Reed Vartis was a Jedi Knight who served in the Clone Wars.
Biography[]
Pre-Clone Wars[]
Reed Vartis was born on Nar Shaddaa in 56 BBY. He was taken to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant at three months of age.
In 22 BBY, Reed Vartis was present at the Coruscant Jedi Temple when word of the capture Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padmé Amidala on Geonosis reached the Temple. As such, he was part of the task force of 200 Jedi sent to Geonosis to rescue the three from the Separatist leaders. He fought alongside a Human and a Twi'lek Jedi in the Petranaki arena. He was able to survive the battle.
Clone Wars[]

Reed became a general during the Clone Wars leading campaigns mostly in the Outer Rim. A year into the war he was captured by Separatist forces and held prisoner for several months until a legion of clone troopers led by Shaak Ti was able to rescue him.
Order 66[]
Reed was leading a small legion of clone troopers on the Outer Rim world Felacat. They had just defeated the CIS forces and was discussing the terms of surrender with General Whorm Loathsom. The clone troopers entered the room where Reed and Loathsom talking and started firing on Reed. Reed took out his lightsaber and began deflecting the blaster fire of his traitorous troops. After they were defeated, Reed left the world in a CIS starship.
After Order 66[]
Reed headed to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Just when he was about to arrive on Coruscant, he received a signal from the Jedi Temple warning all Jedi to stay away. Reed then turned around and went to Nar Shaddaa to hide. When he arrived he sold the starfighter for several thousand credits. Five years later, Reed was walking down a dark alley one night when he came face to face with the bounty hunter Danz Borin. Just before Reed could get his lightsaber, the deadly bounty hunter took out the Jedi.
Behind the scenes[]
Some of the information on Reed Vartis is derived from an action figure created by Hasbro and released in 2005 as a three Jedi box set in the Clone Wars line. All events taking before and after the Battle of Geonosis were added on by the creator of the character, Attonrand1138.
Reed's last name is a anagram of Traviss, in honor of Legacy of the Force author, Karen Traviss.
