Myron Seter (born 4,013 BBY) was an Amrellian Human male mobster in the Human Mafia and one of the two caporegimes of the Trapani Crime Family. He served loyally under Don Jirebon Trapani, the founder of the Trapani Family, for over five decades. Born in A-City on the world of Anon, Seter was struck by disaster early in his childhood years after both of his parents suffered and subsequently died from an immunity deficiency virus. Seter briefly lived in an orphanage before being adopted by the parents of Hyram Darden, with whom he became best friends. Together, the two entered a life of crime by working under Don Nikola Georg of the Georg Crime Family within the Human Mafia, a criminal syndicate. They recruited Jirebon Trapani into the criminal empire, though Trapani soon discovered that Georg was a police informant and killed him. After a brief war with the Georg Family, during which Seter assassinated the new Don, Sven Nikola Georg, Trapani, Darden, and Seter emerged victorious and claimed control over all of Anon's criminal underworld. Trapani then founded the Trapani Crime Family and named Seter as one of his caporegimes, or captains.
Two years later, the Trapani Family leadership decided to further expand to the planet Romin, where they formed a shaky alliance with the Mangani Family. Seter was then promoted to underboss and led a war against the Felip Family for control over the world. Don Trapani subsequently assigned Seter and his protege, Deimos Percival, the task of going to Falleen and assassinating Lord Jefair Tabris. The two men succeeded in their mission, though Seter was captured.

Biography

Early life
Edit
Myron Seter was born on the world of Anon in 4,013 BBY, in the Little Corellia district of A-City. When he was three years old, both Seter and his parents were plagued by an immunity deficiency virus. Due to their poverty, caused by the Mid-Rim Depression, Seter's parents could not afford proper health care and vaccinations. Using the little money they had, Seter's parents sacrificed themselves by spending their money on antivirals to prevent Seter's passing. His parents dying just months after being diagnosed with the virus, Seter was sent to an orphanage, where he received medical treatment and was cured. He was then adopted by the parents of Hyram Darden, with who he would become lifelong best friends.[1]
Seter spent the rest of his childhood years living with Darden's family. Unlike Darden, who had achieved above-average grades in school, Seter failed several of his classes. He eventually dropped out and, knowing that his lack of a formal education would damage his ability to obtain a job, began intense physical training at a private military camp on the outskirts of A-City, where he learned the first three tiers of Echani martial arts, basic combat tactics and strategy, and marksmanship. After Darden's parents also became ill, both Darden and Seter began working for Don Nikola Georg, the head of the Georg Crime Family in the Human Mafia. Acting as Darden's bodyguard, Seter often accompanied him on jobs collecting money from Georg's various criminal operations, such as drug fronts, gambling rings, and prostitution houses.[1]
Eventually, Darden and Seter met Jirebon Trapani, who they had heard was looking for work to help support his family and was willing to do anything for money. The three men worked together delivering shipments of spice to small-time dealers throughout A-City, earning a decent profit. After several months of working for Don Georg, the three learned that he was an informant for the Anon Police Force. In order to protect themselves from prosecution, Darden, Trapani, and Seter killed Georg and several of his made men.[1]
Rise to prominence
Edit
By 3,900 BBY, Seter was working with Darden under Trapani, who both Seter and Darden recognized as the greater leader between the three of them. They used Trapani Imports & Exports as a front for their criminal operations, which were composed mostly of spice-smuggling, extortion of shopkeepers and business owners, prostitution, and gambling. While Darden served as more of an adviser of sorts, Seter was the "muscle" of the three, carrying out Trapani's orders, including assignments ranging from bribing law enforcement officials to performing assassinations. Around this time, Seter met and recruited Deimos Percival, who would later succeed Seter as one Trapani's right-hand men. Seter trained Percival in a number of different fields, including marksmanship, swordsmanship, and hand-to-hand combat, and also taught him how to become an efficient strategist and tactician in a crime family.[1]
Later that year, Trapani, Darden, and Seter met in the Trapani Compound to discuss the further expansion of their criminal organization. Trapani proposed that they eliminate the Georg Family, led by the original Don Georg's son, Sven Nikola Georg. Both Darden and Seter advised him against this, claiming that they did not have enough resources or followers to defeat a power like the Georg Family. Trapani ultimately ignored their advice and declared war against the Georg Family. Under Trapani's orders, Seter shot and killed Don Georg in an ambush before then bombing the Georg Family Compound. Over the next couple of months, Trapani, Darden, Seter, and their followers eliminated most of the remaining Georg Family members. With their enemies wiped out, the three claimed control over all of Anon and received permission from the Commission of the Human Mafia to create their own crime family. Trapani then officially founded the Trapani Crime Family, making himself Don, appointing Darden and Seter as his caporegimes, and recruiting Tatius Karna as his consigliere, or adviser.[1]
Human Mafia War of 3,988 BBY
Edit
In 3,988 BBY, two years after the foundation of the Trapani Crime Family, the Family's leadership, including Don Trapani, Darden, Karna, and Seter, met within the Trapani Compound to discuss the Family's future. Against Seter's and the others' protests, Don Trapani decided to form an alliance with the Mangani Family and expand their criminal empire to Romin, where the Manganis were headquartered. Dons Trapani and Whir Mangani both agreed to appoint Seter as the commander of their combat forces for their war effort against the Felip Family, the leading syndicate organization on Romin, and Don Trapani promoted Seter to the rank of underboss within his family. With Seter at the lead, the Trapanis and Manganis began a short but destructive and costly war against the Felips and their allies.[3]
Under Seter's leadership, the Mangani-Trapani alliance managed to seize control over The Strip, a long, highly-populated metropolitan area, and several other areas the syndicate organizations considered high-value. After almost an entire year of fighting, the war was brought to an end after the Felip Family's underboss, Ludias Moss, as well as Bram Harbart and another of their capos were killed by Trapani assassins. Meanwhile, during the simultaneous assassinations, Seter and his protege, Deimos Percival, under orders from Don Trapani, traveled to the world of Falleen where they assassinated Lord Jefair Tabris, the head of the noble House of Tabris. Though they succeeded in their mission, Seter sacrificed himself in order to allow Percival to escape and was captured by Castle Tabris guards. Don Trapani learned of Seter's capture minutes before his wedding with Cher Teasdale. Don Trapani's sister, Gilda, led a prayer during the wedding's reception party for Seter's return.[3][2]
Legacy
Edit
- “What a man.”
- —Yirebi Trapani on Seter[src]
Sometime before 3,956 BBY, Seter died and passed the title of underboss on to a successor. Though he trained Percival to succeed him, it was unknown whether Percival ever did become underboss. Seter's funeral was attended by thousands of Dons, made men, and other mobsters. At the time of his death, Seter was greatly respected among the galaxy's criminal underworld, having earned a reputation for being a brilliant fighter tactician.
In 28 BBY, on its list of the Top 100 Most Powerful Criminals in Galactic History, the HoloNet News listed Seter as number three (tied with Darden), calling him "a brilliant crime lord." Yirebi Trapani, the first Don Trapani's youngest son, considered Seter to be one of the greatest mobsters to have ever lived.
Personality and traits
Edit
- “A little rough around the edges, but a good man. I'd die for him without hesitation.”
- —Hyram Darden on Seter[src]
Throughout his life, Seter was known for his brutishness and hotheadedness, traits that Jirebon Trapani often disliked in most people, though he managed to overlook them in his friend because of Seter's tactical abilities. Seter, though considered sensible and kind by his friends and allies, was often thought of as fierce and ruthless by his enemies. Tatius Karna once called Seter "a man you don't want to anger," though he also remarked on Seter's compassion, calling him "a good man."
Seter was also known, somewhat comically, for his numerous sexual encounters with women, which often were "one night stands," and also for his impatience with verbal negotiations. In addition, it was reputed that Seter regretted his choice to live a life of crime during his later years, though whenever asked if he had any regrets, he always claimed he did not. Deimos Percival, Seter's friend and protege, would later claim that Seter wanted to restart his life over so that he could make "the right choices" and avoid crime.
Talents and abilities
Edit
Seter was considered by many to be a gifted strategist and tactician. His prowess in organization, strategic skills, and tactical abilities were displayed on many occasions throughout his life. Using careful planning and tactics, he successfully led a war that eliminated the Georg Crime Family with less than a fourth of the Georg Family's numbers and financial resources. Under Don Trapani's orders, Seter acted as the Don's general, commanding the Trapani Family's forces in numerous battles. He served as the lone commander of the Trapanis' forces during a war which would see them take control of an entire planet's criminal underworld in the Anon system without himself having to fire a single shot; Seter had persuaded the rival forces into thinking that he had an entire army of enforcers who had already infiltrated their home base ready to kill their Don.
Seter was a trained marksman, having attended a military camp for several months to further his combat abilities. He was an adept swordsman who displayed his prowess multiple times, most notably when he once dueled and killed Sven Nikola Georg's top bodyguard, a former Republic Marine. Seter also was trained in unarmed hand-to-hand combat and in the first three tiers of Echani martial arts, though he rarely utilized his training as he often used V-Gun pistols and vibroswords during combat instead.
Behind the scenes
Edit
The character Myron Seter was created by Dalton Wylind, author of the Force Legend Series, in which Seter appears. Seter is a main character in the novel Glorior, where he, according to Wylind, "provides a certain amount of comical relief." The character was inspired by Sonny Corleone from Mario Puzo's The Godfather and its acclaimed film adaption. He is portrayed by Joe from the 2010 video game Mafia II.
