Ray'kele was the leader of the Ophuchi Clan in 1 BBY. Prior to become the Ophuchi leader, Ray'kele was under the tutelage of Sarus, the Ophuchi leader during the Invasion of Utapau. In 22 BBY, Sarus brought a group of outsiders, including Annikin Skywalker, to the Ophuchi Sanctuary, as he believed Skywalker would fulfill the Prophecy of the Chosen One. Ray'kele was not certain if Skywalker was the one who would fulfill the prophecy, as Skywalker was not an Ophuchi.[1] Ray'kele stood guard at the Ophuchi cave, which contained the full text of the prophecy, as Sarus informed Skywalker of his supposed destiny.[4]
Years later, after becoming the leader of the Ophuchi Clan, Ray'kele criticized Sarus for crossing the line between genius and insanity, saying the line was crossed when Sarus first met with Skywalker in Tatooine's Anchorhead settlement. Ray'kele's statements about Sarus were published in the Journal of the Whills, a manuscript of galactic history.[3]
