Northan Olvar was the highest-ranking officer and commander at Fort Aldera on Alderaan thirty years before the outbreak of the Unification War. Conrad Bac served as his assistant operations officer.

Northan Olvar's name was based off of the name of United States military Colonel Oliver North, one of the primary people involved in the Iran Contra Affair.
