[edit] Potential FA
Hey Drewton, I was looking at your FAs and GAs and was wondering if there's any way you could expand the intro for First Duel in the Chancellor's Office (Drewton) by 70 words to get it to the magic 200? I think that if you did that you'd have a featured article on your hands. - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 01:49, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
- I also just noticed that, somehow, it was never put onto the Main Page as a good article. Would you like it to be showcased beneath the featured article next week before we begin the random GA thing, or does it not matter to you? - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 01:53, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
- So there's something for the main page this weekend, right? I wouldn't normally nominate it for FA status, but since it's needed, sure. Featuring it on the main page as a GA doesn't really matter to me, I don't really like the story content the article was based on now anyway. There's not much more I can add to the intro as the actual duel was only a few shots long but I'll see what I can do. Drewton

I don't much care anymore whether an article is on the Main Page for 1 week or 4. I'm not asking so we can rush this through by Saturday evening, but rather because I think it's a good potential candidate. Besides, there's a current nomination that will be finished up by Saturday evening, and if I wanted something for the weekend I'd probably just write it myself. =P - Brandon Rhea

[edit] Lightsaber Effects
I think I'll take you up on your offer to put lightsaber effects on Hayai Oujou's main picture. I'd do it myself, but my I lost my editing software with a computer crash and I haven't been able to get it back on. I'd appreciate it if you could do the editing for me. Thanks for your vote and your time.Cyril Khan (Talk) 14:39, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, done and sorry I took so long! I didn't know which lightsaber colour you'd like so I chose blue since it's kind of the standard. I at first was just doing the normal realistic-style lightsaber effect I usually do, but then I realized that it didn't work well on a cartoon image so I tried making a cartoon-ish lightsaber blade, trying to replicate the effect from the old Clone Wars series. This was the result. If you'd like me to change anything, let me know. I don't you if you'd want to use it, but I made another version with some more effects to make it a less less Avatar and more Star Wars. Let me know if you'd like me to change anything on either. [edit] Cover
Hey, Drew, I was wondering if you could make a simple cover for me. All I need is this pic [1] with 'INCIDENT AT AB-334' emblazoned on it in cool font, with any effect needed to make it look slicker. If you can do it, I'd really appreciate it, and if you can't, then no worries. Unit 8311

[edit] Blog
I see you have a blog as well. It looks awesome. Could you tell me the e-mail address your Word Press account is registered under? I'll use that to give you admin rights at the SWF blog. - Brandon Rhea

Done. By the way, if you have time tonight, would you mind taking a look at the FAN of 23 BBY (ASWS)? I wouldn't ask, but it's only one vote shy and no one else seems to be looking at it. - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 02:55, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. Yeah, sure. I'll look at all the other ones as well (although not all tonight obviously, lol). Drewton
(Drewton's Holocron) 03:52, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
Lol, yeah, that'd be overkill. Thanks. You have any new FAs up your sleeves now that you're rebooting TDL? - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 03:55, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, assuming I get the first story-arc done in January, I'll have all the first three episodes uploaded from a time of three days to three weeks (haven't decided yet), which gives a lot of content to work with in a short amount of time. First actual content I'll have had done in almost a year :P ! Drewton

[edit] No deletions
- "Last in-universe article. I'll be retaining most of the old versions as separate pages from the new rebooted versions."

Thank you. I want to take a baseball bat to everyone who deletes all their GAs and FAs instead of just putting {{Cut}} on top, lol. - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 17:27, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
- Lol, yeah, I hate that too. I'm not too proud of most of my pre-reboot content, but deleting FAs and GAs does get quite messy. Drewton
(Drewton's Holocron) 22:21, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
Honestly, I've been tempted on multiple occasions to propose a "you can't delete FAs and GAs" rule, but I know it'd get shot down. Personal preference and all that crap blah blah blah, lol. - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 22:23, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I suppose there'd be a way that that could maybe work...not with articles that already have either status, but by putting in the requirements for nominations something like that you agree that they can never be deleted assuming the nomination is successful. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd definitely support that. Drewton
(Drewton's Holocron) 22:27, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
We could always just make it a blanket rule including all current FAs and GAs. If any author of a FA or GA that was raised to the status BEFORE (not after, just before) the rule was implemented wanted to opt out, we could always let them put their name on a list or something. - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 22:33, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, that might work. Drewton

[edit] Journal of the Whills (ASWS)
Hey Drewton, if you have a chance, could you take a look at the FAN of Journal of the Whills (ASWS) sometime tonight? It's already got nine votes, but it still needs one more Seer vote. - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 01:14, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting that vote in. Out of curiosity, have you read the new version of TCO (in its current form) yet? Just wondering since I'm just about done with Tatooine and I'd be interested to hear if anything there made your opinion of the Ophuchi better or worse. If you're interested, I'd like to have an in depth convo with you on IRC about the Ophuchi, just since I enjoy that type of critical discussion. I'm available now if you're at all interested. - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 01:53, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, no, I haven't read some of the more recent TCO chapters, although I'd genuinely like to and plan to, because of how much I've been working on multiple projects. But now that I'm more active on SWF again, taken a break from two of them, and will have much more time around Christmas, hopefully I'll be able to read a few chapters within the next week or two and give them a review. Drewton

Alright, sounds good. Hopefully by Christmas I'll have the final three chapters of Part 1 out, which is a good place to do a "so far" review. Outside of a review, I'd also still like to do that in-depth conversation at some point, if you're up for it. Saying a few things on blogs is one thing, but real time discussions also go really well IMO. Like I said, I enjoy the critical discussions. Up to you. - Brandon Rhea
(talk) 02:02, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
- Glad to hear that you think that my criticism is constructive - I've tried to criticize constructively the photonovel of a member on another message board and they didn't take that well...at all
. I enjoy giving my thoughts on it, and having a discussion on IRC (or some other chat thing, because my computer hates IRC :P ) would probably be better instead of a posted review at all then. Anyways, just let me get a bit more up-to-date on it (maybe just two chapters, which I can finish quickly) and then we can discuss it. I'd read the next two chapters and be able to discuss those as well soon after, just to make that clear. Assuming I have them read in the next day or two, tomorrow night most likely won't be good for me, but Wednesday probably would. Drewton
(Drewton's Holocron) 02:22, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
Well any criticism that's founded in something rational is constructive, so long as you're not being a jerk about it. Will I actually change the storyline because of your Ophuchi criticisms? I doubt it, since we are at an impasse over that, but I like the critical discussions just to get me to think and stuff like that. And my philosophy is that if you can't take polite constructive feedback, show your work to your parents instead of the internet, lol. - Brandon Rhea

[edit] Youngla0450 is Back
Drewton, you remember me? I am the person you told to NOT edit other articles that one time, when I was young and ignorant. I have avoided this wiki some times and so I would like to make sure if I could like make my own Galactic Republic article, one without Palpatine. Would that like, mess with the wiki? --Larry Young (Talk) 02:18, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, of course that would be alright! All that was the problem before was that you were editing a version that was not yours, but you're completely free to make your own Galactic Republic article. Drewton
