Jaratnege (Jēh'tīen'jii in Ja'taician) was a planet in the Jaratnege sector of the Unknown Regions on which the Jaratenge culture first formed.

The way Human life started on Jaratenge is unknown, but it dates many thousands of years before 30,000 BBY. Under no direct leader, the clans of Jaratenge were spread out, though had communication with one another. They were, at first, driven into hiding by the native predatory beasts of the planet, who had hunted several clans to extinction. The planet was named after the great mythological warrior, "Jaratenge". The Humans there afterward called themselves Jaratengians, descendants of the great warrior. The Jaratengians stayed settled on Jaratenge until the planet was indirectly discovered by the Fourth Republic.
The Jartengians never adopted other species into their people—even other Humans. This, by no means however, meant that they were prejudice against other races, as they treated all strangers equally. Eventually, the planet of Jaratenge became the military capital of the Order of Sovereignty and the Grand Army of Jaratenge.
The planet was discovered in 550 ABY and eventually became part of the Fourth Republic in 740 ABY), but was estranged in its affliction with them, and their successors, the Third Galactic Empire.
The planet joined the Fourth Republic, even after the Sovereign King openly view the Republic as a corrupt oppressor. The Sovereign Knightss led by the Sovereign King were tasked with protecting their planet. They fought in many of their cities when criminals would attempt a raid on cities under their protection.
Their most stunning victory was during the Raid on the Shrine of Vexus. The current Galactic Emperor assigned the 509th to kill the Sovereign Knights and capture, if possible, the Sovereign King, Aros XXIX, but the Galactic Emperor's arranged attack on the Order of Sovereignty was an utter disaster.
During the reign of the Third Galactic Empire, Jaratenge resisted the law for them to fall under the jurisdiction of the Suprema, a non-Human Imperial advisor. They attempted to use Jaratenge to legalized slavery to escape their own deep poverty. Rejection of the Superma led to even more estranged communications between the governments, almost being viewed as a resistance force.
Still, it would be thousands of years before another attack on Jaratenge was made. Led by the Order of Sovereignty's leader, the Sovereign King, the forces of the Jaratenge and the Sovereign Order were feared, and better protected by that then any weapon could have.
