Narod Antrell was a Human Jedi Knight born on Dantooine in 33 BBY, as the son of the farmers Radi and Malua Antrell. Narod began his training at the Jedi Temple of Coruscant, where he was part of the Ascending Jedi Clan. Later, he was brought into the Agricultural Corps following the death of his only prospective Jedi Master, Cinde Moun. He escaped the AgriCorps in 19 BBY, shortly before the Great Jedi Purge began, and escaped on a shuttle to Dantooine.
He remained as a farmer for a year, before he was taken as an apprentice by K'Kruhk. The two began training and traveling together, which eventually led them to the Hidden Temple of Teya IV, where Narod Antrell ascended to Jedi Knighthood. Following their departure from the planet, the two Jedi began openly engaging the Galactic Empire, with multiple conflicts against the Imperial Inquisitor Si'va Morrer. In 13 BBY, K'Kruhk was gravely wounded and forced into hibernation, which made him appear dead. At this time, Narod met a Jedi named Zeri Undis, and the two fell in love. Along with Undis, Narod continued to fight against the Empire.
In 7 BBY, their son, Roviik Antrell, was born, and Narod participated less in the rebellion against the Empire. When he was approached by the KrypTek Insurgence, he once again became involved in the Galactic Civil War, until his friend Lyus Silep was killed at the Battle of Lurr, after which he was lightly active. After his family was kidnapped during the Battle of Tillaj, Narod had one final duel against Si'va Morrer and was able to safely return home to Dantooine, and subsequently decided to leave explored space and venture into the Unknown Regions, to start a new life.

Biography
Early life
- "It wasn't always like this. My life should've been different…"
- —Narod Antrell to Memo[src]
Narod Antrell was born at Tillaj, Dantooine in 33 BBY, to the farmers Radi and Malua Antrell.[4] He only stayed with his parents for his first two years of his life, because on his second birthday, the Jedi Master Joraic'enlos came to Dantooine to induct Narod into the Jedi Order. Radi and Malua reluctantly accepted, as did Narod. Narod then left for Coruscant with Joraic'enlos. There, he was inducted into the Order by Jedi Master Yoda.[1]
Narod became part of the youngling clan known as the Ascending Jedi, and accomplished all of his training courses and drills with them. His roommate at the Jedi Temple was a Rodian named Rikao, who was also part of the Ascending Jedi. Thanks to Rikao, Narod learned the Rodian's native tongue, Rodese. Narod and the Ascending Jedi were taking lightsaber instruction from both Yoda and Jedi battlemaster Cin Drallig, until Yoda decided to assign Jedi Master Cinde Moun to the Ascending Jedi, permanently.[1]
Narod and Cinde became very close, and Cinde told Narod that he was going to be her Padawan. However, first, she had to attend to duty by joining Jedi Master Mace Windy and the Utapau strike team for a rescue mission on Utapau. Unfortunately for Narod, Cinde was killed during the Battle of Utapau, which Narod learned through Cin Drallig and through the Force. After her death, Narod believed he would not be selected as a Padawan by any other master, and he was right.[1] After his "failure," he was taken to join the Agricultural Corps locally, in the Coruscanti farming zone.[1][5]
Everyday following his assignment to the AgriCorps, Narod continued to meditate in the Force and also wrote logs, writing about his days in the AgriCorps, of his past, and of his dreams. During his time there, he met another fellow "failure" named Memo, who befriended him.[6] Throughout his time in the AgriCorps, Narod read smuggled texts about the history of the Jedi Order and meditated every single day, often having flashbacks of his past.[1][5]
Narod planned to escape from the AgriCorps as soon as he could, and he planned to do it as soon as possible, hoping to do so early on in the new year.[1] Narod developed his plan for months, and set them into action immediately. Firstly, he planted crops and erected a scarefauna; however, the second part to his plan could not be completed for some time, since he had to wait for the crops to grow and give him cover. He hoped to use the scarefauna as a decoy for himself, to escape unseen and without much trouble.[5]
After feeling warning signs and dark tremors through the Force, Narod decided to escape from the AgriCorps a few nights before, unbeknown to him, Annikin Skywalker raided the Jedi Temple. Narod's scarefauna decoy worked, and with the help of his friend Memo, who completed his work for him that night, he went unnoticed until the next morning. After a couple of days of making his way into the Capital City, Narod learned of the Jedi Rebellion, as it was dubbed, through a news broadcast and of the First Galactic Empire. Fearing for his life, Narod arrived at a spaceport and stowed away on a transport that took him to Dantooine.[5] Once he arrived, he evaded the guards and entered the city of Tillaj.
Search for refuge
- "It's a place known as the 'Hidden Temple.' I doubt many Jedi will reach it, though, before the Empire gets to them first."
- —K'Kruhk to Narod Antrell[src]
The shuttle that carried Narod eventually to his homeworld, Dantooine. To hide the fact that he'd had Jedi training and was a member of the AgriCorps, Narod ventured into Tillaj and worked for a local cantina owner, as head of the garbage crew for the cantina. For one year, Narod worked and earned credits, and successfully avoided some run-ins with the newly dubbed stormtroopers and their checkpoints. Also, Narod did not realize that he was living approximately nine miles from his original home, where his parents' estate was located. Later that year, Narod encountered the Jedi Master K'Kruhk, who sensed Narod was attune to the Force and made small talk with him. When K'Kruhk was convinced by Narod, he agreed to taking him in as his official apprentice, something Narod had dreamed of for years.[3]
Since the two would be initiating Jedi training, K'Kruhk told his new apprentice that they had to keep their goals secret and safe, and therefore proposed searching for refuge in a place known as the "Hidden Temple." Narod solemnly agreed with his master and the two took a shuttle off of Dantooine, leaving no trace by giving out false names to purchases tickets, using Narod's savings. Before doing so, though, the two also purchased a broken transponder and an inactive communications array from a local merchant, taking it with them on their trip. There first destination was Phaeda, taken there by the shuttle. Once there, they rested and K'Kruhk gave Narod a second-hand lightsaber he owned. The two then followed the first clue to the Hidden Temple K'Kruhk had obtained before meeting Narod, which hinted at either an arboreal or aquatic-based planet. K'Kruhk decided to head for Velusia, a planet he'd had a vision of that was located in the Core Worlds. The two rented a shuttle and ventured to the planet, where they met resistance from Imperial forces at Mount Hollow.[3]
The two fled to Slok, one of Velusia's moons, and landed there, only to learn that the moon was being used as a slave camp for imprisoned laborers, mostly consisting of Aquar, Selkath, and Togruta. Unable to leave on their damaged shuttle, Narod and K'Kruhk had to create a distraction to steal an Imperial shuttle. However, Narod suggested causing an uprising by the prisoners, to cause a distraction, free them, and, most importantly, free themselves. K'Kruhk agreed, and so the two infiltrated the nearby slave camps, where they used both words and subtle mind tricks to persuade the slaves. The plan worked, and the uprising was successful. The small Imperial base that was in charge was overrun, and a total of nine shuttles were stolen, each of them packed with the freed slaves, as well as the two Jedi. Each shuttle took their own course, but Narod and K'Kruhk followed the shuttle of a grateful Selkath named Masshas to Telos IV.[3]
Once the two shuttles arrived at Telos IV, Narod and K'Kruhk met up with Masshas. The Selkath thanked the two Jedi once more, and offered them a place to stay at an apartment his family owned. The Jedi agreed and sought refuge in the apartment complex, along with Masshas, who's family was very grateful to see him. As a gift of gratitude, Masshas rewarded the two Jedi with the family owned starship, The Drive. The two Jedi sought rest, but were unable to rest for long. After the Battle of Slok, Si'va Morrer of the Inquisitorius was ordered, by his superiors, to find the Jedi who assisted in the battle. He was able to track the Imperial shuttles to Telos IV and began questioning locals. When he received the required information, he burst into the apartment and engaged in a duel with Narod and K'Kruhk.[3]
Fighting together, Narod and K'Kruhk were able to overpower the Inquisitor and run him off, forcing him to return to his starship in orbit. Morrer planned on having the two Jedi achieve flight in the same Imperial shuttle they came to Telos on, so that he would recognize the shuttle's identification code and destroy it on-sight. However, since the two Jedi had obtained The Drive, they were able to get past Morrer and the small Imperial blockade without trouble. K'Kruhk then decided that he and Narod should keep to themselves so their training together would go without further interference. For nearly a year, the two followed subtle clues to the Hidden Temple, until they found its exact location at Teya IV within an old Jedi holocron. Along with their supplies, they traveled to the coordinates and successfully landed on the planet, finally finding the refuge they had sought.[3]
Jedi Knighthood
- "Your destiny will echo mine, young Jedi."
- —Darth Echo[src]
Upon arriving at the temple, K'Kruhk was saddened by the fact that he sensed no others had found it as he had. Regardless, he led Narod into the jungles after stationing The Drive nearby, where they encountered the local Teyans. They claimed to be protectors of the Hidden Temple, and allowed K'Kruhk and Narod both entry to the jungle and the location of the temple. Once there, the two immediately continued their training, without interference. In the first year of training, K'Kruhk remained by Narod's side and taught him various techniques, including lightsaber combat, use of the Force, and physical combat, such as the basics of Teräs Käsi. When their time together was over, K'Kruhk told Narod he had to remove himself from those around him and live in the jungle on his own, for an undetermined amount of time. Narod agreed, and ventured deeper into the jungle by himself.[3]
For approximately seven months, Narod remained in the jungle on his own, learning how to survive and make use of his gifted abilities. By 15 BBY, Narod was ready to leave the jungle, after reaching eighteen years of age and becoming physically fit.[2] During his time in the jungle, he had also passed the parts of his Jedi Trials he hadn't already passed, and prepared himself to meet with K'Kruhk once more.[3]
During the Trial of the Spirit, Narod observed an embodiment of the ancient Sith Lord Darth Echo, where he was told he'd eventually come to hate Mandalorians at the time of his death. Narod was physically injured during the encounter, and called the event a "terrifying experience."[2]
When Narod finally left the jungle, he met with his Jedi Master where he received a report of how he'd done. K'Kruhk noted that Narod had just passed the Trial of the Flesh, by living on his own in the jungle, that Narod had passed the Trial of Courage when he fought and led in the Battle of Slok, and he noted that Narod had passed his Trial of Skill when he assisted in the duel against Si'va Morrer. Although K'Kruhk did not witness Narod's Trial of the Spirit, he trusted his apprentice and knew that he had passed, based on the fact that he still remained in tact. With that, he congratulated Narod on his successful ascension to Jedi Knighthood.[3]
Imperial conflicts
After Narod became a Jedi Knight, he and K'Kruhk remained on Teya IV for a few more months, resting and preparing for war, as well as having training sessions together. Also, Narod finally found the time to properly fix the transponder and communications relay they had bought years earlier, installing the relay on their ship for extended communications and planning to use the transponder to find any signals or codes to hope to break them, in order to hinder any Imperial offensive. After leaving Teya aboard their starship, the first code they intercepted was about slaves being held on Trilos, one of the three moons of Atraken, after a relatively easy Imperial takeover. The two Jedi ventured to the moon world, hiding their ship amongst nearby forest. They entered the local encampment under the guise of beggars, where they met a boy named Angoni.[7]
Unbeknown to them, the two Inquisitors-in-charge, Balu and Chanay, had successfully bought out Angoni and, sensing the arrival of the Jedi, used him to lure the Jedi into a trap. The trick worked; as soon as Angoni led the Jedi into a nearby hangar, where the slave laborers were supposedly being kept, a small battalion of stormtroopers and the two Inquisitors ambushed the Jedi. Immediately, they engaged in battle; while both Jedi fought the stormtroopers, Narod fought against Balu, a male Kel Dor, while K'Kruhk fought against Chanay, a female Zabrak. Narod's duel eventually led to the outside, by a cliffside. Narod was disarmed of his weapon and forced to use hand-to-hand combat, which he used to successfully disarm Balu as well.[7]
The two then fought hand-to-hand, but Narod ended as the victor; when Balu attempted to pounce on Narod while he was down, Narod used his legs to elevate the Kel Dor off the ground and over the cliffside. After recovering his lightsaber, Narod rushed back into the battle to assist K'Kruhk, but his companion instead ordered a retreat, stating the battle wasn't winnable. The two fled, returned to their ship, and took off as soon as possible. They faced some opposition as their ship left Trilos's orbit, but were safe once they exited the Kattellyn system.[7]
Downtime at home
The KrypTek Insurgence
Return to the family
- "I'm home for good, I hope."
- —Narod Antrell to Zeri Undis Antrell[src]
Following the death of Lyus Silep, Narod returned to his family at Dantooine, and he began to spend more time with them.[8] Distraught by the ongoing war, he began questioning his purpose in it and wondered if it would be worth it. When he felt depressed in the months following Silep's death, he would seek solitude in the Phydah Forest near his homestead,[9] where many travelers visited to gather berries or for sight seeing.
At some point while visiting the Phydah Forest, Narod entered meditation and awoke from his trance to find an apparition before him. The apparition wielded a red lightsaber, and, without speaking, challenged Narod to a duel. The two dueled for a short moment, and they both were subsequently disarmed, instead engaging in hand-to-hand combat, with Narod as the victor. At the end of their duel, however, the apparition disappeared and left Narod with unanswered questions. Narod later realized that the apparition came as a result of his stress through his meditation.[9] Narod also realized that meditating was not the best way to deal with his hardships, and so he dedicated himself to spending more time with his family instead.[8]
For nearly a year after the Battle of Lurr, Narod and his family were left in peace. However, sometime during the year, Ehma Savoh approached Narod on Dantooine and informed him of news on the planet Dolomar. Si'va Morrer used his unorthodox methods to raid the planet and cut off their heat supply, using it as bait, knowing Narod would do his best to stop people from dying. Along with Savoh, Narod left Tillaj aboard The Drive and headed for Dolomar. Once they arrived, they covered themselves in warm clothing because of the cold weather and headed out of their ship towards the DoloGuard barracks. There, the two freed the DoloGuards from Imperial control and lead a counterattack against the stormtroopers surrounding the area. Once the northern sector, which contained the heat generators, was secured, Narod and Savoh headed for the southern sector while the DoloGuards attempted to repair the machines.[3]
Upon arrival in the southern sector, Narod was confronted by Si'va Morrer and Gno Tyruhn for the first time since the Battle of Mytaranor. The two Jedi engaged in a duel with the Inquisitor and his apprentice, with Narod dueling Morrer and Savoh with Tyruhn. Throughout the duel, Narod was able to maintain a stalemate, which frustrated Morrer. The Inquisitor used his rage in an attempt to overcome Narod, but Narod was able to deflect his attacks more easily that way, using a more calm and patient form. However, Savoh was unable to match up to Tyruhn's brute strength, and so Narod shoved Morrer out of his way to assist his Jedi companion. Working together, Narod and Savoh were able to defeat Tyruhn, with Narod severing his arm and Savoh finishing the job by decapitation. When Morrer realized he had lost and was outmatched, he fled on his ship. Following the end of the conflict, the two Jedi successfully repaired the broken generators and subsequently returned home.[3]
Back at Dantooine, Narod began to spend more time with his family and became more loyal to them, determined to stay out of the war as much as possible, for their sake. Narod also had Ehma Savoh become more acquainted with his family, which developed a strong friendship between her and Zeri. Also, Narod began helping out more with the city of Tillaj, assisting with farming, building, and refuge for those who needed it. As the Galactic Civil War continued, Narod and his family remained at home safely and in peace, for nearly two years.[8]
Break in the peace
- "Don't do this to them, this is between us!"
- —Narod Antrell to Si'va Morrer, via HoloNet[src]
At some point by 1 BBY, Si'va Morrer was able to track down his rival, Narod, on Dantooine. Morrer, being unorthodox, assembled a battalion of stormtroopers and hired gunmen without proper consent from other Imperial authorities and without notification, as a small attack team for Dantooine. His plan was to attack the city and enact "martial law" to force Narod into action, while he would invade the Antrell homestead and kidnap Zeri and Roviik. When the invasion force landed several dozen clicks away from Tillaj, the police force was alerted of the Imperial presence, and prepared a counterattack. Aron Aldamar, recently promoted chief-of-police, called on Narod for assistance. Narod agreed to assist and headed for Tillaj on a speeder on his own, leaving his family behind, where he believed they would be safe. When the battalion of Imperial units arrived at the fortified city, they demanded entry. Narod attempted to negotiate, but failed in doing so and the Imperial forces rushed in, in a hostile manner.[3]
Narod, along with the police force, did their best to defend the city. Since Narod and the police force were thinly spread, they were slowly able to assist civilians, while the Imperial forces arrested many without consequence. Very few Tillaj denizens were actually killed, and more stormtroopers ended up getting killed instead. Over the course of nearly two hours, the battle continued, until the city of Tillaj was successful in its defense. Remaining forces retreated upon callback, which was after Morrer succeeded in his goal. While the battle was ongoing, he was able to invade the Antrell homestead, deactivate V-3PO, and kidnap Zeri and Roviik. Zeri dueled the Inquisitor in an attempt to defend herself and her son, but she was defeated and drugged, knocking her unconscious; the same was subsequently done to Roviik as well. When Narod sensed his family was in danger, he immediately returned home, only to find them missing, with only a message left behind by Morrer.[3]
Using his HoloNet message board, Narod read the message Morrer left him and learned that his family was being kept on Voktunma, and Morrer was officially issuing "the Final Challenge." Obsessed over defeating and killing Narod, Morrer set terms for their duel. These included that the duel would be to the death, and that if Narod failed to win, he would first have to watch his family die, who were being kept at bay by restraints and neural disruptors. Narod, angry, immediately boarded his ship and departed for Voktunma. He arrived several hours later, and engaged Morrer in combat after few spoken words.[3]
Throughout the duel, Narod lost the upper hand due to his loss of control for emotions. When he remembered what he was fighting for, he regained control of himself and of the duel, and succeeded in defeating Morrer. However, when Narod refused to kill the Inquisitor, regardless of the terms of the duel, Morrer was angered and ordered Narod's family to be killed. When the stormtroopers attacked, Narod immediately jumped to his family's defense and successfully protected them. Seeing this, Morrer realized that is was Narod's drive and relentless will that made him a better combatant, and thus gave in and called his men back. He ordered them to safely allow the Antrell family to leave Voktunma. Narod removed his family from their restraints and thanked Morrer, before heading back to his ship. As the family left the planet and Narod plotted a course back to Dantooine, Morrer took his own life back at the dueling arena.[3]
Into the Unknown
- "It's destiny, Roviik. It's what we have to do. Reach for the unknown."
- —Narod Antrell to Roviik Antrell[src]
Following the events at Voktunma, Narod finally made the decision to leave Dantooine and explored space for good, for the safety of his family, mainly his son. Since Dantooine was in the Outer Rim Territories, Narod knew venturing into unexplored space, namely the Unknown Regions, would be easy to achieve. After attending to the wounds Zeri had obtained and to Roviik's fever immediately after returning home, Narod explained his plan to his family, and they both understood and agreed. For the next year and a half, the family made the preparations required to leave their home behind without a trace, so that they would not be followed by anyone and be safe from the Galactic Empire.[3]
One of the first preparations Narod made was downgrading The Drive from a warship to cargo ship, so it would better benefit their trip by having more cargo space, which would also give the ship more speed. The second important arrangement made was loading all of his goods into his ship, and selling his house without any proper paperwork, so that he could not be traced by financial records. He also believed that, since he would be venturing into unknown space, Republic credits would be of no use to him and his family. Instead, they were paid with farmed goods and new clothing by the buyers of the house, to make their trip more comfortable and enjoyable. Lastly, Narod consulted Ehma Savoh, and convinced her to leave her life as a protector of the people behind, to join them instead. When all was ready, Narod said goodbye to the closest of his friends; amongst them were Aron Aldamar and Jerr Adoh, whom he took Roviik to meet for the first and only time.[3]
Once the family boarded The Drive but before the ship took off, Narod announced to his son that he would finally be taking him on as his official Jedi Padawan, which brought his son and wife happiness. Narod then explained to his crew that he would be using both the Antrell Star Map and the Force to guide their ship, reaching far beyond Imperial Space and for the unknown. With that, The Drive took off from Dantooine, making it the last time Narod and his family were ever heard from. As the trip began, Narod was confident that his new life would be far more pleasant than the one he was leaving behind.[3]
Legacy
- "The Alliance needs men like you, Jerr. Men who will fight on and win this war"
- —Narod Antrell to Jerr Adoh[src]
Narod Antrell left behind a small legacy amongst those he assisted throughout his years in the Galactic Civil War. Jerr Adoh, being one of the two outsiders that knew of the detailed circumstances surrounding Narod's departure, continued to fight in the war for the sake of his departed friend, to prove to himself, and indirectly to Narod, that the war was worth fighting for. Although Narod was listed as a Rebel Alliance officer missing-in-action, Jerr Adoh knew the case was not necessarily true and continued to tell his own soldiers that Narod was "out there somewhere, alive and well." Narod's other close friend, Aron Aldamar, was the only other person who knew fully well why Narod departed. He too kept Narod's legacy alive by "posthumously" awarding him with the Badge of Honor for his assistance he gave to the small city.[3]
Amongst others he influenced were Masshas the Selkath and the Whiphid clans near the Ithaqua Station. Narod and K'Kruhk had both assisted Masshas and his Selkath companions, and therefore they first thanked the two Jedi by giving up their previously owned ship, The Drive, to them. Later, though, Masshas was married and had children, and continued the legacy of both Narod and K'Kruhk by telling his children of their deeds, enhancing them with some exaggeration for the sake of folklore; with that, the two Jedi became legend to the small Selkath family. On a larger scale, the Whiphids that were assisted by Narod and Zeri continued to tell the tale of the two Jedi as well, to their children, grandchildren, and some of the outsiders that visited the planet, such as historians. Because of this, the two Jedi were remembered properly and records of their duties were created, although the name "Antrell" never appeared in any text, since the Whiphids who knew Narod's full name had either passed on or forgotten it.[3]
Personality and traits
- "Why hurt them? They've done nothing to you!"
- —Narod Antrell to Si'va Morrer, concerning Dolomars[src]
Narod Antrell was described as a protector and concerned citizen of those under oppression. Narod was famous among the locals for having a strong will to protect the freedom and rights of those against the Galactic Empire, as well as for his dedication to fighting for those rights. However, what many didn't know was that Narod, regardless of how strong he appeared, was very emotional and embraced his passion. He believed there was no point to life without passion, whether it be loving other living beings or loving abstract objects or concepts.[3]
Narod personally made many friends in his time as a Rebel, and love those closest to him like brothers. When Lyus Silep died from his injuries from battle, Narod was extremely distraught and driven into depression. At that point, Narod began doubting his own ability to protect those around him and whether or not fighting was worth it. Later, after his family was kidnapped, Narod determined it was not worth it, and he wanted to give his son a normal life, without war.[3]
As a father and husband, Narod was usually strict with where and when his family could be at certain places, but mostly for their safety due to the war, especially since the Jedi were unwelcome in Imperial Space. With his son especially, Narod would place curfews and boundaries, to prevent his son from being hurt. Ironically, it was at his home where Roviik was kidnapped, hence why Narod had his family leave their lives behind. He cared deeply for his son and wife, so much that he would lose control of himself, if the situation was drastic enough, risking everything to save them.[3] Narod was naturally angry a lot, which began since his childhood after being taken from his home.[6]
Also, Narod was very caring of others, even those who weren't his friends. Although he killed many stormtroopers and a couple of Inquisitors throughout the Galactic Civil War, he appreciated all life, which he believed was the will of the Force to do so. Narod killed only in combat and when necessary for the greater good he believed in or to save the lives of others who he deemed innocent. Even still, he refused to kill Si'va Morrer when the Inquisitor was defeated in their final duel, showing his respect for life and his appreciation of it, unwilling to take a life of another without just cause. In the case of Morrer, Narod no longer perceived him as a threat once he defeated him in their duel.[3]
Talents and abilities
Narod Antrell was a Force-sensitive, thus why Joraic'enlos brought him into the Jedi Order. However, unlike most Jedi learners and younglings, Narod was considered as having lesser potential than most other Padawans, which is why he was never selected by a Jedi Master after his only prospective teacher, Cinde Moun, was killed. Even though others may have considered Narod a failed Padawan, he continued to believe in himself and was dedicated to his studies, even after being transferred into the AgriCorps, and he still was a strong believer of the Force.[1][5] This is what pushed him to be a strong practitioner of the Force, using basic techniques with efficiency in battles and duels. Among his favorite techniques to use were Force Speed and various forms of Telekinesis.[3]
Narod was also a skilled lightsaber duelist, and he dedicated a lot of his time to the trait. Although he held the Force in high regard, he preferred to focus on enhancing his physical condition, staying fit, and learning different forms of combat. Amongst these forms were Desnium, his personal lightsaber combat form, and Teräs Käsi, a skill he used when unarmed in combat. However, Narod was at an intermediate level in Teräs Käsi, not nearly as skilled as a master and when under duress, he often lost focus and seemed clumsy.[9] As a lightsaber combatant, Narod enjoyed using speed and rapid counterattacks, although he was mostly skilled when he remained on the defensive, as well as calm. Again, like with Teräs Käsi, Narod would lose focus and be blinded by his rage if under extreme duress in combat.[3]
Other skills Narod had included the ability to work well with computers and similar pieces of technology. He wasn't a skilled hacker or codebreaker, although he was able to successfully repair droids and communication systems, as seen by his repairs made to V-3PO and by the constant repairs he made to The Drive, as well as the successful downgrade he gave to the ship. Also, throughout his time in the Galactic Civil War, Narod was the one who would intercept Imperial transmissions and messages, which enabled him and his companions to successfully track and fight against active Imperial bases.[3]
Relationships
K'Kruhk
- "Never hold a grudge against someone. No good will come of it."
- —K'Kruhk to Narod Antrell[src]
Narod and K'Kruhk had a teacher-student relationship at first, with Narod as the student. In this time, Narod was respectful and, since he believed in his master, he listened to him on most occasions. As their relationship and training together progressed, their relationship became more of a bond and relative-like relationship. Each of the two Jedi looked out for each other consistently throughout the battles they endured, had respect for one another, and cared for one another. Although K'Kruhk regarded to Narod as his equal, Narod openly stated to his master that he held him in high regard and that K'Kruhk was like a strong father-figure to him, since Narod only knew his own father for a short time. When K'Kruhk died, Narod was devastated and was in depression for a short time.[3]
Roviik Antrell
- "I hope dad knows what he's doing!"
- —Roviik Antrell to crew of The Drive[src]
When his son Roviik was born, Narod was very happy and became enamored with him immediately, and at that point dedicated his life to him, along with the greater good. Since he was a first time father, Narod was inexperienced with the traits of caring for an infant, thus feeling separated from his son, although he learned thanks to his wife, and thus became closer to his son.[8] Narod cared deeply for his son throughout the boy's life, and was determined to protect him at all costs. Throughout the war, Narod began to doubt his fight against the Galactic Empire because of the risk he was putting Roviik and Zeri in, and therefore began to reconsider his life, especially after Roviik was kidnapped. By the time the family departed from Dantooine and ventured into the Unknown Regions, Narod and Roviik had a strong bond and had just begun a teacher-student relationship as well, although Roviik already looked up to his father.[3]
Zeri Undis Antrell
- "I will always love you, whether we're in battle, raising a family, or in the netherworld."
- —Zeri Undis Antrell to Narod Antrell[src]
Narod and Zeri did not immediately fall in love upon meeting, although after some time fighting alongside one another, the two came to realize they deeply cared and lusted for one another. The two were romantically active throughout their years together, and in 8 BBY, Zeri was impregnated with Roviik, the couple's only son. That same year, they were wed and, since they had inherited the Antrell estate a year before after Malua Antrell died, moved into their new home. When the two became parents, Zeri had more experience due to her training as a nurse and was able to aid in Narod's bonding with Roviik. Through activities like those, Zeri and Narod continued to bond and make their relationship stronger as lovers and parents, and although they remained romantically active as much as possible, both of them had made Roviik their main priority.[8][3]
Behind the scenes
Narod Antrell (pronounced /nô-räd än-trĕll/) was created and portrayed by Victor Dorantes. The name comes from the surnames "Dorantes" and "Cantrell," when altered and put together, and the name is without a deeper meaning.[10] The name first appeared on the internet in late 2005,[11] after Dorantes had created it sometime in the beginning of that school year. Following that, the name appeared numerous times in different role playing games, and the character always had similar physical features that resembled Dorantes himself. Eventually, Dorantes properly cosplayed as Narod Antrell on both Halloween 2006 and 2007,[10][12] becoming the official portrayer of his character through snapshots. In August 2008, Dorantes began portraying Narod Antrell again in his mini-web series Knighthood: The Web Series, this time in live-action sequences.[13]
The story of Narod Antrell was popularized at Wikia, the Star Wars Fanon Wiki, through its article on the Wiki; it became the first Featured Article written by Dorantes[14] and has since retained both its elevated status and popularity[15][16] among other users. The article Narod Antrell has also won twice in the website's annual Wiki Awards, once as the "Best Jedi Character" and once as the "Best Overall Character."[15][16] Also on the site, the article has had the most revisions,[17] as the story has been altered on multiple occasions by Dorantes to make the story more plausible and follow canon as closely as possible, as well as the timeline of the Alternative Star Wars Saga.[10]
Narod Antrell has been the flagship character of Dorantes since the character's creation, and has gone through much development. Various names were created to use on Narod Antrell before "Narod Antrell" was actually created, including Roviik, Kiiv Torr, Dorvi Ma'los, and Vice Bree. All of these names were created by manipulating other names, whether Dorantes did it himself or by using Star Wars Name Generators.[10] Lastly, the character of Narod Antrell was parodied by Dorantes himself at a partner site of the Star Wars Fanon Wiki, Darthipedia, the Star Wars Humor Wiki. There, Narod Antrell is instead known as "Nimrod Anthill" and is also portrayed by Dorantes, although in a much less serious and vulgar manner.[18]
Non-canonical information
During their mission to Castell, Narod and Zeri were captured by the Imperial Inquisitor Otto Ciel. The two were separated, and Ciel ended up poisoning Zeri, enraging Narod, which led to a duel between the two. Narod won the duel and poisoned Ciel with his own toxin in order to sway him, but Narod was unsuccessful in retrieving the antidote for Zeri in time, as Ciel refused to give him the location and instead let himself die as a result of the toxin. When Zeri died in Narod's arms, he allowed his rage to takeover and went berserk on the entire Imperial facility, killing any that got in his way as he made his way out with Zeri's corpse, including the Gossam prisoners he originally planned to free.[19]
Narod made it to The Drive and left Castell, as he was pursued by Imperial starfighters. Narod was able to dodge the starfighters and make a jump to hyperspace, evading the Imperials for the time being. He wept furiously at the loss of his lover, and, after a few days adrift in space, he gave Zeri a small, private funeral. Narod dressed her in fresh clothes, placed her arms in a crossed position above her chest with her lightsaber, and then wrapped her body in robes and blankets. Once the body was fastened, he launched her body into space. Without anyone or anything to worry about, Narod attempted to make it back to Dantooine, but his ship failed him on its way. He instead ended up in the Mid Rim, on a crash course to Riflor.[19]
Narod carelessly piloted his ship into the planet's atmosphere, and allowed The Drive to crash, as he lost the will to live. Narod was knocked unconscious by the crash, and broke both his left arm and leg. From the distance, a self-proclaimed Sith Lord named Darth Krissar saw the incoming starship and went to the site of the crash, where he found Narod to be Force-sensitive. The Advozse took in Narod and began to heal his wounds, with the intention of making Narod his new Sith Apprentice. When Narod awoke in the process of healing, he was angered by the fact that he'd been saved.[19]
As time went on, however, Narod began to succumb to the speeches Krissar gave him. Most of the speeches included pushing Narod to get revenge on those that caused his depression and rage, to embrace the power he gained through his rage, and that he was meant to do so, as proven by his survival of the crash. For two years, Narod remained as the Sith Apprentice of Krissar and learned all he could from him, planning to eventually dethrone him. On the other hand, Krissar believed Narod would fail, as had his previous apprentices. When Narod challenged Krissar to a duel and won, the Sith Lord was taken by surprise and ended up begging for mercy, which he did not receive.[19]
Just before killing his former Sith Master, Narod stated that "Narod Antrell" was gone, and that he had become "Darth Aduro."[19]
