Oh, but Captain, you've simply not experienced Whipstaff until you've seen him in the original Bothan!
—Silas Dan'kre, to Laera Reyolé
Rickard Whipstaff was an author and playwright whose work dated from the time of the foundation of the Galactic Republic. Considered by many historians to be one of the defining influences on the creation of Galactic Basic Standard as a language, his holoplays, of which Nellus V was among his most famous, were translated by every major culture throughout the galaxy. The Bothan people held a particular regard for his histories, claiming that their interpretations of these classic works was the most definitive and emotionally inspiring.
