Hi! Welcome to my userpage. Whether you're here because you recognize me from my main work on Wookieepedia, my Archivist duties here, my fan-fiction series, or just randomly, feel free to check out any of the sections below, or leave a message for me on my talk page.
Current activities Edit
- “HANGER FOR YOUR INFIDEL SUIT. HANGAR FOR YOUR INFIDEL SHIPS. do-ro'ik vong pratte'”
- —Atarumaster88's beta-reader on a particularly repugnant error in a draft version of Force Exile V: Warrior
- See my blog for FE updates. Oh, and check out this:
About the author Edit
- “ Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God”
- —Matthew 5:7-9
Atarumaster88 is the author of the Force Exile Series on the Star Wars Fanon wiki. An avowed Star Wars fan from his youth, Atarumaster88 first started his wiki career on Wookieepedia in the summer of 2006 and became an administrator and an established writer there. However, he also began writing the first draft of what is now the Force Exile Series during that time. Thankfully, that's deleted and purged from the archives now, except for Ataru's copy. Ataru is 18<x<100 years old. A significant detail about Ataru is his Christian faith and he seeks to have that displayed in his writing and actions even online. However, despite his belief in the inherent superiority and voracity of his faith, he will respect the beliefs of others, as he seeks to get along with all members of the SWF community. Ataru currently resides on Earth and lives with people.
And for kicks and giggles: Mary Sues and why we hate them.
- My name: You can call me Ataru or even AM88.
- In case you see links to this userpage piped through "Will Enser" or some derivative thereof, that is not my real name. That's a pseudonym I invented for the benefit of others dissatisfied with "Ataru". Do not make a Will Enser article—it's just a pun off the phrase "will answer." The name's Ataru. Just Ataru.
Star Wars Fanon and reviewing policy Edit
- “You seek out the pedestals I sit upon and then saw their legs off while giggling with glee as I come crashing down towards the sharp, jagged rocks that you've conveniently placed below me.”
- —Anonymous SWF user on Ataru's reviewing habits.[src]
My primary wiki is Wookieepedia, but I'm also willing to read and review other narratives, providing input, opinion, grammar nitpicking, and apostrophe corrections as needed. I'm not big on reading articles, and much prefer fanfic. Please don't ask me to read junk, and if you are not good with taking criticism, it's probably not a good idea to ask me to review your work. I'm pretty civil and constructive, but I won't sugarcoat.
I have been known to beta-read stuff, but my plate stays full enough that I'm not likely to beta-read something unless I owe you big time, or I particularly like your work. I won't beta something that doesn't interest me. Beta-reading is my most extensive and therefore most-time consuming level of review, so I reserve that for select few works. I'm currently not betaing any fics.
My credits include:
I'm also an Archivist, which means if you submit your fanwork to be a featured work, there's a good chance I'll review it. Make sure that you don't hand me a .PDF and expect me to mark it up. That's a guaranteed way to make me want to reduce your work to bantha fodder, no matter how good it is. I need a format I can edit without too much difficulty so I can make the small changes instead of sending you a list.
Force Exile Edit
Force Exile is a series of novels, short stories, and more set in the Star Wars universe, starting circa 19 BBY with Force Exile I: Fugitive. So far, I've written three sequels in the form of Force Exile II: Smuggler, Force Exile III: Liberator, and Force Exile IV: Guardian. Continuation of the saga occurs in the anthology Yanibar Tales and the fifth novel, Force Exile V: Warrior, is in progress. A reference guide, The Essential Guide to Force Exile and another supplementary work, the Yanibar Guard Sourcebook, augment these works by providing details on the characters, organizations, ships, and technology behind the series. The cover art for all Force Exile works is courtesy of the inimitably talented Solus. See my blog for updates and silly puns, particularly revolving around the use of "FE". Force Exile has won acclaim on two websites and garnered some awards and recognition on both of them, but this author isn't egotistical enough to list all that here.

For any readers, feedback on any Force Exile work is greatly appreciated. Just leave me a comment on this user talk page or on one of the talk pages for the books, preferably on the main talk page rather than the one for each segment. It'd be really sweet if Force Exile was canonized, but that'll happen about the time George Lucas gives the author Leland Chee's job. We can always hope, right?
NOTE TO FELLOW AUTHORS: If you would like to cameo a person, place, or thing that I invented for Force Exile in your work, please let me know and provide as many details as possible. If you're looking to have something more than a cameo, the answer is almost certainly no. I'm sorry, but I'm not the collaborative type. If you are interested in contributing to the Force Exile saga, check out the What's the backstory? contest, where you can submit entries that provide backstory for existing Force Exile characters.

Ataru's writing conventions Edit
These are posted here as reference for what I use in my writing. I don't necessarily judge other works I read by their adherence to these guidelines; I operate under the stipulation that I'm the only one who uses these and so I don't expect others to follow all of them. That said, some of these guidelines are more universal to good writing in general.
- Nothing is ever perfectly written, but strive for excellence.
- Never write a Mary Sue. Ever.
- Uphold the 7 pillars of Details, Dialogue, Development, Description, Decency, Characters, and Believability in all writing.
- Seek to tell a good story, not a social/political commentary.
- Let your work flow with existing official canon, not disrupt, rewrite, or violate it.
- Overt sexuality, extreme violence, foul profanity, and dark hedonism have no place in my work.
- Evil will never be ultimately rewarded.
- Never write anything for the sake of popularity or awards. Write what you want because you want to.
- All full-length novels should start on an Imperial or Republic ship, per the example of George Lucas and Timothy Zahn.
- Proof-read everything. After that, proof-read it again and have someone else read it if you can manage that.
- A good Star Wars tale has these elements: action, romance, suspense, comedy, symbolism, and thematic elements, in addition to being a page-turner.
- A good Star Wars author never gives himself more than a dozen general rules.
Disclaimers Edit
- Force Exile, nor any work of Atarumaster88, nor Atarumaster88 himself are in no way suggested to be affiliated with Lucasfilm, Ltd. Star Wars and all related terms are copyrighted by Lucasfilm, Ltd. and Atarumaster88 in no way seeks to infringe upon those rights. As far as I'm aware, the term "Force Exile" originated on Wikia with this user, and anyone else using the term as a proper noun or claiming credit for Force Exile works is lying.
- This author's work contains sci-fi action violence, some of it graphic, mild sexual innuendo, and mild profanity. If you are easily offended or sensitive to such things, you are advised to not read it.
- This author's work also seeks to not conflict with established canon, however silly it may be.
