Messuni Roserain was a wandering gunslinger during the Galactic Civil War and for a decade and a half afterward. After training in armed combat to take revenge on Boba Fett for the deaths of her family, Messuni turned her skills toward helping others - particularly against organized crime. She had a frequent relationship with private eyes Jav Yonx and Remy Diabet. She married the latter, and settled on Corellia with him, where she operated a dojo teaching personal defense to women.

Messuni was born to an Alderaanian mother and an Adumarian father. Her family moved frequently, but she considered Alderaan her home. When Messuni was a teenager, the bounty hunter Boba Fett killed her parents. He kidnapped both children but killed Messuni's sister in transit. Messuni escaped the Slave I, and fled to the Outer Rim. There she met a Mandalorian who trained her in armed combat and Mandalorian culture. She used this training in two attempts to avenge her family. Both ended with Fett leaving her for dead. Messuni stopped actively hunting Fett, and turned her skills instead to helping others where she saw need. She especially aided those who were fighting organized crime. For years, Messuni held onto her vendetta against Fett, as well as anger at the Empire for the destruction of Alderaan.

Messuni sought Fett out shortly after leaving her mentor's tutelage, and found him on Borleias. He shot the young woman and left her for dead, before she could so much as draw her weapon. Her next attempt was on Sluis Rei, where Fett beat her unarmed. After that encounter, she gave up her quest for revenge in order to aid other victims of the underworld with her newfound skills.

Her next run-in with Fett was coincidental, as he was pursuing two bountyheads that Messuni happened to be assisting - Remy Diabet and Jav Yonx. She fought him twice protecting the pair of investigators. In the first fight, he shot her in the shoulder as she fled with Diabet and Yonx. In the second, she finally managed to best him, though Fett later maintained that he was toying with her. Messuni stood over a fallen Boba Fett with enough power in her blaster for one shot, and chose to use it to save Yonx from a murderer rather than exact vengeance.

Messuni and Fett met again a little over a year later in the aftermath of an Imperial victory over the Rebels on the planet Eraban. Because the local moff despised Fett, he and Messuni had to work together to fight their way through four city blocks of patrolling Imperial troops to their ships. At the hangar, however, Fett betrayed Messuni to collect on the warrant for her arrest. With the help of The Sonar Man, she escaped the trap.
