The MI3 are the best field commanders that the Republic has at its service. Were they more obedient to the Republic, and less so to Drewika Zirátæ, we might have a chance at winning this war.
Chancellor Palpatine

MI3 was the name of a trio of ARC troopers who, due to their tactical brilliance, were experts at commanding land battles. Much of it was due to their association with Drewika Zirátæ, who eventually adopted the three of them as his legal brothers in Acrolian law. Made up of Commander Tavo, A-28; Captain Kagi, A-23; and Lieutenant Aven, A-16; MI3 was often deployed as one unit, usually with Zirátæ as General and the Republic Marine Corps as the batallion. However, the members of MI3 were at times deployed separately, leading troops on worlds as diverse as Coruscant, Taris, Raxus Prime, Teth, Ryloth, Hypori, and Kamino. Commander Tavo was known to have fought in the Defense of Corellia, as well as assisting in the training of future ARC troopers of Kamino; Captain Kagi worked with the Coruscant Guard and reported directly to Palpatine during the last days of the Clone Wars; and Lieutenant Aven worked with Commander Colt on Kamino and defended the capital world of Coruscant during the Battle of Coruscant.

Their exploits were legendary; as Drewika Zirátæ's adopted brothers, they held something no other clone did: rights as Acrolian citizens. As such, they often were critisized for being lax with the regulations in the Grand Army. They refered to Zirátæ, their general, by name, and they often audibly criticized their orders. Their sense of humor was often seen as offensive, and was particularly pointed when aimed at the Jedi, the Senate, the Kaminoans, or the Separatists. Though they played fast and loose with the regulations, they were some of the most admired officers in the Grand Army. They were men who could be followed anywhere.

Following the end of the Clone Wars, the members of MI3 "retired" freom the Grand Army and moved to their brother's estate on Acrolis. They became the focal point for a clone underground railroad based on Acrolis, established to get as many unprivileged clones out as possible. Supported by the Acrolian Imperial Senate, MI3 infiltrated the ranks of the Galactic Empire to help "rescue" as many of their clone brothers as they could. With the majority of the Imperial army being made up of new clones from Centax 2, MI3 had an easier time extracting clones from the original Kamino batch. Though Palpatine attempted to have them caught numerous times, MI3 slipped through his fingers, largely due to their training as ARC troopers by Jango Fett himself. During the Galactic Civil War, the clones of MI3, now with a longer lifespan thanks to a cure for their accelerated growth, acted as intelligence operatives for Zirátæ, working both sides of the conflict for their own benefit. In the years following, MI3 largely retired from military life in general, instead living it up on Acrolis and Magna Luna.

Behind the Scenes[]

MI3, meaning "Military Intelligence 3," was a play off of the The Muunilinst 10 and MI6. Because Drewika Zirátæ's three ARC trooper brothers did not have a group name, a combination of the two was invented.
