Romin was the only planet in the Romin system, which in turn was located in the Anrom sector within the Mid Rim. It was occupied by the Galactic Republic prior to the start of the Jedi Civil War, but was later invaded and captured by the Sith Empire.

It held the secret Romin Embassy of the Republic, which was headed by Colonel Sapp, and was infamous for being a hotspot of organized crime, particularly the Human Mafia, both before and during the war, having headquarted the Mangani and Felip crime families.
