• Hello.

First say because of my English level perhaps there are errors.

I'm representing the Star Wars Fanon Wiki en Español to propose you to add the link of our wiki with the others you have.

Thank you.

• Here's my basic template message:

I noticed your recently uploaded image[s] here [isn't/aren't] sourced or licensed in accordance with the Image Policy. The "No source" and "No license" templates have been added accordingly.
Please see this section of the Image Policy for all the details about what's required to comply with the Image Policy, in respect of the rights and work of the artists who create images. You can find a step-by-step guide to sourcing, licensing, and uploading here; special guidance for fixing an existing image is in Step Four. Please also note that, per this section, the image[s] may be removed if [it isn't/they aren't] sourced and licensed within twenty-four (24) hours.
Reply to this message if you have any questions or need clarification.

Much as I hope to have time for occasional enforcement, one never knows.

• I recently discovered that this is a category. It struck me as superfluous, since it's not really the sort of thing that demands a category and, more importantly, the point of it can be better expressed in the Stub and Stubby templates (or, if appropriate, Major or Improving). That said, even though it has only 18 articles, I thought I'd run it up the flagpole and see if you saluted before I summarily whacked a nearly-three-year-old category.

• This user has been uploading various R-series astromech articles and making changes to related articles over the past day or so. Because the user is unregistered, I'm assuming a wall post will be ineffective (certainly he had not seemed moved by my repeated Undos and the budding edit war with Eizen's script).

This page in particular has been problematic; Icebirgy did not make it free-edit and it has no history of being so treated, but our unregistered friend has continually re-added his own creations. As such, I put a week-long protection on the page against new and unregistered users; hopefully that will catch his attention.

• Hello Savage, it seems this user and this user are sockpuppets of the same contributor, based on the content of this message and the history of this page. Apart from writing in a similar fashion, both accounts were created within an hour of each other as seen here and here.

Unrelated to this matter, I would like to inform you that I will be wrapping up my unit testing phase here within the week. Thank you for graciously permitting me to test my experimental code on SWFanon. If you ever have need of any custom scripts in the future, I would be happy to write them for you. Feel free to message me on my wall or my Dev wiki talk page at any time.

• I recommend an editing block against this user for what I consider to be bad faith violations of the Image Policy. See this thread for the whole saga, but in short, we now have two separate instances of him claiming permission to use images for which he did not have permission. Last time the image in question was copyrighted to Crytek and EA. This time there are two issues:

• This image may be found in its original form here, and is copyrighted to LucasFilm (presumably as a work-for-hire copyright) and licensed to Fantasy Flight. I think we both know enough about how LucasFilm (and now Disney) handle licensing to consider any claim of permission incredible.
• This image may be found in its original form here. I have a DA account myself, and I took the liberty of reaching out to the original artist, who stated that permission was granted to only one person—the original commissioner, some four years ago. I can screenshot and post that DA conversation if need be.

I assume bad faith due to both Dester123's failure to respond to any of my previous messages and the flagrantly false claims of permission. I told the artist of the latter I'd remove the image ASAP; I've left them both this long only so that you have them available for comparison.

• I've attempted some basic forensic analysis and noticed the editing habits of this user are suspiciously similar to those of User:DoomBlaster1234, User:The Batman1233, and User:ZangstuHollow.

Compare the source editor layout of this article (The Batman1233), this article (Dester123), this article (ZangstuHollow), and this article (DoomBlaster1234). All make use of obscure infobox templates, an inconsistent template layout, and the very uncommon <blockquote> tag. Three of the four accounts edit material related to a "Khoan" subject matter. Dester123, The Batman1233, and DoomBlaster1234 have also never responded to Sakaros's image violation threads.

DoomBlaster1234 and Dester123 are both active on all but one of the wikis listed in Dester123's "My Favorite Wikis" section. All four of the accounts are active on Bleach Fanon wiki, the Marvel Comics Fanon wiki, and this wiki.

• I've deleted the artist's file because it's no longer necessary to keep up. I did a little digging into the accounts' histories myself, and I'm adding BillyJoeSkull to the list of sockpuppet accounts. He created New Khoan Empire on this wiki, which was created by Dester123 on Halo Fanon here. As far as I can tell, none of these accounts has ever replied to any message wall/talk page post on any wiki. That includes the lengths to which I went to attempt to help DoomBlaster with image policy warnings, culminating in my message that the next infraction would be an infinite block. Thus, I've elected to block all of these accounts infinitely for a combination of sockpuppetry and image policy violations. I've left each one a message directing them to my CC message wall if they feel I've acted erroneously. If any of them actually leave me a reply, I'll reexamine whether or not there may have been a mistake, but I don't expect that to happen.

• Greetings. Sorry to intrude, but Halo Fanon admin here. Good to know the socks exist, as we have similar policies on our wiki and will run a short investigation into how many there were on our site. Thanks for your diligence in investigating the matter, as it likewise benefits us. Regards, ASniper.

• Hey there. Short of a CheckUser, which Wikia/FANDOM staff historically don't run for relatively "small" stuff like vandalism-less sockpuppetry, there's no way to know with complete certainty how many accounts might be connected, but these seem pretty clear. Best of luck.

• Almost miss my moderator page-locking abilities. This user's making illegitimate content edits to a non-free use page and reverting my edits.

      Loading editor
• I talked to him. Didn't lock the page yet; Sav has corrupted me enough that I'm assuming good faith and hoping the user was just ignorant of the Editing Policy. But I've got an eye on it now.

That said, I wish you were still a Moderator too, especially because I'm going on hiatus in about a week...

        Loading editor
• Maybe you should tell him he can create a differently-named article of the same character, like "Darth Nox (Harian96)" or something. He just pinged the author, who hasn't been active in four-ish years and is unlikely to respond.

From an ideological perspective, I no longer feel I can enforce many of the policies currently in place. In my opinion, Sav should just temporarily promote one of the other Recent Changes patrollers while you're gone.

• Thanks for the heads up, Jamie, and Sak, that was a good message. We’ll see what he chooses to do.

As for moderation, while I haven’t made up my mind, my current inclination is to let things just play out. Jamie’s around, ITCO’s been around a bit too, Eizen’s script is watching for blatant illegitimate anon edits, and things haven’t been too out of control. Should that status quo prove unsustainable while Sak’s gone, I’ll reevaluate. I respect and would certainly take into account both of your opinions if you feel strongly in any way.

• Jamie's around...

I'll be around until the middle of January when classes resume, after which time my activity will be sporadic until May. If ITCO were more consistently active, I'd say promote him to full moderator. He's got the experience and his recent edits have been primarily maintenance-focused. Maybe it's worth asking him to poke his head around here more frequently to keep an eye on things while the rest of us are offline. Eizen's also done some maintenance stuff. In any case, we are probably gonna need someone to handle deletions, edit wars, and comment cleanup while Sak's away.

• Hey, Sav. Its been awhile, well maybe at least three weeks, or less since we last spoke. How's things?

Anyways, lemme get straight to the point of what I wanna talk to you about. Have you ever considered using Discord as a replacement for Star Wars Fanon's chat feature?

If you're not familar with Discord then I'll tell you the basics, and I'll also leave a link to its Wikipedia page if you want to read more of it. So Discord is a VoIP application where you can chat and voice chat through text and voice channels which fit into servers. I have a few of my own and am part of a total of eleven servers, including my own. I also thought that this would be good for the wiki. Most wikis use Discord now.

Also if you're not sure about it then I guess that's fine. I'm not really gonna try to enforce it, or just spam it a lot. Besides you know me, Sav, I'm just an editor whose along for the ride with the Admin and Moderator.

• Oh, fine, here you go: six plot summaries just for you.

      Loading editor
• I appreciate the summaries and, to my delight and surprise, found I remembered more or less everything—it was the sequence of events more than the events themselves that I needed to straighten out.

I just finished reading The Fog of War and made a couple quick fixes, as I'm sure you'll notice. I enjoyed it a lot. The expanded cast was particular welcome, especially insomuch as the additional characters helped showcased how far Tirien and Narasi have come as individuals and a unit.

• You were right, this was a good idea.

• Am I ever wrong? ;) I do think this is a more satisfying ending, for whatever it's worth.
