- —Luke Skywalker
SlipKnoT was a nine-piece Human DeMoin Metal band from the planet DeMoin. Initially well known within the Outer Rim Territories, they eventually became famous galaxy-wide for their seemingly unique aproach to music.
Consisting solely of veterans from the Second Galactic Civil War, the band came together as a way to ease their life in DeMoin's refugee camps, quickly coming to prominence on their homeworld. In 50 ABY the band released their first album, Veterans to critical acclaim. Following the release SlipKnoT's fame came quickly, and at their height, they had many famous fans, such as Jacen Solo and Luke Skywalker; as well as a substantial number of members of the Sith Order of Decreto, including the Dark Lord of the Decreton Empire, Darth Abeonis himself. In 52 ABY, SlipKnoT released their second album, and subsequently had a lawsuit againt them. The lawsuit was unsuccessful and served only to bring the band even more HoloNet attention, especially within the core territories. Following the outbreak of the Sith Crusade in 61 ABY the band became particularly notable as the first to tour in the Sith Empire, and as such the first to tour both major galactic governments.
In 64 ABY the band went on a second hiatus, lasting until 67 ABY when they released their third and final album, Third Edition and commenced with their final tour – the Third Edition tour – which would end two years later, with the band disbanding.

[edit] History
[edit] Founding
In 43 ABY Cor Tal, a member of the Galactic Alliance Army was released from military service suffering from a severe mental disorder, brought on by the Second Galactic Civil War.
Cor Tal made his way to a military-health clinic on DeMoin where he was subjugated to a series of excruciatingly painful operations and therapy sessions in which the doctors attempted to cure him of his disease. After four years of torture Cor Tal snapped, killing the doctors and his guard. Fleeing the medical facility, Cor Tal found himself in a refugee camp on the far side of DeMoin. There he met up with his future band-mate, JoJordis.
JoJordis, also a veteran of the Confederation-Galactic Alliance War, instantly took to Cor Tal, and the two soon found solace in performing music for one-another. They were soon joined by another veteran, Shan Chran and the three formed their own band. SlipKnoT was born.
[edit] DeMoin tour
In the year 47 ABY SlipKnoT, already well known in the areas surrounding the refugee camp, began their first tour of DeMoin. DeMoin had been ravaged by the recent war and found a surprising like-ability in SlipKnoT. As the tour progressed, Cor Tal, JoJordis and Shan Chran were joined by six more disaffected war veterans; MiThom, CraJo, Jam Roo, ChriFehn, PauGrey and SiWils. Deciding that it would be best to keep their identities secret, SlipKnoT decided upon adopting numerical identities, and named themselves #0 through to #8. They also choose to further hide their identities by performing behinds mask. By the close of the three year DeMoin tour, SlipKnoT was the richest, most famous band on the planet. Together, the band members decided that it was time to take their music to the stars, and they released the first album onto the Galactic Market.
[edit] Galaxy-wide fame
With the release of their first single, Dual Nature, SlipKnoT were instantly thrust into the eyes of the galactic populous. They were signed up for tours on various worlds including Coruscant, Chandrila, Esseles and many more.
SlipKnoT were also recognized to be the first band of such a nature to perform in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where several prominent Jedi and Galactic officials, such as Luke Skywalker and Cal Omas were present. Cal Omas found the musical style of SlipKnoT distasteful, and jokingly suggested having them banned from the GFFA, Skywalker however found the band "most interesting".
After another two years of touring, SlipKnoT took a momentary break before they began recording their second album.
[edit] Mortis Approaching and lawsuit
In the year 52 ABY, SlipKnoT released their second album, Mortis Approaching, and shortly after a new single. The new song, called Darkness Returning was much "darker" than all their previous songs and was considered by many in the Galactic Alliance to be disturbing and inciting criminal atrocities. Many high society personas decided that SlipKnoT should be barred from performing in the GFFA and took the band to court. After two years of legal strangling SlipKnoT was cleared of all charges and permitted to perform once again.
SlipKnoT's fans were overjoyed, and celebrations were held on planets throughout the GFFA. SlipKnoT also celebrated by releasing the second single from Mortis Approaching – Inland Empire. Following the release of Inland Empire, SlipKnoT enjoyed a period of near eurphoira. A series of tours left none in doubt of SlipKnoT's popularity, or influence. Many laws which SlipKnot had supported were passed on various planets, and SlipKnot were publically acknowledged by many world leaders as leading figures in galactic reform.
[edit] Sith Crusade
In the year 55 ABY, SlipKnoT, deciding that the time had come for a break, temporarily went on hiatus. Each member of the band went on to perform for various side-bands whilst they wrote music for SlipKnoT's third album. But with the outbreak of war in 61 ABY SlipKnoT found themselves in an awkward position.
Cor Tal had been approached by agents of the Sith Order of Decreto and informed that Darth Abeonis wanted SlipKnoT to perform for him on his flagship The Soiyo. Cor Tal, although dubious, told the agents that he would consult his band mates. After a week, Cor Tal was once again approached by the Sith agents, and he told them that the performance was going to go ahead.
Following the performance on The Soiyo, Cor Tal and his fellow musicians were confronted by Darth Abeonis himself. He quickly worked to dispell any fear, telling them of his propensity to listen to their music. The band were astonished by this revelation, and took to performing another tour within the Sith Empire.
[edit] Third Edition
Following the close of the Decreton Empire tour in 63 ABY SlipKnoT stopped writing for a time, before eventually going on hiatus the following year. Many in SlipKnoT's fan base feared an end to the bands run, and did their best to get support for the band back up to its Veterans high.
After two and a half years hiatus JoJordis, Jam Roo and MiThom met once again and began discussing the possibility of a third album. Together they approached the remaining members of the band and they all agreed to work together on one last tour, as a thank you to their friends. So after five months it was announced on the bands HoloSite that a third and final unnamed album was in the works. Within minutes the HoloSite received trillions of letters of support, suggestion and requests from the bands fans, and each member of the group became determined in their resolve to make the album their best.
In 67 ABY the band released the single Death From Above, and shortly after began their Third Edition tour in support of their now-named album, Third Edition. Originally scheduled to last only a year, massive demand from the fans led to the tour being extended four times, until it finally ended in 69 ABY. During the tour SlipKnoT had visited more planets than any band in history, and had become one of the most well known bands ever, receiving an award for their single PЯЯaesitlyn.
Following the tour, SlipKnoT finally disbanded, and each of the members went on with their lives, reuniting once a year to perform for family and friends until Cor Tal's death in 74 ABY.
[edit] Style
Slipknot was famous for their extreme performance style provided by their massive line-up featuring a typical heavily guitar setup (lead, rhythm, and bass guitars), two percussionists in addition to the primary drummer, and electronics (turntables).
Their early work hosted a large range of vocal styles, grindcore-esque growling. In later works, this vocal style remained present, but was supported by more melodic singing. SlipKnoT's lyrics generally followed a very aggressive tone, and featured themes such as darkness, nihilism, anger, disaffection, and psychosis.
