mean, though. There’s a tendency amongst fan fiction authors, mostly due to inexperience with reality and how to write, to think that the more “awesome” a character is the more everyone will like them. It’s assumed that if they know every power, win every battle, are loved by all the good guys and hated by all the bad guys that it makes for a compelling and interesting story. The fact is that it does the opposite; characters who can do everything and be everything are not interesting. Where’s the fun in knowing that the character is always going to win or is always going to get the girl? The fun is going through the evolution of a character with faults. I highly prefer tragic characters who are destroyed by their faults, which is evident in one of my characters Ussej Padric Bac III and which is something I’m hoping I’m portraying correctly in my yet-to-be-completed Star Wars: Episode I - The Chosen One fan fiction novel. My view is essentially in the quotes from Nicholas Meyer on my user page. Before you had read what I said, what were your views on characters, faults and stuff like that? - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 23:12, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Aduro
For your convenience, I've created Aduro (well, it was already made, I just removed the redirect and created the disambiguation page) so that whenever someone types in "Aduro," they'll be directed to that page to distinguish between articles. These kind of things are done all the time for others' convenience, such as yours, and to be fair to all users who have articles with similar or the same names. Another example I can think of is Malum, and then there is the obvious ones such as Anakin Skywalker. Anyway, just letting you know. Disambiguation pages make it easier for users to find articles and navigate the sit. Cheers. :) --Victor

- Ah, thank you, I'm glad I've pleased a fellow fan. But about Aduro, don't worry about it at all. A lot of Star Wars fans think alike, so similar names (particularly those derived from latin words) are bound to be alike. No worries. :) --Victor

[edit] Publishing
As much as I dislike Karen Traviss, you should take a look at this. She answers the question about how to become a published Star Wars author better than I can. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 18:35, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- I dislike Traviss mainly because of her attitude. She makes a point to suggest that some people who are passionate about Star Wars, and who have been for a long time, have no life and need to get one. I dislike her attitudes towards fans who criticize her as well. For example, she compares the beliefs of those who think differently about the Clones to the beliefs of Nazis, and she uses the phrase "Talifan". That's a slur used to criticize more hardcore fans who are vocal about her, the word being a combination of "Taliban" and "fan". Now, I don't know about you, but I don't have much respect for someone who compares elements of the fanbase to Islamic extremists who oppress and murder innocent people just to keep their iron grip over nations. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 19:26, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Well I'm not a huge fan of her work either, specifically how she's portrayed Mandalorians, but that's neither here nor there. My main issue, as I said, is her attitude. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 19:36, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Pretty much. Hopefully I didn't just destroy your childhood, lol. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 20:32, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

You'd have to do it for every line break, I believe. --Victor

[edit] Era icon
I noticed your message about an era icon, so I wanted to let you know that I can (and will) make it for you. I'll be back in a few with the upload for you, and then I'll show you and add it to {{Eras}} and {{Eraicon}}. --Victor
talk 00:07, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
- Here it is. Just type in {{Eras|tmm}} to get the icon to work on pages. :) --Victor

[edit] Re:Mace Windy
Absolutely. Our Image Policy says that as long as no modifications have been made (cropping, resizing and general stuff don't count as modifications), you can use any image you want. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 22:26, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Images from video games
I'm sorry, I've never taken my own screenshots from the KotOR games. I either found them on file front, IGN (and similar gaming websites), or asked someone else to take them for me. I don't think you can take them from the Xbox, but from the computer versions you can. Sorry. :( --Victortalk 04:25, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Images
Hey, I saw your message on Xenerix's talk page. Just so you know, we're not picky about unsourced images that were uploaded before we started getting serious about the Image Policy. Xenerix hasn't uploaded a single image since June 2007, so we're not really going to go and delete his images unless the copyright holder comes in and complains. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 23:39, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fanon
Ok hi,Here are some of my articles,Sith-venator (Talk) 16:20, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
I believe I've seen Wavingstrider before, but I don't remember running across the other two in the past. In regards to what you said on the Wook, where do they fit in canon? I'm a little too lazy to read for myself. // ~mikah~ 16:25, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Well they don't screw up canon like most fanon does.Sith-venator (Talk) 18:14, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
