The Strike at Commenor occured in the closing weeks of the year 48 ABY. It was ordered by Hogrum Chalk, an Imperial Knight and senior advisor to Emperor Soontir Fel.
Several days prior, Emperor Fel recieved a transmission from Darth Nyax, the Dark Lord of the Sith, offering an alliance, if Fel would consent to a joint Imperial-Sith strike at the Galactic Alliance-Republic leadership gathered at Commenor for a secret meeting to discuss the possibility of an end to their confict. Nyax told Fel that in return, he would bring the Ismaren-loyal Imperial forces under Fel's control and personally assassinate Emperor Irek Ismaren, but unknown to Nyax, Fel knew that he and Ismaren were one and the same.
Without Fel's approval, Hogrum Chalk agreed to Lord Nyax's terms and ordered the strike.
