Bureaucrats are administrators on Star Wars Fanon, the Star Wars wiki of fan invention, who have been elected to appoint other administrators to the wiki. This can only be done, however, once the overall community approves of a request for adminship for a specific candidate. While bureaucrats are entirely similar to administrators in article editing and maintenance, they do have different tools than administrators in order to improve the wiki. Despite this, their opinions are not meant to be any more valid than those of a regular user or any other administrator.

In order for a user to be appointed as an administrator, the bureaucrats must unanimously agree on their appointment. Once a unanimous consensus is reached, one of the bureaucrats will grant administrative rights to the elected user. Bureaucrats can also remove administrative rights from administrators, but only after a consensus from the voting community or when an administrator resigns. They may not, under any circumstances, take rights away from administrators because of any sort of disagreement. Furthermore, bureaucrats have CheckUser privileges, giving them the ability to check user IP address information under certain circumstances, for the purposes of protecting the wiki against legitimate and potential disruption and abuse.

Generally, a good bureaucrat candidate should have been an administrator on Star Wars Fanon for some time, preferably a few months. They should also be a regular contributor for at least six months, and be critical, skeptical, but willing, and be in support of community spirit. Bureaucrats are elected through requests for bureacratship.
