[edit] Do you do Photoshop?

I asked Solus if he does Photoshopped images for the users here and he said not anymore and to turn to you or that you know someone that does Photoshop requests. Can you help me?

--Jedi_Scum 21:44, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Assuming you still want the one you requested of Solus, sure, I'll make it. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:13, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
  • THANKS! Just put the Elite in Jabba's Palace, probably at the right side, maybe change his lighting to fit in the palace. -- Jedi_Scum 10:21, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
    • How's this? Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:45, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
      • Nevermind, just saw what you added. Is there any specific picture you want me to use for the elite? I'm not very familiar with Halo. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:45, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Here's the pics just in case.

Just put the Elite in the Jabba's Palace pic, try to make it REALLY fit in if you can. Thanks ALOT! Jedi_Scum 20:43, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

It was ok, I just needed the Arbiter's body, not the whole picture. --Jedi_Scum 19:27, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] RE:Cruentus

That's brilliant! Just add 'Star Wars' above it and it'll be perfect! Thanks! Unit 8311Talk! 11:55, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Alright, great, and done. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:49, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Awesome, thanks. Unit 8311Talk! 14:56, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
      • No problem. :) Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:56, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Status

Having just read your recent blog, I want to know what's your progress on your CUSFWN stuff, as my deadline's approaching? Will I need to extend it? Unit 8311Talk! 16:47, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

  • My C Drive happens to be fine though, but I still don't have access it yet. I probably won't be able to make the deadline. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:24, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Image "steal"

Um...What image did I steal? I got all of the images from image search. The user probably also used the image search to find his image. I did not steal any image. I would never do anything like that. None of the images on image search had a copyright! This was all a misunderstanding. What image was it I stole? Please provide a link to the exact image. SWBVDM 13:13, 29 March 2009 (CAT)

  • The images were Image:Idnum_nihilus_duel.jpg and Image:Master_Jamie.jpg. The latter was based on an official Star Wars image, but still, even only the colour being changed means you'd have to ask permission to use it. Please just make sure you check the source, artist, filespecs, and licenses of the images before using them. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:00, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
I am sorry for using the images without permission. This will never happen again, I gan gaurantee you that. We got off on the wrong foot, and I hope that we can become friends. SWBVDM 21:30, 29 March 2009 (CAT)
It's fine, it was an honest mistake. Don't worry about it. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 13:03, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Shall I delete the images I "stole?" Thanks for not holding a grudge! SWBVDM 19:08, 31 March 2009
Why does it say that I am the Editor in Chief? Or does it say that to every User? SWBVDM 10:17, 1 April 1009 (CAT)
No, I removed them from the article already. And that's probably something for April Fools, lol. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 13:48, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
I see... SWBVDM 22:07, 1 April 2009 (CAT)

[edit] Special CASWFN Edition

April 1, 2009
The Completely ALTERNATIVE Star Wars Fanon Newsletter

Volume 1, Edition 1 - April, 2009

Greetings, mortals comrade citizens of the Star Wars Fanon community. We have here for you a very special message.

[edit] Friends, fanonites, countrymen, lend me your ears…er, eyes…whatever…just run the tape

Welcome to another issue of CUSWFN CASWFN, delivered fresh to your user talk page/subpage for April, 2009! Inside this issue, we have a interview with Solus, as well as a picture of the day, fanon updates, Star Wars merchandise page, Star Wars Fanon news, FA/GA updates, and user comments. In other words, everything that this publication should normally have, but usually doesn't, or doesn't have to the satisfaction of the majority (or at least a vocal minority) of the readers. However, first we have a special address from the editor for the main newsletter page:

By now, you've probably realized that this issue is not part of the CUSWFN, nor is it written by the usual culprits. No, instead we got tired of waiting around for the *actual* CUSWFN and decided to make our own, special one-issue-only release. We're not sure what happened to the actual heads. Word has it one of them is busy with the Communist party and the other is playing with children's toys. Please direct all complaints to them and not us. Especially since we're not revealing our names. In fact, we just conned Ataru into uploading this for us because he's a convenient fall guy.

As such, this issue is labeled the CASWFN, the Completely Alternative Star Wars Fanon Newsletter, due to the fact that it is not part of the standard newsletter. And, since it's not part of that mess, we felt that we could take a few more creative liberties with the content. As such, there is no compunction for us to be as serious in this issue, so you might find the content a bit more satirical. The date of this release also has something to do with that. Our goal is both provide a level of humor and content missing from CUSWFN issues, and frankly, to have fun with this publication. We hope you'll enjoy this special release of CASWFN, and remember, if you've been wishing you got more issues of the usual newsletter, talk to the normal heads.

[edit] Re: ASWS movie

Despite the fact that the ASWS has been canceled, I'll be suing you for doing this without my permission. I've hired the lawyers from a great organization to represent me. These guys represent the best of justice and would never do anything to break the law or mislead anyone like you have. You can find out more about them here. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 13:58, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Bah, Americans. Your copright laws can go straight to hell. I wasn't even doing it for profit. And those lawyers are from just a small, barely noticed wordwide country anyway. Especially compared to our Mounties. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:21, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Don't be so naive. You know my lawyers will defeat you. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 14:23, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Not those Sith. Those Sith would never support you because of the Sith (ASWS) File:Tongue.gif Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:25, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Emergency

  • Heh, that actually scared me when I rolled over the link lol Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 15:05, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Applaud

I saw your message to Bac, and my initial instincts were "Oh, for Christ's sakes, sucking up to Bac, eh?" Despite having seen all the rickroll links, despite obviously knowing what the day is... I clicked it. I applaud you, Andrew; that was a pretty damn good one. File:Wink.gif -- (talk) (contributions) 15:36, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Lol, thanks. With so many people doing work for ASWS lately I thought it might sound at least slightly believable. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 15:45, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] RE:CUSFWN

Yeah, it was kinda an April Fools. I was intending to make it a kinda aprils fools issue, with an 'interview' with Vladimir Putin and other piss-taking. But if you've got time, please put all the stuff you've wanted. I'm extending the deadline to the fourth. We musn't rush the issue, but we musn't delay it for months like we've done before. Let's put a end to the whining once and for all. File:Smile.gif Unit 8311Talk! 17:36, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Alright, LOL, I thought it was a joke, I just wanted to make sure since we talked about the previous deadline before. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:11, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
    • I'd like a progress report, Drewton. We're on the verge of going into serious procrastination again--at least, that is how it'll look like to some--so I'd just like to know how far you've got with whatever you've got planned. If you haven't made much progress, I'm afraid I'll have to consider pushing out the edition to avoid yet more complaints. Unit 8311Talk! 18:52, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] You

  • Hey Drewton, I have alot to do in my personal life right now, so I was thinking that I would hand over control of my articles to you until further notice. If you want to fix up any of my articles or even expand on a few things go right ahead. You are the person I feel is the best suited to look after my work.TroybShadowFeed 19:16, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Alright, thanks Troyb. I don't know whether I'll be able to do much on them, but I'll do some cleanup in a few areas. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 14:13, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Image Trouble

Hi Drewton. I have recently been having trouble with uploading images onto my articles. Even though the images I'm trying to upload are from the fanon site and is sourced and all that, it still says that I need to specify the file name first. I have found no possible way of doing this and so I kinda need some help. Could you possibly help me? Baddabaddastudios (Talk) 02:18, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

  • I just try to find images that are already on the Fanon. It's what I've pretty much always done, but recently it hasn't been letting me actually put them on my articles. I try to use images when I'm on my other computer and it works. Baddabaddastudios (Talk) 13:45, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
  • I search for an image. Once I find the one I'm looking for, I click on it,type in a caption in the captions box and click upload. Then it's supposed to bring the image to my artcile, but it says that I need to specify the file name.Baddabaddastudios (Talk) 17:39, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
  • I'm not uploading new images to the site. i'm using ones already on the site. When I use the box that says find, I search for an image. Once I find it, I click on it and there is a caption box when I use it.Baddabaddastudios (Talk) 21:16, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
  • It must have been something wrong with my computer. I just tried and it's working again.Baddabaddastudios (Talk) 21:20, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Quoting you

"Use the old Clone Wars timeline. The new series is a joke compared to preestablished canon." Indeed! I enjoy the show tbh, but the whole screwed up timeline is plainly retarded. Plus Anakin in TCW is nothing like the Anakin we saw in the films. That's all I had to say. :P –Victor (talk page) 04:52, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Yeah. Not only is Anakin completely different, the Jedi Council is towards him, as well. In the films, they never trusted him, while in TCW they make him a Jedi Knight on literally day one of the Clone Wars and gave him another person to be attached to, thinking he'll be fine when that person's taken away from him, when times in the past have proven that ridiculous. And the Jedi Council would laugh if Obi-Wan suggested that they give him a Padawan - they were already hesitant to make him a Knight in the old Clone Wars. I've heard that the series will be seven weeks into the war, and nearly everything of the old continuity will be compressed into seven weeks. Leeland Chee just needs to declare TCW non-canon to make things easier File:Tongue.gif Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 12:31, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Indeed, I especially dislike Ahsoka Tano and anything about her. Cliché sidekick character. Or whatever. As well, Cad Bane is the newest-Mary Sue to Lucas's collection and he reeks of unoriginality, implausibility. That last episode with him was ridiculous! (no one can takeover the Senate Building. Otherwise anyone could just get in an assassinate Palpatine at any given time. Stupid.)–Victor (talk page) 04:04, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Short note

Just wanted to thank you for replacing those images I used for my TFU-related essay (Empirical) with higher-quality ones. Have a good day, Drewton. -MPK (MPK's Talk Page) 18:18, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

  • No problem, and likewise. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 19:23, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Request for Seership page

I just wanted to make you aware of this page that I created last night, as well as the nominee that's there. - Brandon Rhea (talk) (contribs) 19:35, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Image

Sorry about that image I uploaded, I wasn't really sure how to do it, even after reading through the instructions. Anyway, how do I add the information template to the picture?Ultrabountyhunter (Talk) 01:54, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

It doesn't seem to be working. I've filled out the neccesary fields and selected the type of licensing but when I click Upload file it doesn't do anything.Ultrabountyhunter (Talk) 02:37, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Sort of an issue...

I got an email today, well, three emails to be exact, that were about the deletion of some of my pictures. Well, everything seems to be just fine, except for several things here:

  • It was said in the letter that "The summary of the edit is: "User was warned a few days after upload, image was not sourced correctly."" - There was no notification actually. No notice given... I've received no warnings these days.

The only one about pictures was for the very first one uploaded (it was last year), that still remains as it has all necessary information provided.

  • The pictures, that were deleted, were created by me. I provided the information on that... Yes, I created them in Photoshop, but still I was the creator of the emblem, that was deleted. It has never been used in any other source.

It's difficult to emphasize anything else of particular, but I just want an explanation. I can't understand why these three - exactly these three pictures were wiped out so fast, though I uploaded them according to the rules established in the SW Fanon. I couldn't even learn whether it was planned to delete them or not.

Best regards Neterwan (Talk) 15:51, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

  • You'd uploaded them on June 19, and had been warned about Image Sourcing three days later (June 22). None of the three had properly done sourcing. I'm sorry there had been no notification beforehand, I'd just been going through a list of unsourced images last night. If you like, since they were uploaded a while ago, I can restore them now if you'll properly source them within 24 hours. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 16:27, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Yes, please, if that's all right. =) Neterwan (Talk) 16:43, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Alright, restoring them now. :) Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 16:46, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
    • Thank You! I just started correcting the info. I just had a question: Well, about Licensing. E.g. in http://swfanon.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Anarmar0.jpg it is mentioned - "Licensing Fair Use". But a bit lower can be seen:

"This image does not have information on its copyright status. It may be usable under fair use..." Should I write again "Fair Use"? Neterwan (Talk) 17:10, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Big Ooops!

Hey drewton, hope your well. Just letting you know that the anonymous person who made some edits to the article Kentell Leknar who had no account was in fact me... I know weird, I’m not really sure what happened, I was logged out when I thought I was logged in... but it was a total mistake. So yeah just thought id let you know. Kindest regards, Corron Zenith (Talk) 00:25, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Question

What exactly is wrong with my Borvo Anijiliac Biron page? I don't understand the "Good is a point of view" message that and that it may be a subject for the masive deletion. If there's a problem tell me so I fix it, I don't want it to be deleted.--Borvo's vault (Talk) 04:25, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Header spacing

I removed the spacing stuff from MediaWiki:Common.css. Extending the block is fine. Thanks. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:22, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Alright, thanks. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 19:23, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Star Wars logo

Hey Drewton, per your mention here, can you please tell me where/how you get the actual Star Wars logo? –Victor (talk page) 02:46, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Sure, just added it to the discussion. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 02:51, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] RE: IRC Conversations (Comeback)

Thanks for the offer; I really appreciate you asking me to do an interview for a Novel like that. But a Novel with much await in the SWF community and one I know very little about, I would rather you or Brandon would do the interview. You guys would ask the questions people want to know, detailed questions. I really like doing things that I know about, like interviewing JM on Early SWF or DT on the SWF problems and successes. Plus I have little time the coming weeks (school and acting). Thanks anyways. I would though love to interview DT on his novel as I have read his novel’s chapters. File:Grin.gif --Arav (Ancient Grove) (Lost Archives) 05:43, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Darth AT-AT Deletion

I was wondering if you wanted to look for errors in my Darth AT-AT article. I am unable to see anything wrong with it. Thanks. Darth Void (Talk) 19:08, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Image request

Hey Drewton. Mind if I use File:Obiwan darkposter.jpg in Obi-Wan Kenobi (ASWS)? Thanks. - Brandon Rhea (talk) 06:37, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

  • To be honest, since that's from an actual poster for my alternative version, I'd prefer not. But I've found the original image and removed the Padawan braid. Is this alright? It probably works better in the article anyway. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 15:29, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Do you have a version with the Padawan braid? I was looking to use it to represent him when he was still a Padawan. - Brandon Rhea (talk) 19:46, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Sorry for the late reply and the mistake. Yes, I do, here. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 16:56, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] CUSWFN – Edition 23

Welcome to the twenty-third edition of the Star Wars Fanon wiki’s very own Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! For this twenty-third edition, we welcome a new co-editor, Brandon Rhea, to the team! He will be working alongside long-time editor Unit 8311 to bring you the best quality news about the wiki and fan fiction, as well as editorials and opinions essays about Star Wars works, that this wiki has to offer. A little bit of trivia information is that Rhea, along with fellow Star Wars Fanon user Victor Dorantes, has served as the co-editor of the newsletter once before, but he and Dorantes resigned before releasing an issue due to other commitments that required their attention. We are happy that he has returned to us once again!

In this edition, you will be able to learn new exclusive information about fan works such as the Squishy Vic Series and Avian Hunt, as well as read news about other works sponsored by this newsletter. We also have an opinion essay written by our own Unit 8311, and the newly-renamed Picture of the Edition segment. We have also brought you up-to-date information about new policy proposals and other happenings around the wiki, such as the ongoing mass deletion process that is geared towards improving the quality of the wiki.

Speaking of quality, many users have remarked that the last few editions of this newsletter have not met the standards of quality that our readers have come to expect from us. It is our sincerest hope that this edition of the newsletter will be the first of many that will rectify that, as we have spent weeks working on articles, editorials, and other tidbits that we hope you will enjoy. Because we are striving to improve our quality, we very much encourage you to leave your comments and feedback in the User Comments section. Anything you have to say will be appreciated.

As always, thank you for reading the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter. We value your commitment to us, and we hope that you will continue to value our commitment to you!

Edition XXIII

[edit] Article Deletion

Hi, Drewton. I have noticed that a couple of my articles, Glea Talle and Kau-Ja Manew, are scheduled for deletion. The thing is, I can't think of a way to increase their quality. Could you please give me some tips on how to make the articles worthy of SWFanon? This would help a lot since these characters are vital to my version of the "Star Wars universe". Baddabaddastudios (Talk) 21:20, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

  • I just looked over Glea Talle, but overall, it needs some major work to make it more encylopedic and less novel-like, and there's POV such as "It was then that she saw the true meaning of horror". Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 17:04, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Logo

Hey, Drew. Remember when you made the awesome logo for the Star Wars: Cruentus series? Well, do you have time to make an individual one for the first book? Unit 8311Talk! 17:09, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

What is wrong with this article? LethalReflex 17:22, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Request for Seership

Hey, I just wanted to make you aware that there's a new nomination for Seership here. - Brandon Rhea (talk) 19:22, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Thanks for taking a look at it. Also, could you take a look at the current featured article nomination of Order of the Whills? - Brandon Rhea (talk) 20:06, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
    • Sure. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 20:07, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

By the way, for the TSW/TDL interview you mentioned in the last CUSWFN issue, are you or Unit planning to do it? I can do it mostly any time (not doing anything right now). Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 20:36, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Mass deletion page check.

Hello, Drewton. I was wondering if you could okay this article (Dylutch) so that the mass deletion tag may be removed. User:Michaeldsuarez has already said that it is fine, as can be seen on my talk page. I still need three more people to give the all-clear then the tag can be removed. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks. - Walrusman9 (Talk) 19:55, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

  • It looks fine to me, as far as I can tell. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 17:29, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Possible vandalism?

As I was checking my watchlist, I noticed that an anonymous IP address had tagged two of my articles with the MassDelete template. This IP also tagged a couple more articles. Since the tagging period had ended, should this be considered vandalism? The IP hasn't been active since the 15th, but I was wondering what actions, if any, should be taken.--Josh BenderTalk 02:46, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

  • I'll take a look at it. Thanks for notifying me. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 02:48, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

What is wrong with this article? LethalReflex 02:43, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Message removal

Just a tip, you should revert your reversion on LordDeathRay's talk page. It's best to keep it not only so we can see the actual infraction in the future, but also because of the archival policy. - Brandon Rhea (talk) 16:38, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

  • In this case, I think it can be an exception because it could be considered vandalism/disruption, but I've restored it for future reference. Drewton (Drewton's Holocron) 16:45, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. Just for future reference, though, vandalism and disruption aren't really the same as personal attacks unless someone goes on some type of spree. - Brandon Rhea (talk) 16:47, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] CUSWFN – Edition 24

Thank you for your continued commitment to the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Fanon Newsletter! Without you, this edition, albeit somewhat late due to real life matters taking priority for both Unit 8311 and Brandon Rhea, would not have been possible. We hope you enjoy it just as much as we do!
