Riyo Chuchi was a female Pantoran senator who served as a politician during the final years of the Galactic Republic.

Biography

Early Life

Problems with a protectorate

Born in 38 BBY, Riyo was raised by her father and mother who served as senators during the Separatist Crisis. She also had a younger brother named Kirin Chuchi who was born on 28 BBY. After her parents were assassinated, the two were raised by Chairman Chi Cho. Chi decided to teach Riyo how to become an idealist of the Republic while her brother remained with the foster family. Riyo promised that she would visit her brother while she attended to work for the Republic. After the Separatist Crisis ended on 22 BBY, Riyo was appointed as senator of the Galactic Senate when the Clone Wars began.

Death

In 20 BBY, Riyo was selected by Senator Amidala to join her in a secret meeting on Naboo. She was seen with her aide while boarding a cruiser with several senators and bureaucrats. She was perished in the explosion which killed everyone onboard. The assassin responsible for the assassination, was revealed to be Herbin, who was working with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, made a deal with Nute Gunray to assassinate Amidala.

Legacy

After her death, Chi Eekway Papanoida replaced her as senator and continued her business during the Clone Wars.

Personality and traits

Riyo Chuchi was a firm believer in the use of diplomacy. When she first became a senator, she had a timid personality and submitted completely to Chairman Cho's more dominating air. By the time of the Blockade of Pantora she had become a stronger individual, and was able to successfully blackmail a Trade Federation envoy into lifting the blockade. Chuchi was also good friends with Ahsoka Tano.

Behind the scenes

Riyo Chuchi was is voiced by actress Jennifer Hale, who also played Aayla Secura in both "Jedi Crash" and "Defenders of Peace."
