Affiliation

Phoenix (originally christened Revenant) was a long-deserted Interdictor-class heavy cruiser, dating from the Jedi Civil War (3,959-3,956 BBY). It was found by Jacen Wayland and Miyr Kosshe after the latter's ship, Bha'lir, was critically damaged by the forces of a rogue Imperial warlord. Bha'lir was a loss, but managed to limp to the planet Deralia on its backup hyperdrives. While awaiting rescue, Wayland and Kosshe came upon the abandoned hulk of an ancient star cruiser, as well as a trio of Jedi: Jesko Balta, Lara Haddon, and Asher Zelan. The group had been hiding near the downed ship, using its residual Dark Side presence (the ship had been captained by one of Darth Malak's Dark Jedi during the Jedi Civil War) to cover their own, much as Yoda did on Dagobah. Wayland and Kosshe called for assistance from the Jedi's ship, an aged Corellian Star Shuttle, called the Thranta, and a rescue party collected them, along with their new discoveries. Their rescuers salvaged the derelict cruiser from the planet's surface, and towed it back to their base on Ventooine. After an extensive refit (focusing on firepower, at the expense of cargo/troop carrying capacity), including the addition of ion engines and a hyperdrive system taken from salvaged Acclamator-class Assault Cruisers, the ship, formerly named Revenant, was rechristened Phoenix, and became the new flagship of Wayland's Wilders, under the personal command of Jacen Wayland.
