The P-7 "Offshoot" special was a heavily modified Merr-Sonn P-7 hand blaster, customized by Siege Takomir for the Mandalorian marksman Ronan Barec. Since it was like an extension of the arm for him, Barec nicknamed it "Offshoot".
Characteristic for the standard P-7 was its light weight, powerful shot and incredible accuracy at close and mid range. It had, however, only a small capacity of under 15 shots (less shots, but more powerful ones), and the light build resulted in a very short durability and fragility.
Takomir modified the P-7 to have the additional ability to fire slugs instead of blaster shots, making it a blaster/slugthrower hybrid. It also had a longer durability due to an enforced casing, resulting in a heavier weight than the standard model.
