The Infinite Eye was a massive space station, created back in the time of the Old Republic via the Star Forge.

The Infinite Eye was designed to fulfill two things. First, to be the ultimate spy vessel in the galaxy. Drawing power from an artificial sun deep in the bowels of the station, it's sensors and cloaking devices are second to none, being able to see all corners of the galaxy and beyond, and it's cloaking fields being able to hide whole planets at will. If need be, it could draw power from another sun/star, providing more power.
Secondly, it's other role is to provide auxiliary shielding to friendly ships nearby, being able to create a bubble shield big enough to house whole fleets under, and powerful to withstand even a blast from the Death Star.
