Secret Jedi Order

Sato Kin-Kari was one of the most mysterious Jedi Knights in history. Born on Onderon, Sato was discovered to be Force-Sensitive around 111 ABY, and was sought after by both Sith and Jedi alike. The Jedi got to him first, and Sato became a member of the Jedi Order. Sato was greatly interested in the Ninman Lightstaber Form, quickly mastering it. Sato was a key warrior in the Sith-Imperial War. He became the Padawan of Shado Vao from 112-119 ABY. Sato was a great apprentice and a respected Jedi.

He became a Jedi Knight by killing Darth Rivinence, a Dark Jedi bent on revenge for his master's death. Sato had tried to spare Rivinence's life, but the Dark Jedi left the Padawan with no choice but to kill him. After that, the Jedi Council made Sato a Knight. Sato was a leading member of the Secret Jedi Order that resided on the planet Lehon, the planet that was once home to the Infinite Empire. Sato arrived on Lehon in 134 ABY by sheer luck and discovered a temple that was steeped in the Dark Side of the Force. After discovering the source of this taint, Sato cleansed it with the help of other Jedi that traveled with him. The temple was the home to the Secret Jedi Order. Sato ran the temple with the help of those who helped him get rid of the taint. Not much was known as to what was going on with Sato, except that he was training future Jedi Knights to take back the Galaxy from the Galactic Empire.

Sato Kin-Kari's Lightsaber was simple in it's design. The blade color was a yellowish orange, with two focusing crystals that he found in the remains of the Temple on Lehon. One of those crystals was Force-Bonded with him, much like what had happened with the Jedi Exile.

[edit] Biography

"A tragic life this one had. Never has a Jedi been through such trials, save Luke Skywalker."
—A historian, reffering to Kin-Kari's life

[edit] Early Life

Sato Kin-Kari was born in 100 ABY on Onderon. He was born into a wealthy family, but a very generous one at that. He lived with his family for 11 years. During those years, he learned how to farm, hunt, and scavange. He was especially good at scavanging. He learned all he could about the different types of plants, and what each could be used for, and if they were dangerous or not.

Not long after, the first tragedy of his life occured. The Sith came to his house while Sato was out farming. The Sith demanded that Sato go with them, and when Kin-Kari's parents refuesed, the Sith killed them in cold blood. Those Sith then went looking for him.

Not far behind, the Jedi of the New Jedi Order arrived at his house, and when they saw that Sato's parents were dead, they thought that they were too late and were about to leave when Sato showed up. The Jedi saw him coming from the east, and were very relieved. They would not let Sato go into his house, because his parent's bodies were still in there, and they did not want to frighten the boy.

"Your parents are dead, Sato. Their bodies mutilated by the Sith. We cannot allow you to see their bodies."
—One of the Jedi telling Sato about his parents

Sato was in tears, and the Jedi took him aboard their ship and took him to the Jedi Temple.

[edit] Training

When Sato arrived at the Jedi Temple, he was striken with grief. The council did their best to cheer him up, but nothing seemed to work. When Sato did get over his parent's death, he was bent on avenging his parents. He soon discovered the Ninman lightsaber form, and worked hard to master it. He mastered it in a matter of month's, which shocked the council. No one had ever learned that particular form so quickly, yet Sato had done it with ease.

The council was afraid that Sato's vow of revenge would lead him to the Dark Side, and it almost did, if it wasn't for the Jedi who would be his master. Shado Vao was sent to discover the source of a minor, but powerful taint that had enveloped a nearby grove. Vao discovered the young Jedi trying to release his anger on a rock, and doing a very good job at it. Vao confronted the boy and calmed him down, how is not known. What is known is that Vao and Kin-Kari were walking back to the temple, Sato looking happier than he has ever been. Vao then took Sato to be his Padawan, and that is where Sato Kin-Kari's true story begins.

[edit] Days with Vao

"Sato, you will be a great Padawan, I can see that with absolute clarity."
—Shado Vao after Sato's first mission

After becoming Shado Vao's Padawan, Sato would accomplish a great number of things. One of the main is the killing of Darth Rivinence.

[edit] Quest for Rivinence

Shortly after becoming Vao's Padawan, Sato learned of the identity of the Sith who killed his parents. The Sith's was Darth Rivinece, the Dark Lord of the Sith. Sato did not forget his vow to his parents, and on their first encounter on Dantooine, Rivinence, after knocking out Vao, ended up giving Sat a scar across his chest. Rivinence did not kill him.

"I am not going to kill you today, Jedi. But we will meet again. I'm looking forward to it."
—Darth Rivinence after the first encounter

Rivinence made good on that promise and Sato and Rivinence met for the second time on Korriban. Sato and Vao were sent there to investigate one of the tombs, and while investigating that tomb, they met Rivinence. A duel occured, Vao and Sato vs. Rivinence. Rivinence lost that duel and fled before the final blow. Vao then went to the council to ask if Kin-Kari and himself could track down Rivinence and kill him. The council agreed.

[edit] The Death of Rivinence

Vao and Kin-Kari looked for Rivinence for 6 years before they finally found him on Melida/Daan. Rivenence was there trying to create civil war again. Luckily, Vao and Sato arrived at the right time. Rivinence was causing trouble with the Melida and had already created tension withing the Daan. Vao and Sato decided to split up to calm the to tribes. Vao quickly left for the Daan, and Sato went to the Melida. Vao arrived at the Daan settlement and easily eased the tension within the Daan. Sato had more of a problem.

[edit] Epic Battle: Sato Kin-Kari vs. Darth Rivinence

When Sato arrived at the Melida settlement, the first thing he noticed was the presence of Darth Rivinence. He quickly discovered that Rivinence was at an underground tunnel and Sato rushed to confront him.

"So, have you finally decided to die, Jedi? I will be more than willing to help you with that."

Sato didn't reply, just drew his lightsaber and gestured that Rivinence should do the same. Thus the battle began. The battle lasted for hours with neither one giving so much as an inch. Then, Darth Rivinence made a fatal flaw that cost him his life. He tried to jump over Kin-Kari's head, but he didn't jump high enough to escape Sato's lightsaber. Sato swung his blade and cut off Rivinence's arms. Sato then asked Rivinence to turn from the Dark Side, but Rivinence spat in Sato's face. Sato then cut Rivinence's head off, quickly and painlessly kill the Dark Lord.

Vao and Sato returned to the Jedi Temple with Rivinence's body, and Sato was given the rank of Jedi Knight.

[edit] Sith-Imperial War

Sato was also involved in the Sith-Imperial War. He was the general of a squadron that had the most victories. His main role in the war was at the Massacre at Ossus.

[edit] Massacre at Ossus

When Darth Nihl and Yage attacked the Jedi Order on Darth Krayt's command, Sato was one of the Jedi that managed to escape, though he had wanted to stay and help Jedi Master Kol Skywalker. Sato did, however, manage to kill Darth Yage when Yage blocked his way out. Sato felt the death of Kol through the Force just as he was entering hyperspace. Sato went to the five planets that contained the Legendary Star Maps that Darth Revan had found centuries before.

This battle was the first time Sato unveiled his new Lightsaber Form, Zoresi.

[edit] Quest for the Star Maps

Sato was enthralled by the story of Darth Revan, so when he left Ossus after the Massacre at Ossus, he went searching for the Star Maps. Sato found four of them without much trouble, besides Mannan's being underwater, Tatooine's being in the Krayt Dragon's cave. He did have trouble retrieving Korriban's Star Map. While on Korriban, Sato had to join the Sith Academy so he could go into the tomb of Naga Sadow and retrieve the Star Map. Sato did just that and ended up retrieving the Star Map after six months on Korriban.

After finding the Star Maps, Sato went to Lehon where he set up the Secret Jedi Order.

[edit] Jedi Master

After cleansing the Rakatan Temple, Sato set up the Secret Jedi Order with a few of the Jedi that escaped the Massacre at Ossus. There he was bestowed the title of Jedi Master and was granted a seat on the council. Not much is known about what this Order is doing besides trying to upsurp the Empire from the inside.

[edit] Talents and Abilities

Sato Kin-Kari is credited with the creation of Form XXX: Zoresi. He also posses the Force Flight, an extension of Force Jump.

Like all Jedi, Sato has mastered most Force powers. He also discovered how to manipulate the Force so he could extend the Force Jump and stay in the air longer, creating the illusion that he is flying.

While on Korriban looking for the Star Map, Sato had to learn how to use the Dark Side of the Force without corrupting himself. He did manage to master Choke and Drain Life. He also managed to use Force Lightning, although it was a different color than that of the Dark Jedi's.

"Your Force Lightning is yellow in color. Interesting."
—A Dark Jedi after witnessing Sato's Force Lightning

Sato also created the Zoresi Form. Though he primarily uses the Niman form, he keeps the Zoresi Form as a reserve, as the form is very dangerous, and can result in death if the user is not careful.

[edit] Behind the Scenes

  • Sato Kin-Kari was one of the youngest Jedi Masters ever at the age of 30.
  • While he did help cleanse the Rakatan Temple, he is not the leader of the Secret Jedi Order
  • Sato already knew where Lehon was, but he wanted to quest for the Star Maps so he could throw off the Sith that were hunting him.
