The dark side was not created, it has always existed. Just as light has existed, there must always be darkness. I was once a Sith, and if I said there is no dark side, I would be deceiving myself."

"Correct, but let me rephrase my message. I meant that the only dark side is in your own mind, not the Force. The Force does not choose sides as an Umgullian blob gambler would. If you used force lightning to kill someone in self-defense, then the act would be considered good, unless you happen to be a Sith. But, for example, if you used it to constantly char your opponent's lifeless bodies in anger and then proceeded to kill unnecessarily, then that would be considered dark, as such an action is based on your cruelty to that person.
