Star Wars Fanon is not about administrators, nor is it about the people who have been given accolades or awards. This wiki is about you, the community member and the valued writer. So long as a sense of encyclopedic standard is maintained, this wiki will continue to be the absolute best it can be, especially once you get involved in our community!

Joining the community
Edit
Hey HubrisP! Sorry if this added message seems a bit overwhelming after the huge welcome message you just received, but what I wanted to say is important enough to re-emphasize it here. I wanted to make sure you were as aware as possible of the fantastic community we have here on the wiki. There is literally so much to do beyond just working on your own articles. I definitely don't want to sound like I'm suggesting you shouldn't work on your own articles, but there's a larger community out there too and we'd all love for you to get involved! If you have any questions about the community, which I strongly encourage you to participate in, don't hesitate to ask me. Thanks, and once again welcome to Star Wars Fanon! – -- Brandon Rhea (Talk) 20:03, May 28, 2011
Your articles
Edit
Hi HubrisP, I'm glad to see that you're making great edits and adding content to this wiki. However, some of your articles don't quite fit with our manual of style and layout guide. For instance, you need to rewrite Darth Thiole (ERS) in the past tense. I did this for one of your other pages already. Also, bold the names of the character in the intro, using the three ''', (e.g.'''Insert name here'''). This is simple a friendly reminder. Don't be discouraged. If you need anything, please ask me. And by the way, you need to wait a couple of days after you register your account with wikia to be able to upload images. Thanks -- Savage1138 19:03, May 31, 2011 (UTC).
- No problem. I'm always happy to help new users, (or any user actually, they don't have to be new). --Savage1138 19:13, May 31, 2011 (UTC).
- Cool. Regardless, if you need anything, I'm around. --Savage1138 19:23, May 31, 2011 (UTC).
Just another reminder, you must write all of your articles in the past tense unless they are out of universe.
- Darth Reliquiae (ERS)
- Darth Flumen (ERS)
- Darth Politicus (ERS)
- Darth Prudentia (ERS)
- Darth Thiole (ERS)
all must be rewritten in the past tense. If you need any other help, ask me. Good luck. Thanks -- Savage1138 20:58, May 31, 2011 (UTC).
- I did Darth Politicus (ERS) for you. Does it make sense now? Hopefully you can see what the problem with the other ones is. Thanks -- Savage1138 20:09, May 31, 2011 (UTC).
- Well, you still need to fix all of the above except for Politicus, plus Darth Scientia (ERS) isn't in the past tense either. --Savage1138 20:20, May 31, 2011 (UTC).
I hate to have to tell you again, but you still aren't writing your articles in the present tense. You must write all parts with the exception of the out of universe "trivia" section. Please format the articles correctly. The personality section must be written in the past tense. I'm sorry, but that is the format. If you still do not format them the administrators might have to delete your articles for not following the manual of style and layout guide. Best of luck. Thanks --Savage1138 22:53, May 31, 2011 (UTC).
- To back up Savage's warning here: it is a requirement of the Manual of Style that articles be written in past tense. If you have issues writing articles thus, then write them in a textdoc until you consider them "complete" and then redo the tense to past when it is time to post such articles to the wiki. We—that is to say, other users and the administrators—cannot and will not fix everything for you. It is up to you to choose whether or not to heed the policies, whatever the consequences.

- All in-universe articles are to be written in past tense. As I said, the Manual of Style makes this quite clear. GoodwoodDebating Society10,967 Edits 02:04, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
In-universe is something that all stories are. It refers to story parts of articles, i.e. not the behind the scenes section which is out-of-universe. Alternate universe stories are still in-universe because they're Star Wars stories, thus being part of the Star Wars universe even if it's an alternate storyline. - Brandon Rhea

Re: Images
Edit
Hi, welcome to Star Wars Fanon! Newly created accounts aren't able to upload images until exactly 4 days after registering their account. You registered on May 28th, so you'll be able to upload images sometime by the end of tomorrow. - Brandon Rhea

Empty headlines
Edit
Hi, it is against policy to have empty headlines in an article. It is encouraged that you fill them in as quickly as possible or they may be subject to erasure. Also, sign the end of your user talk comments like this: ~~~~. If you have questions ask any available user or this one. Thank you.I'm the Chosen OneYou must see it... 01:33, June 2, 2011 (UTC)
Edits
Edit
Do not revert my good faith and policy edits as that is the correct way the article should look and it is done by the policy. Continued reversion and disregard will result in the contact of administration. If you have questions contact me or another user.-I'm the Chosen OneYou must see it... 18:17, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
- You are not allowed to have links in the headlines of your articles. They are confined to the infobox or the main text.-I'm the Chosen OneYou must see it... 18:48, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
First of all, sign your comments. Second, it doesn't matter if they are important, if they fail policy they will be deleted. By the way, biography and history serve the same purpose and to have both is redundant. Don't include "History" if you are going to have biography as the heading.-I'm the Chosen OneYou must see it... 18:52, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, it is better. I am going to insert a template (won't change a thing) that will serve you better. Also, to sign your comments, hold shift down and press this "~" key four times. That will make the signature.-I'm the Chosen OneYou must see it... 19:02, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah it is fine. I was sort of difficult too.-I'm the Chosen OneYou must see it... 19:14, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
- You have point of view descriptive words. Saying something is kind or powerful is point of view. To un-POV it, you basically need to say why he was kind or powerful and who thought that about him. Example, Mace Windu was described as powerful, by his fellow Jedi and civilians because he created his own lightsaber style. Another, Palpatine was thought to be very powerful, according to Jedi historians, because he was able to deceive the entire Jedi Order of his true identity, while in their midsts. Those statements are not POV.-I'm the Chosen OneYou must see it... 19:28, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
Force Legend
Edit
Hi, you do not have the right to put the Force Legend category on any of your pages. You must get permission from Darth Wylind in order to do so.-I'm the Chosen OneYou must see it... 03:14, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
Your articles, again.
Edit
In spite of continued notification and cleanup efforts by fellow users, your articles still fail the requirements set by the Manual of Style and the Layout Guide. If you have problems in understanding the policies, ignorance is not an excuse. Cheers, TK999 16:34, September 5, 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's primarily tense plus naming conventions. Cheers, TK999 16:44, September 5, 2011 (UTC)
Also, please do not add headings unless you are actually going to fill them and please do not mention out-of-universe appearances inside the in-universe articles' body. Trivia are also discouraged. Cheers! TK999 16:40, September 7, 2011 (UTC)
- You should put all real-world info about an in-universe thing into "Behind the scenes," written in prose and not as a list. Cheers! TK999 16:47, September 7, 2011 (UTC)
Re: Noted territories
Edit
You'll need to use a wikitable for that, I think. You can find several description pages for them, most notably this one and this one as well as this one. Cheers! TK999 17:31, November 21, 2011 (UTC)
Re: Ships
Edit
Hello. The brackets—wikilinks—are not necessary; the primary rules regarding ships is that the names of unique ships as well as class names are to be italicized, e.g. “the Tantalus was a Hammerhead-class cruiser.” However, if you are referring to the class, in which case the hyphen is absent, you don't have to italicize it, e.g. “ships of the Victory class were popular with smaller governments.” Regarding the series initials, there's no rule that says you should display them, as they are only necessitated if there is another article with the same name. Cheers, TK999 17:56, December 1, 2011 (UTC)
Page blanking
Edit
Hi. Please do not remove all content from pages, even if you are improving it. Instead, please place {{Improving}} on the top of the current text until you add the new text. Or, if you wish to remove all of the previous text, please leave at least a sentence of new content behind. Thanks. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:00, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

Re:OST
Edit
Not that I am aware of. TK999 19:29, January 17, 2012 (UTC)
- The information template is required if you want to upload a song or piece. If you are asking about how to put it on a page, it works similarly to a hyperlink. Be advised: You will need to convert required audio file into a .ogg (or its variations .oga and .ogv) for it to work on a page. Wikia does not support the more common .avi, .wmv, .mp4 or .mp3 files.-I'm the Chosen One 20:08, January 17, 2012 (UTC)
Number of images
Edit
Hey Hubris. I just thought you'd be interested in knowing that File:Speleers121.jpg is the 11,000th image uploaded to Star Wars Fanon. Way to go! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 05:41, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
Re:Deletion template
Edit
In case you didn't read TK's comment, you may use the {{Delete}} template. Just be sure to add a reason like "author request" when you ask for deletion of your pages AND say you want the page deleted in the edit summary. That makes the admin's job easier and ensures your page will be deleted as quickly as possible. Happy editing!-I'm the Chosen One 22:21, January 25, 2012 (UTC)
Morium
Edit
Just a message that "morium" is the plural possessive form of the noun morēs, which is always plural, so it might not be the best option to use; morēs can be both the nominative and the accusative, thereby making it a better candidate. TK999 16:55, January 26, 2012 (UTC)
- You have it on your user page. "Morium" would mean "[something] of morals/ways/characters etc.," while "morēs" means just "morals/ways etc." TK999 17:03, January 26, 2012 (UTC)
Poll
Edit
Hello, I was wondering if you could fill out the polls on my user page. I am taking a survey to see who elso agrees that starwars.com should sell lightsaber crystal replicates. Thanks! Teff 21:35, January 30, 2012 (UTC)
Friendly warning 2
Edit
The article you created recently, Darth Valens (RotSEs), was deleted because you forgot to actually finish the article. Per our Manual of Style and Layout Guide, you must include categories in addition to any other information, formatted appropriately. You can recreate the article at any time with the rest of the information you had intended to convey. GoodwoodDebating Society10,967 Edits 04:02, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
File names
Edit
Before you upload a file that has a long, random string of letters and numbers, please rename it to something else. Anything else. If it's an image of an actor or actress, name it after that person. But, avoid uploading files that have very long random strings of characters in the file name. Rename those first, then upload them. Thanks. Trak Nar Ramble on 03:58, April 24, 2012 (UTC)
