Savn Naylan was a close friend and confidant to Eriaduan Emperor Antonio de Borgia and a top commander in the Eriaduan Military.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Savn Naylan was born to a highly respected and noble family on Coruscant. Due to his families military sympathies it was almost expected that Naylan would serve the Empire in some capacity or disgrace his family name.

When he came of age he would attend the Imperial Military Academy on Carida where he befriended a young Antonio. The two became good friends. After graduation they would both go on to join the Imperial Military, though Antonio would join the Navy and Savn joined the Army. The two kept in constant communication and would regularly have luncheons together when they were given leave. However, as time went on and they advanced through respective branches of the service, they had less and less time to communicate.

Imperial service[]

When the Sith-Imperial War broke out, Naylan was a lieutenant colonel with command of his own regiment. Sometime during the war he would be promoted to Major General and placed in charge of all military forces in the fleet under the command of his good friend then-Fleet Admiral Borgia. The two gained great fame throughout the war; Borgia became a Moff and Naylan was promoted, over several other officers, to High General. Then, at the behest of his good friend, who wanted Naylan at his side, Naylan was given a second promotion to Surface Marshal and given command of all forces within the Seswenna sector, Moff Borgia’s ruling sector.

At the end of the Sith-Imperial War when Darth Krayt deposed Emperor Fel and took control of the Empire, Naylan was on Eriadu, left in charge of the Sector whilst Borgia was on Coruscant. When Borgia returned to Eriadu City in disgust over what had happened, Naylan was the first to suggest secession from the Empire. Borgia, though somewhat reluctant, took his friends advice and severed the Seswenna sector’s ties to the Empire and formed his own Empire in the Outer Rim.

Forging an empire[]

Seeking legitimacy, Naylan and Borgia agreed that they needed to make a statement to Krayt and the rest of the galaxy that they meant business. The only obvious answer was a military campaign. Borgia offered Naylan supreme command of all military forces but Naylan refused, having served as Surface Marshal and not wanting to deal with the administrative part of the position, became a front line commander for the Land Attack Force. Also, because Borgia wanted him close when he wasn’t on assignment, he made him the Captain of the Guard, the commander of the Imperial Guard, charged with the Emperor's protection.

The war[]

Naylan worked closely with Borgia and the newly promoted Commandant Peitros to plan out their offensive. Naylan commanded the vanguard of all Eriaduan forces during the major opening campaigns of what would become known as the Ascension Wars. Naylan proved to be an integral part of all Borgia’s initial victories.

After capturing the shipyards at both Yaga Minor and Sluis Van, the Eriaduan forces gained an edge. Borgia ordered Naylan to move against Imperial forces near Saleucami, in order to set the stage for the Saleucami campaign. The Commander’s forces met with great success and great failure on Jabiim. He repulsed the Sith-Imperial forces led by Darth Talon during the First Battle of Jabiim. Talon would withdraw and regroup. Unfortunately, as luck would have it, Naylan didn’t fair well at all against Talon’s forces during the second battle, he was soundly beaten. Naylan himself was presumed dead as his junior officers reported seeing his command AAT destroyed whilst charging the enemy line.

Naylan’s death came as a major blow to the Eriaduan war effort. As one of the best commander’s in their arsenal his loss was intolerable. Borgia himself took a great personal loss upon hearing of Naylan’s death but decided to press on, making up for Naylan’s apparent loss.
