The Star Wars Fanon featured work archives
Atarumaster88Added by Atarumaster88

The Archivists are a group of users in charge of managing the featured works on Star Wars Fanon. They have been voted in by the community and supervise the featured works nominations. In particular, they review and examine both submitted excerpts and the work overall, ensuring that all featured works meet the high standards expected for such works. As such, a majority of Archivist members must approve of a featured work nomination for it to become featured.

First founded in October of 2008 with the inception of the featured works system, the five-member Archivist board has been tasked with oversight of the entire featured work and featured work nomination process. Their mission is to insure that quality works are displayed on Star Wars Fanon's main page for the betterment of the community and in recognition of the achievements of the works' authors in creating a work of featured caliber.

To leave feedback for the Archivists, please use this talk page.

Former membersEdit

Featured works board members have the following responsibilities:Edit

  1. Reading, objecting to, and voting on featured work nominations
  2. Responding to community feedback on featured works and their nominations
  3. Updating and queueing successful featured work nominations, as well as removing unsuccessful featured work nominations.

For official use onlyEdit

How to queue Edit

  1. Mark the nomination as archived with the appropriate text (see below). At the top of the nomination page, denote it with ==FW nomination== above the content nomination, below the title line. If it is a re-nomination, use ==FW nomination (second time)== or something similar. This is to keep later reviews separate in case of re-review.
  2. Add "fw" to the eras template on the work's page. (Example:{{Eras|real|fw}}) This will add the category to the page and display the Era icon featuredwork.png image.
  3. Add the article to Star Wars Fanon:Featured works in its appropriate alphabetical location.
  4. Copy and paste the introduction and the infobox image (where applicable) to a new entry on the queue. There are color types to fill in the bgcolor variable depending on the type of the work—the description is in the code of the example. The section header for the entry should be a new month. Left-justify the image and size it at 150px. Example: === September 1, 2008 === would succeed === August 1, 2008 ===.

How to remove an unsuccessful nominationEdit

  1. Mark the nomination as archived with the appropriate text. At the top of the nomination page, denote it with ==FW nomination== above the archived content. If it is a re-nomination, simply apply the archive text to nomination section.
  2. Remove the FWnom template from the nominated article.

How to swap an article out each monthEdit

  • Note: The admins, chiefly Brandon Rhea, do this, but if they don't catch all the steps, it's not a bad idea to check it over.
  1. Replace the contents of {{featured work}} with a new entry from the queue.
  2. Move the previous month's entry OFF the queue to a new section on the history page.
