Welcome, Mekkai, to Star Wars Fanon, the Star Wars wiki of fan invention!

As a community, we strive to maintain a fun and creative atmosphere for all users—who we call Fanoneers—while also maintaining a sense of encyclopedic quality that we can show off and be proud of. The best way to help with that is for you, our newest Fanoneer, to begin creatively expressing yourself with your article writing, and to get involved with the community! Need some help with your writing? We're here to offer that help in the Writing Center! Want to work with others? Join a FanonProject! The Senate Hall can also be used for asking about anything relating to Star Wars Fanon, including help in following our policies.

You're probably saying, “How can I get involved?” There are a number of ways that you can do that, which are all listed below, so we encourage you to check those out! Very importantly, there are also a number of policies that you will need to be cognizant of and agree to follow so you can have the best time possible, and to help make our great wiki even greater!

Star Wars Fanon is not about administrators, nor is it about the people who have been given accolades or awards. This wiki is about you, the community member and the valued writer. So long as a sense of encyclopedic standard is maintained, this wiki will continue to be the absolute best it can be, especially once you get involved in our community!

Joining the communityEdit

Hey, Mekkai! Sorry if this added message seems a bit overwhelming after the huge welcome message you just received, but what I wanted to say is important enough to re-emphasize it here. I wanted to make sure you were as aware as possible of the fantastic community we have here on the wiki. There is literally so much to do beyond just working on your own articles. I definitely don't want to sound like I'm suggesting you shouldn't work on your own articles, but there's a larger community out there too and we'd all love for you to get involved! If you have any questions about the community, which I strongly encourage you to participate in, don't hesitate to ask me. Thanks, and once again welcome to Star Wars Fanon! – --Nightmare975 20:13, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Image Policy Edit

Please be sure to read our image policy, as I've seen that you have uploaded a picture without following it. Failure to do so will result in your picture being deleted, failure to do so again will result in a one day ban.--Nightmare975 20:13, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Because you didn't source your images in accordance with Nightmare's above notice, anything you've uploaded has been deleted. Please be aware that, in accordance with the image policy, if you fail to source your images again you will be subject to a short block from editing. Let me know if you have any question. Thank you for your future cooperation. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 01:00, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

No, I mean completely sourcing them using the {{Information}} template. The image policy covers all of this and you need to read it. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 16:08, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Block Edit

You have been blocked from editing for twenty-four hours (one day) for failing to follow the image policy by uploading unsourced images to Star Wars Fanon, despite a previous warning. The image in question was your Jaina Solo image uploaded today, April 6th. The image has also been deleted. When you return from your block, please ensure that you've read and are familiar with our image policy so this does not happen in the future. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you for your future cooperation. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 17:41, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Sourcing Edit

Please stop sourcing images with Star Wars Fan Stories. That source doesn't exist. Please list the original source of the images or they'll be deleted. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 13:16, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

RE: Listen to me Edit

Responses:

  1. Im not doing that, someone else is.
    • I don't get it. What do you mean?
  2. I TRIED to follow the Image policy, but Brandon says im not.
    • Firstly, you're still not sourcing them right. You're saying that Star Wars Fan Stories is a source while it doesn't exist. Secondly, if Brandon says you're doing it wrong, then you're most likely doing it wrong.
  3. Thats not really bad news for me, thanks to my little secret.
    • Would you like to share that secret? I don't like what you're implying; do you have a way to evade blocks or something?

--Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:03, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

What is Star Wars Fan Stories then? Please tell me your secret. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:19, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Can you please provide the names of those accounts? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:24, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

What are their names? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:26, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Blocked Edit

Dialog-error You have been blocked from editing for Sockpuppetry and for not sourcing images.

To contest this block, please contact the blocking administrator with the reason you believe the block is unjustified. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:43, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Hear me out Edit

That's all well and good, but we still don't allow more than one account on this wiki. Had you not said anything we wouldn't have known, but you decided to threaten to ignore our policies and evade blocks by saying that if you're banned you'll just use a sockpuppet. We had to take action and follow our sockpuppet policy because of it. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 00:36, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Unfortunately, and I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but that's your problem. You should have known what it was. As soon as you started editing, someone put a big welcome template on your talk page (you can see it at the top there). It very clearly says that you needed to read our policies before making any further edits. If you didn't heed that advice and continued to edit without knowing our rules, then when you violate the rules you can't use "I didn't know" as an excuse. We did our job in telling you to read them. You didn't do your job when you decided not to read them. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 00:44, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Michael was the blocking administrator. He'll tell you the same thing I'm telling you. All of this is directly routed in policies, so it's not an unjustified block. It's not like I'm making this stuff up here. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 00:51, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

  • You must certainly did put it there as the source, so don't lie and say you didn't. I can see the file history, even on deleted histories. The file histories were also public before the images were deleted. The problem was that "Star Wars Fan Stories" doesn't exist, so you were putting a false source down which is illegal. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 01:06, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm having a hard time believing that. If that's true, why didn't you just tell Michael that instead of saying you had a "little secret" (aka, more than one account) to evade blocks? - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 01:10, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Would you provide me a link to this website? I'm asking only because it'll help me believe you, which right now I'm having trouble doing. If you're telling the truth, just realize it won't change anything though. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 01:14, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Well now I know you’re not telling me the truth about seeing “Star Wars Fan Stories” as the source on those websites. The image of Jaina Solo, Image:JainaWar.jpg, is from The New Essential Guide to Characters. The Bianca image also would have come from Starfox, so why would you put down a false source like “Star Wars Fan Stories” knowing full well that it’s a Starfox image? - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 01:34, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Telling me "one of two things" means absolutely nothing. What are those "two things"? - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 19:41, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Well, I checked the file history on the Wookieepedia image, for example, and it has never said "Star Wars Fan Stories". I also doubt that someone hacked your account. I think you put it there and now you're trying to make excuses, like the usual "oh no I think my brother logged onto my account" excuse that people use every day on so many different boards. You don't even need to make excuses. The point is, just don't do it again. I'm now done with this conversation. Thank you. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 23:53, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 23:57, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Third block Edit

You have once again been blocked from editing for not following the image policy. This block will last for seven days (one week). Your images have also been deleted. Quite frankly, I'm getting sick and tired of your excuses, so I don't want to hear them anymore. "The wiki I found it on didn't have a source" is not an excuse. If you don't know the source, you cannot upload the image. Let me make this perfectly clear:

Under NO circumstances can you upload an image without a source or a licensing template.

I don't want to have to tell you this again. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 20:41, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Sources Edit

Then if you're going to upload the images, use the proper sources. If you upload improperly sourced or unsourced/unlicensed images again, you will be blocked for one month in accordance with our policies. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 19:57, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

And I've now removed it from the article. That's a user-made image by Kalas Grengar and you cannot use user-made images without the permission of the user. Seriously, if you're not going to read our policies, then just stop. Having to constantly deal with you is becoming absurd. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 20:42, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

  • If you're going to move to another wiki then that's your loss, not ours. And vandalize your pages? We have policies against vandalism. I wouldn't expect you to know that, though. After all, reading our policies is clearly too much trouble for you. Good luck on a wiki that doesn't enforce rules. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 20:46, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Categorization Edit

Per our SWF Categorization policy, "every article must have at lease one category." I've categorization Exu Fichina for you, but I will not do so again. Also, please be aware that per our Manual of Style policy, you must bold the first time the subject of the article is mentioned. I've done this for you on Exu Fichina. Darth Wylind Presidentialseal (Conference Room) (D.W.P.)

RE: I'm Back Edit

You could start by not doing any of those "old tricks". Also, these things take time. Trust will come in time; don't expect instantaneous forgiveness. You may also want to add categories to your William Grey article. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:53, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Per Michael. The only advice I could really give you is not to do what you did before. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 22:05, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

The key to sourcing images is....sourcing them. I don't understand why it took you so long to discover it considering we were basically screaming it at you. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 19:14, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

  • That page that you just mentioned is linked to and stated directly in the image policy. You should have known about that when we told you to read the policy a month and a half ago. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 20:48, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
    • I think the point here is that new users don't really read the policies. -- Joe Butler (Talk to me) 19:46, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
  • After this much time and this many warning, he should've have read them. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:48, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

RE: News Edit

I think that you got Brandon all wrong. Unless you're joking with him, Brandon would most likely take your declaration of suicide seriously. If you don't like talking to Brandon, you can speak to another administrator or to me. The good thing about having many administrators is that you have a variety of people to ask help from; Brandon isn't the only one. Do you need any help? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 00:21, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

He's just doing his job. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 00:24, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

I find this idea that I would tell you to go kill yourself to be offense, so please get over yourself. I take what you say as an excuse because of your track record here. You have constantly given me reasons to try to excuse your policy violations, but they’re not legitimate excuses. If you want me to believe what you say then you’re going to have to prove to me that you’re actually going to follow our guidelines. If you prove that to me, then of course I’ll believe what you say. If you continue to make excuses and continue to violate our policies, then I have no reason to believe anything you say. You can’t blame me for not taking you at your word considering my experience with having to deal with you. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 00:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

If it's only one of two wikis that requires this, which I highly doubt, then the others are doing it wrong. We're following copyright law by requiring proper attribution. If those other wikis don't want to do it then that's their problem. As Michael just said, what other wikis do with themselves is of no concern to us. And saying I would "probably" tell you to kill yourself "if" you said you were going to doesn't exactly make what you said unoffensive. Wink - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 19:03, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

  • What wasn't very nice? If you're talking about what happened to your message, I didn't remove it. That would be against our archival policy. I simply moved it to a new section at the bottom of my talk page, since it's now part of a new conversation rather than the old one found in "I'm Back". Also, please stop forgetting to sign your messages. You can do it by typing ~~~~ after your message. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 19:25, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Lol...! -- Joe Butler (Talk to me) 19:48, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Would you like to share that secret with me? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 16:45, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Who would that be? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:22, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Moblin slayer? That's an anti-climatic response to all this nonsense. Do you have anything important to say? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:37, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

There are plenty of properly sourced Transdoshan images to choose from. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 23:31, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Can you draw one in, or copy and paste it on there? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 23:37, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

You could download the GIMP; it's free. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 23:49, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

http://www.gimp.org/. However, if you or your parents are any doubts about it, then you probably shouldn't use it. I just use the GIMP so I wouldn't have to buy any software from Adobe. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 23:56, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Sure. The first thing you need to do is to add a category to it. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 16:46, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Alright, I will. It needs to be rewritten. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:29, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

On the top of the page, there are a few templates that tells you what needs to be fixed. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:33, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Please see the Content policy. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:38, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Happy birthday in advance. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:48, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't really go to parties anyway. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 00:02, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Depends. You should try talking to the abusive administrator first. If that doesn't work, you should bring it to the attention of the wiki's community. If any further action is needed, you should contact Wikia staff members. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 03:03, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

It still doesn't meet my standards. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 20:15, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Ask Brandon Rhea; he placed it up for deletion. There are a ton of spelling and grammar issues, and the writing style is poor. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 20:34, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Alright. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 20:42, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

So who would be the club's president? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 18:42, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Who's Clank 720? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 18:49, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Image deletion Edit

I deleted the image you uploaded a few minutes ago, as it's a duplicate of File:Necrosis1.jpg. In the future, when you're prompted with the screen that says an image you're about to upload is a duplicate of a pre-existing image, do not upload the image. Just use the one that's already there. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 19:41, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Odd, it normally does. Also, as I've told you before, please sign your comments that you leave on people's talk pages. You do this to Michael and me constantly, forcing us to add the {{Unsigned}} template after your comments. All you have to do is type ~~~~ after your comments and it will produce your signature. Please stop neglecting to do this. Thank you. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 19:49, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Personal attacks Edit

Please don't tell users such as Obi maul12 that "[you're] sick of [them]". It may be considered a personal attack. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:39, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. It's fine now. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:46, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Wow...I didn't say anything negative towards you whatsoever, only that most users don't read the policies. Seriously. EDIT: "It wasn't meant to be a personal attack." Hah! What was it, then? A friendly notice? I'd like to know why you felt the need to say that. -- Joe Butler (Talk to me) 03:53, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Let it go. This whole thing had nothing to do with Obi maul12, so we don't need you two getting into an argument. Thank you. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 17:24, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

But I just would like to know what he's considering an insult. -- Joe Butler (Talk to me) 18:01, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Oh, I wasn't laughing at you, I just was just laughing at the whole conversation, that's all. -- Joe Butler (Talk to me) 18:35, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Mass deletion stuff Edit

I'll look at it in the next few days. Don't worry, no article will be deleted until the end of July. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 04:01, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Birthday Edit

Happy birthday. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 15:58, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

RE: You get the Picture? Edit

Yes, I got the picture now. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:59, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I already said that I had the picture. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 18:03, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Two-hundred-word introductions are only enforced on Good and Featured articles, so don't worry about that. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 18:13, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: I need help Edit

I'll look at your articles when I get a chance. Also, I really don't care what your opinion of Kalas Grengar is, so please keep that to yourself. Thank you. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 18:23, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Seriously, knock it off and quit being a disruption. Thank you. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 18:32, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Gee, I'm devastated. What ever will I do? Sad - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 18:45, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Block Edit

You have been blocked for forty-eight hours (two days) for disruptive behavior due to your constant posts, comments, and trolling on my talk page and Michaeldsuarez's talk page. Just to let you know, since I have this funny feeling you're going to accuse me of abusing my powers, I'm not the only one who decided to ban you. I spoke to Michaeldsuarez before blocking you, so I'm not acting alone here. We hope that when you return your behavior will be more productive and constructive rather than the way you have been conducting yourself here since you registered. Thank you. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 18:57, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Also, do not use your multiple IP addresses to edit or speak with us during your block. Doing so is considered ban evasion and will result in an increase in the length of your block. If you want to contact an administrator about your block, please use Special:EmailUser or the administrative email. Thanks. - Brandon Rhea Rebel symbol Blue (talk) 18:59, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
