Synopsis[]
The story begins as three Imperial Stromtroopers are sent to the planet of Tatooine on a mission to find the missing droids. While scanning the area the two of them find a metal limb, that resembles an arm of a protocol droid.
After examining the abandoned escape pod, the stormtroopers decide to look for the droids in the nearby canyons. One of the soldiers decides to scan the rocks with Radiation counter that soon detects a high level of radiation in the area.
Suddenly a droid with one arm appears nearby, running and screaming. He briefly mentions some "danger", but falls down after being pulled back with a chain by a Tusken raiders, that then smash the head of a stormtrooper with a pickaxe. The droid attempts to speak more, but is kicked by a shovel.
Meanwhile two other stormtroopers remain by the escape pod, wondering what took their friend so long as he didn't return after scanning the area.
They learn very soon that they've been attacked by a group of locals, when the second trooper falls prey to one of the raiders, and the third soldier tries to escape. Both are instantly killed (or badly damaged) by the sand people that decide to take all three to their camp.
A small R2 Unit, the only surviving witness to the madness on Tatooine, strums in the shadows of some hills as the gruesome creatures walk away with the bloody trophy leaving a screaming protocol droid behind.
Behind the scenes[]
As it was stated before, the movie is both a comedy and a thriller. Several moments show the death of Imperial troops, being killed by Tusken raiders in most horrific and brutal ways, as well as inept, what on the whole makes the film look more real and exciting.
Although R2-D2 and C-3PO appear in several scenes, it's not stated by the author whether these two droids are indeed the two famous characters from the original films. However the voices, used for the droids, are the ones from Episode IV and V.
