The New Republic Army was the ground forces component of the New Republic. It served as one of the largest branches of their military, and was active until its reformation to the Galactic Alliance Army.
During the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Army helped train Colonial Militia units; self-defense civilian paramilitary forces that were tasked with defending planets from Yuuzhan Vong attacks. For the likely event that the planet is still taken, they were trained to carry out an insurgency against the occupiers.
