I've come close to killing myself more than once. Perhaps that's why the Force chose me for this job. Immortality! The ultimate goal of the Sith... gifted to the one Sith who wakes each morning wishing that she hadn't.
—Torem Odé.

Torem Odé, born Torem Vhenn and also known as the Black Wyvern while on Zakuul, was a female Human Sith Lord who fought for the Sith Empire during the Cold War, Galactic War, Conquest of the Eternal Empire, the revolt against the Eternal Empire and Third Galactic War. Born on Dromund Kaas to the respected Vhenn family, Torem attended the academy on Dromund Kaas as her ancestors had for generations and graduated to become Sith. She was the cousin of Attrice Vhenn.

During her early years, she worked under the command of Darth Arkous and befriended Lana Beniko, a fellow Sith Lord who she fell in love with. Beniko did not share Torem's affection, however, and after being rejected several times she became increasingly more depressed, emotions which fueled her and pushed her to reach the rank of Sith Lord. While fighting the Revanites on Yavin IV Torem approached Lana one final time to discuss her feelings, but as before Lana declined her advances, snapping at her for her obsessive behavior and her poor timing. This proved to be the final straw; Torem wandered off into the jungle, intent on seeking out the Revanites to fight alongside them in retaliation against Beniko. By the time torem found a trace of the Revanites, however, she was too late to change her allegiance; she discovered the site of the final confrontation between members of the coalition and Revan, marked only by the robe of the fallen Jedi legend. Unable to carry out her treachery, Torem returned to the coalition camp and departed with the bulk of the Imperial forces not long after, only meeting Lana again when the Sith Emperor attacked Ziost.

Torem was visiting Ziost to refuel her ship before heading back to the front lines in the war against the Galactic Republic. Beniko, aware of her her presence on the planet, contacted her when the Emperor revealed himself and asked for her assistance in dealing with the situation. Still resenting Beniko, Torem thanked her for the warning, then told her that if she could survive without Lana then Lana could survive without her, leaving Ziost and its occupants to their fate. She continued fighting in the years that followed, changing her target to Zakuulan forces once the Eternal Empire emerged. After the war was lost, she refused to lay down her weapons and smuggled herself to Zakuul, living off the land in the dreary expanse of the Endless Swamp. It was there that she came into contact with Benjamin Lambert, a fellow Sith, and his group of terrorists, made up of both Imperial and Republic citizens who were not content to submit to the Eternal Empire's brutal rule. For several months, Torem and the group of extremists terrorized Zakuul, attacking civilians and military targets alike without mercy.

Eventually, though, Torem left Zakuul and settled down as a civilian on Voss, spending several years enjoying the peace and tranquility of the beautiful planet, learning that she had trace amounts of Voss blood in her veins, as she was descended from a Jedi and a Voss who fled the ancient conflict on the planet. This allowed her to unlock the same infallible eye for the future possessed by the Voss Mystics. After Empress Vaylin attacked Voss, an enraged Torem rejoined the Empire to fight back, remaining with them even after the Eternal Empire was overthrown and once again throwing herself against the Empire's ancient enemy when the Third Galactic War began. Torem continued to experience visions throughout her life, and in 60 ATC it was one such vision that compelled her to betray her long-time on/off ally Avexiss Odé, stabbing her in the back to force the dark side entity she carried to abandon her body, allowing Torem to draw it to her and become its new host, as dictated by her visions. In honor of her fallen friend, Torem adopted her surname as her own, hoping that Avexiss would know, in death, the reason she had to die at Torem's hand.

Ostracized by her allies for a betrayal that they could not comprehend, Torem disappeared until 66 ATC, when she appeared on Idlanna in the wake of Darth Salvharroh's ritual to help save her old ally Benjamin Lambert and close a tear in reality that threatened to alter the nature of the Cosmic Force. Following this event, Torem vanished once again, returning to her exile and wandering the galaxy for several thousand years before she experienced another vision to dictate her path. When she did, what she saw prompted her to infiltrate the Grand Army of the Republic, where she befriended the Zeltron Gam Vakara in the final weeks of the Clone Wars.
