Welcome, Alexsau1991, to Star Wars Fanon, the Star Wars wiki of fan invention!

As a community, we strive to maintain a fun and creative atmosphere for all users—who we call Fanoneers—while also maintaining a sense of encyclopedic quality that we can show off and be proud of. The best way to help with that is for you, our newest Fanoneer, to begin creatively expressing yourself with your article writing, and to get involved with the community! Need some help with your writing? We're here to offer that help in the Writing Center! Want to work with others? Join a FanonProject! The Senate Hall can also be used for asking about anything relating to Star Wars Fanon, including help in following our policies.

You're probably saying, “How can I get involved?” There are a number of ways that you can do that, which are all listed below, so we encourage you to check those out! Very importantly, there are also a number of policies that you will need to be cognizant of and agree to follow so you can have the best time possible, and to help make our great wiki even greater!

Star Wars Fanon is not about administrators, nor is it about the people who have been given accolades or awards. This wiki is about you, the community member and the valued writer. So long as a sense of encyclopedic standard is maintained, this wiki will continue to be the absolute best it can be, especially once you get involved in our community!

Joining the communityEdit

Hey, Alexsau1991! Sorry if this added message seems a bit overwhelming after the huge welcome message you just received, but what I wanted to say is important enough to re-emphasize it here. I wanted to make sure you were as aware as possible of the fantastic community we have here on the wiki. There is literally so much to do beyond just working on your own articles. I definitely don't want to sound like I'm suggesting you shouldn't work on your own articles, but there's a larger community out there too and we'd all love for you to get involved! If you have any questions about the community, which I strongly encourage you to participate in, don't hesitate to ask me. Thanks, and once again welcome to Star Wars Fanon! – CurrentBigThingSig 15:43, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Warning Edit

If you aren't going to follow our rules of the editing policy, categorization policy, and image policy, then don't contribute here. If you fail to follow the rules again, you will be banned. --Victor, Sr. HoloNet 209 20:59, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Images and categorization Edit

Please be sure to source all of your images appropriately, according to the rules. I saw that you uploaded an image recently. While we're glad you're contributing images, you did not source it as required by the Image Policy. Please take a look at Special:Upload, where it states what you must provide when uploading an image, upon the upload. Basically, you have to use the template {{information}} and fill out the required fields. Remember, if not applicable, you don't have to fill out every field. However, the source and licensing fields are required and have to be filled out. Please go back and add the information template to any images that you uploaded and did not source.

Also, please be sure to categorize all of your articles appropriately, in accordance to our categorization policy. You have recently created one or more articles without a category or a proper one, which means that your article is now a candidate for deletion, unless you fix this up immediately. Therefore please find the appropriate category and place it correctly into your article. Remember to do this in the future, so that you avoid future trouble and conform to our policies. As our policy states, a category must be placed upon creation, not after and exceptions are not given.

If you do not follow these policies, then, unfortunately, the articles and images will be deleted, and if you continue to create articles without categorizing them or uploading images without sourcing them, you will be banned in accordance to the blocking policy. That's the last thing we want to see happen, so I recommend that you fix up any mistakes immediately.

Thank you for your future cooperation. --Squishy Vic discussion archives 20:14, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Jedi Civil War Edit

Welcome back Grin. Please add a category to your article linked above. Thanks! AndeLeg Arav (talk) 09:39, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Please read what I just said and with your article Darth Bastila, add a category! Also add information. It only has a infobox, it must have at least 1 line of information. Thanks for your future co-operation. AndeLeg Arav (talk) 09:46, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
  • That’s better. You still need to add categories to the Bastila and the war. Please fix this up soon. Administrators can delete those articles if not properly categorised in a day. AndeLeg Arav (talk) 10:06, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

In the future, please be sure to add categories to your articles per our Categorization Policy. This needs to be done immediately upon the article's creation. I categorized War of the Returning Darkness (and cleaned it up) for you, but will not do so in the future. Thank you for your cooperation. - President Brandon Rhea Presidentialseal (Pressroom) (Record) 16:09, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

The EmperorEdit

Alexsau1991, you do not just take an article that has already been created, even if it is simply a redirect, and change it! I'm talking about your edit to The Emperor, which redirects to my article Dark Lord of the Decreton Empire; if you wanted to change it into a disambiguation page or something, ask. Before making any further contributions, please re-read our policies, as you are still breaking some. One of these policies is the Categorization Policy. As it says, all articles need to be properly categorized upon creation or they will be deleted. However, I categorized them for you this time. I realize I said I wouldn't do it anymore for you, but when I categorized them I hadn't remembered that I said that. In the future, though, I will not forget. This is your official warning to properly categorize your articles before you receive a short block from editing.

Please also read the Image Policy and source all images you upload. There is no exception to that, as it deals with strict United States Copyright Law, and this is your only warning. If you have any questions about that, or anything else I just said, please let me know. Thank you. - President Brandon Rhea Presidentialseal (Pressroom) (Record) 19:38, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Warning Edit

Please do not create articles with only an infobox, as you did with Collide Wars. If legitimate content is not added to it within 24 hours, it will be deleted. Drewton Era-old (Drewton's Holocron) 16:32, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Blocked Edit

Dialog-error You have been blocked from editing for one day for uploading unsourced images after warnings. To contest this block, please contact the blocking administrator with the reason you believe the block is unjustified. Drewton Era-old (Drewton's Holocron) 23:19, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Articals? Edit

FYI, it is spelled 'articles', not 'articals'. --Victortalk 06:52, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Concerning the Dalek article... Edit

Is that article a free-edit article, as no doubt there are prolly others (myself included) that have a few Daleks mingling with their fan continuity. Rather than create multiple Dalek articles (if the information is general Dalek information rather than centered on a specific character), would it be alright if I expand on the biology section to give the article some more substance? Linking to WookieepediaEdit

Hey, you know you can use {{sw|Article name|name of choosing}} rather than [[w:c:starwars:article name|Name of choosing]]. It accomplishes the same thing and is more efficient.-I'm the Chosen One 21:25, November 1, 2011 (UTC)
