Renard Curl was a field commander of the Necasian Military during the Cruentusian War. He was leader of an elite squadron of DarkBird fighters, and was generally renowned, amongst the Necasians at least, as the best pilot in the galaxy. Although he was considered to act arrogantly and bragged when off-duty, he had a reputation for his cold sense of professionalism when in a cockpit. He was inventor of the 'Renard slipstream' maneuver, which involved flying low over enemy battalions while barrel rolling, creating a slipstream which pulled up everything below and smashed it together in an air vortex.
