[edit] Biography

[edit] Before the Stellar Imperial War

Jacen grew up in a loving but sometimes distant family that was always busy and active in galactic events. He was known to much of the public before he even knew what the public was; as the Force-sensitive firstborn son of Princess Leia and Han Solo, two heroes of the Rebellion, he was expected to do great things.

He had strong empathic ability, with both other sentients and with animals. In fact, although he did have friends at the Jedi Academy, he often preferred the company of his pets to the company of other humans. His best friend, beside his twin sister, was Tenel Ka.

Jacen was a bit apprehensive about using the Force when it was not absolutely essential, and even then he worried that improper use of the Force might lead to the Dark Side. Unlike his brother, who thought of the Force as a neutral tool for the Jedi to use for the greater good, he saw it as a dangerous weapon, one to be used only when circumstances required it and only with the utmost care.

[edit] Stellar Imperial War (26-29 ABY)

[edit] Mission to Dantooine

Even when the Stellar Imperium, a small but growing empire just past outlying regions of the New Republic, was shown to have a Sith Lord in its ranks, Jacen felt that it was wrong for the Jedi to get involved in war. His first mission in the Stellar Imperial War was in 28 ABY, two years after the war began, although it was not until this time that the skirmishes became commonplace and the New Republic took an active role in ending it; prior to this point, the people of the New Republic did not think that they were in great danger.

Dantooine suddenly disappeared, for all intents and purposes; all communication between Dantooine and the rest of the New Republic was lost. Luke chose four Jedi Knights to investigate the situation. Jacen, one of the four chosen, initially protested, but he agreed to go when he found out that Anakin was one of the others. Tiera Aranta and Vurif Meg, the other two Jedi Knights, were more advanced in their studies and would not tolerate Anakin's recklessness nor take special measures to protect him; Jacen placed himself in the role of the protector.

Halfway to Dantooine, though, their ship, the Silent Runner, was pulled out of hyperspace near the Marstill system. The crew faced an onslaught of TIE fighters, deployed by a nearby Star Destroyer, the Stellar Imperial Eternity.

Jacen and Anakin ran to the gun turrets to shoot at the TIE fighters. Jacen refused to use his Force abilities to help him shoot down the starfighters, though, because he believed that such an act would be of the Dark Side; it would be using the Force to kill sentient beings who could not protect themselves against it. He thought that if Han could do without the Force, then he could, as well.

The TIE fighters had damaged the Silent Runner severely, and placed a homing beacon on it in case of its escape, by the time Tiera realized that they had no hope of fighting off the Stellar Imperial forces. She made a blind jump to hyperspace, one intended to be short, and made much shorter when the hyperdrive failed. The Jedi were stranded.

Jacen went into a hibernation trance to extend the group's rations and life support systems; Vurif and Anakin did the same, leaving tiny Tiera to fly alone. When Jacen returned to full consciousness, ten days had passed, and they were in the only star system that was close enough for them to reach without their hyperdrive: G0-CV.

They discovered and removed the homing beacon, but it was too late; they knew that they were being followed and that the Stellar Imperial ship would soon be in the system. Tiera and Vurif carried their communications equipment into one of the ship's escape pods while Jacen and Anakin stored their tent supplies and rations into the other. Then they set a timed detonator on the ship and set their pod courses for G0-CVII, the only planet that appeared to be habitable.

Tiera and Vurif's pod was damaged in the skirmish at Marstill, though, and they were unable to steer their pod far enough away from the exploding ship to avoid getting caught in the explosion, even with their telekinetic abilities. Both were killed instantly, and the communications machinery was destroyed. Jacen and Anakin found themselves spinning towards the planet, too fast for the inertial compensators to help much. Jacen was able to slow the pod's rapid descent through the atmosphere and to the surface, and the pod crashed on G0-CVII, too damaged to fly again. Jacen and Anakin survived the crash with minimal injury; however, they were now completely stranded with no way to communicate with anyone else unless they used the Force or built a new communications system. Since the Force was dampened by the Dark Side, weakening long-distance communication everywhere, and they had limited supplies, neither option looked very promising.

[edit] Fighting Welk

Although Jacen and Anakin walked away from the crash site with only a few bruises and scrapes, their situation was a dangerous one. Their food would not last for more than a few days - a week, at most - and Jacen was able to determine from the migratory patterns of the animals and the position of the sun in the sky that they were soon to enter winter - when it would be too cold to support human life, even with their tent and limited supplies.

They fought a bit with each other early on, but soon realized that they had to work together to survive. Anakin found a stream, and they filtered the water so that it would be safe to drink. Jacen tried to collect food from wild plants. He was willing to search for animals to kill if needed, but he still felt that if it wasn't absolutely necessary for survival that they should only use the Force to help them find safe plants to eat.

They planned to dismantle the pod and build a communications device that would allow them to send a distress call to Kalla Tora, which was close enough to Marstill that they thought their transmission would reach it. Their camp-out, however, was short-lived because Lord Welk had tracked them, with the help of the homing beacon, and found the boys on G0-CVII. He brought with him two squadrons of soldiers, led by General Melany Baclaw and Lieutenant Odact.

Jacen and Anakin ran from them, but found themselves trapped between the advancing troopers and a herd of wild walkers. Jacen was unable to override the walker queen's instinct to hunt and kill them, and they chose to face the Stellar Imperial troopers instead.

When Anakin was overwhelmed by a group of Stellar Imperial troopers, Jacen attempted to buy him time to escape by turning himself over peacefully to Welk. However, as soon as he lay his lightsaber down, General Baclaw ordered her men to kill Anakin while the others captured Jacen. Jacen pulled his lightsaber back to his hand and once more fought to defend Anakin.

The boys were unable to fight off the troopers, but the walkers came to their aid by choosing to devour the troopers instead. Jacen and Anakin escaped, but two of the Stellar Imperials - Welk and Melany - survived the assault and pursued them.

Melany shot at the boys with her blaster rifle, and eventually hit Anakin, grazing his hand. The wound itself was not serious, but damaged his lightsaber, which he threw at Welk. When it exploded, Welk and Melany walked through the explosion almost unscathed. Welk withdrew his lightsaber, and Jacen pushed Anakin towards a thick grove of trees so that he could escape and Jacen could fight Welk alone.

Jacen held back at first, and throughout the fight attempted to disarm Welk without killing him or hurting him more than he had to to protect Anakin and himself. Welk noticed this and taunted him for it, but Jacen held firm, letting an opportunity to kill Welk go, and instead waiting for an opportunity to render him harmless while preserving his life. When he could, he severed Welk's saber-wielding arm near his elbow.

The outcome of the fight was uncertain, but it ended prematurely. Jacen heard Anakin cry out for help, and chose to aid Anakin and let Welk go. When he found his brother, the boy was lying on the ground, seriously injured, and Melany had her booted leg raised, ready to drop it down and crush Anakin's skull.

Jacen cut off Melany's legs below her knees, and the advancing walker queen ate what was left of her. The queen thought that the boys had brought the troopers to the walkers as food, and saw them as their own kind, not as prey. Jacen helped Anakin climb onto the queen's back, and she carried him back to the herd.

A younger walker carried Anakin back to the crash site, with Jacen close behind. There, they found that their pod had been detonated and little was left of their supplies. Welk had escaped and left them to die.

Jacen patched Anakin up as well as he could with their improvised supplies and tended to him for several days, and Anakin slowly recovered. Still, their situation had grown even more dire; Anakin's health was poorer than when they arrived, winter was fast approaching, and they now had no way to contact anyone off-planet unless Jacen reached out to Jaina with their twin bond. He was unable to get his message to her, and so Jacen and Anakin set out for the equator, where it would be less cold.

[edit] Man vs. Nature

Jacen and Anakin had to face the harsh winter on G0-CVII, at which time the planet largely turned into a frozen wasteland as it spun farther and farther away from the sun and tilted away from it. They could not cross the mountains that spanned the tropic line except to go underneath them, through a maze of traversible tunnels partly filled with water. It was necessary, at times, to swim long distances underwater to get from one cave to another, and at one point, Jacen was stuck in an underwater tunnel and he nearly drowned. He was also attacked more than once by carnivorous water weeds, but luckily did not suffer more than minimal injury.

Once they had reached the other side of the mountains and were close to the equator, they built a hut of ice and hunted for food. There was not enough wood to keep a fire going, and they did not have any external source of heat. It would have been difficult, although possible, for them to use the Force to warm themselves, but such an energy expenditure was more than their wasting bodies could handle.

Anakin's health was poor at the beginning of their journey, though, and he began to weaken further. Jacen worked hard to balance Anakin's diet and keep him healthy, but nevertheless Anakin barely survived the winter, even after they crossed a wide expanse of ice and shared a small cave with hibernating animals to better conserve warmth. At the time when the ice began to melt and Jacen built a raft to carry them down the now-liquid river, Anakin was too weak to help, and could only crawl short distances.

With warmer weather and more available food, though, they both got stronger, and began to ponder how they would get off the planet, now that day-to-day survival was less of a pressing concern.

[edit] Perseverance

Jacen and Anakin finally found a location where they could build themselves back up and think about what their next move would be. Their rest was short-lived, though, because Darth Inferna and Welk returned to G0-CVII and captured the two men. Darth Inferna was the one to face Jacen, and he found her a more difficult opponent than Welk. Her telekinetic strike wasn't enough to subdue Jacen, but she was eventually able to knock him out with Force lightning.

When Jacen returned to consciousness, he found himself inside a narrow hallway in the cargo area of the Sith ship, which was still landed. A nearby device stimulated nerve signals, controllable by a remote or by increasing the distance between two Force-powered crystals. Jacen was tortured with the nerve stimulation of this machine while Anakin was subjected to more traditional forms of organic torment.

Jacen then realized that Inferna and Welk were hurting them so that they could lure Jaina to her death. Jacen took that to mean that the war was still going on and that Jaina, and possibly others, were real and credible threats to the Sith. He refused to give in, withstanding everything that Inferna could throw at him, and finally she tried a new tactic: leaving Anakin to slowly die in front of Jacen if he didn't cave.

To prevent Anakin from dying of thirst, Jacen could simply take water to him, but he was in too much physical pain to concentrate and use the Force for precise levitation and telekinesis. And since one of the crystals was in the water container itself, he couldn't take it to Anakin without separating the crystals and turning up the nerve induction device far beyond what even a Jedi could withstand.

Jacen tried anyway, though, and when he got to the point that he couldn't take anymore, he backed up and threw himself forward. This plunged him into a white-hot pain that blurred time and space and threatened to steal his mind, but Jacen stopped fighting it and let it take him over, and when he did that, his mind slowly cleared and he was able to save Anakin, even while terrible agony ripped through him.

Inferna attacked them both when she saw what happened, but Jacen injured her. When she still didn't relent and attempted to kill Anakin, Jacen killed her first. Welk ran away again, leaving behind the cargo area; Jacen and Anakin now had portions of Inferna's ship. It wasn't spaceworthy on its own, but had enough electrical equipment that they could possibly build a communications device, once they felt it was safe to do so.

The nerve device was deactivated when Inferna died, and the mechanisms by which she was powering it are unknown.

[edit] Readjustment

Jaina Solo did come to G0-CVII, shortly after the end of the final battle of the Stellar Imperial War. A treaty was signed on Bastion that ended the conflict once and for all, and Jaina snuck out from Bastion to look for Jacen. Now that the cloud of the Dark Side was lifting, she could use the Force more efficiently to find him; that, coupled with some data she still had from Welk, helped her to locate the planet quickly.

Jacen had mixed feelings about leaving G0-CVII, now that the opportunity was there. He knew that it would be better for him, and that he would better be able to carry out his duties as a Jedi Knight, once he went home. But he also felt guilty for not saving more lives during the war and possibly preventing further atrocities. He didn't take it to heart that he had, in fact, killed one of Empress Shira's top three officials and sent one of the other two running for his life to the Unknown Regions, ultimately to forsake the Sith entirely. He also was uncomfortable with the idea of being around so many other people; with a year with Anakin as his only companion, he had grown emotionally dependent on him, and vice versa. It was very difficult for either of them to get used to interacting with other people and to being apart. Jacen and Jaina remained somewhat close, but his relationships with everyone else - particularly Tenel Ka - suffered. Anakin had, to an extent, replaced her.

Jacen downplayed the way he felt and pretended to have no ill effects from his year of being stranded, except that which he could not hide, such as muscle wasting that had only partly reversed. He spent most of his recovery time with physical training to restore his body, convinced that he was strong enough inside to deal with the psychological damage.

[edit] 29 ABY to 36 ABY

[edit] After the War

Jacen had not been the most social of the Solo children, and this was more marked after he came back from G0-CVII. Eventually, he was able to rebuild his friendship with Tenel Ka, especially when he and Anakin abruptly decided that they should spend more time apart in order to heal more fully and quell rumors. Anakin quickly reattached himself to Dyar Leeds, who was trouble by any measure, although Jacen kept his misgivings about this friendship to himself; he didn't want to appear jealous, although he was, on top of having real concerns.

Jaina married Zekk of Ennth in late 29 ABY. At the wedding, Jacen decided that he'd had enough of his own moping, and he proposed to Tenel Ka. He had been hiding the extent of his mental suffering from her, and she didn't think anything was amiss when he proposed, although Jaina suspected that it might not be a good idea to proceed and Zekk's sister Ingvor Gord was also slightly suspicious of the proclaimed depth of his love.

The next wedding proceeded quickly, and Jacen was married to Tenel Ka in early 30 ABY. Because she was the daughter and heiress of the Queen Mother of Hapes, Teneniel Djo, they lived on Hapes instead of Coruscant, and Jacen was part of the royal family, by marriage.

[edit] Man of Hapes

Jacen did not easily take to life in the Hapan royal court. Hapes was a matriarchal monarchy, very unlike the slightly patriarchal democracy that he had grown up in. As a man, he had no power, and as the husband of the Queen Mother's heiress, he had very little. Tenel Ka often refused to back him up in arguments between him and her grandmother, Ta'a Chume, although she did not support Ta'a Chume, either. Queen Mother Teneniel was less hostile to Jacen than Ta'a Chume was, but even her attitude was one of coolness, and he had little support from anyone except his wife, and then only in private.

He also missed Anakin; now that he was living on another planet many star systems away, they very rarely saw each other, and Jacen found that he didn't feel whole without Anakin nearby. His relationship with Tenel Ka could not replace the strong and deep bond that they had formed, and Jacen withdrew more and more into himself, straining the friendship and making romance nearly impossible.

Jacen and Tenel Ka did not consummate their marriage for some time and it was months after the marriage before Tenel Ka conceived, partly due to lack of opportunity. When their daughter was born, they argued over what to name her, and ultimately settled on the name Allana - the first three letters from either "Allya" or "Allaya," two of Tenel Ka's ancestors on her mother's side, and the last three letters derived from "Anakin." Jacen claimed that the choice was to honor his grandfather, Anakin Skywalker, who had become Darth Vader but turned his back on the Sith and was redeemed at the end of his life. Jacen actually had thought of Anakin Solo first, but decided that the name portion was suitably ambiguous and that naming the child after Anakin Skywalker was not entirely untrue.

The court intrigues and political machinations on Hapes ultimately grew to be too much for Jacen to handle, and his time spent in Jedi service was not what he wanted it to be. Furthermore, he recognized that he had made a mistake in marrying Tenel Ka - he wasn't ready for it, and wasn't sure if and when he would ever be.

[edit] Return to Coruscant

When Allana was two months old, Jacen packed his bags and moved back to Coruscant alone. He and Tenel Ka filed for a divorce, which was quickly honored, and Tenel Ka raised Allana without much of his help. Jacen did keep in touch with Allana, when he could, and after an initial cool period, he found that his friendship with Tenel Ka grew again. While they recognized that they were not well-matched to be a married couple, they did remain good friends, and they both cared much about Allana.

Jacen kept to himself except when on specific Jedi missions, once again spending more time with animals and plants than with people. He resigned himself to losing his relationship with Anakin as well, and he kept his despair at bay only by keeping busy.

[edit] 37 ABY to 42 ABY

[edit] Anakin's Return

In 37 ABY, Ingvor, who was a bounty hunter, finally found Dyar when he was vulnerable, and shot at him outside a cantina on Coruscant. Anakin defended Dyar and Ingvor went away, only mildly injured. However, Anakin and Dyar got into an argument over Anakin's use of Jedi powers, and Dyar left him with a broken nose and many bruises and minor lacerations. Anakin didn't have the emotional strength to fight back, as Dyar had been reinforcing for years that Anakin was a worthless person who had done shameful things that couldn't be erased or atoned for.

Dyar, however, had finally pushed Anakin to the breaking point, and Anakin left the apartment that they shared and severed the friendship. He had nowhere to go, except to his parents or to Jacen, and he chose to crash at Jacen's place for a little while. Jacen immediately agreed to it, hiding how happy he was to see Anakin back, and let him stay as long as he wanted to. In less than a week, their bond was renewed, and both of them were happier than they'd been in a long time. Anakin filled out the necessary forms for getting his own apartment funded by the Jedi Order, but retracted them when he saw how many people in real need were ahead of him on the list. He didn't really want to leave, and Jacen didn't want him to.

[edit] Taking Care of Allana

A newscast aired a few weeks later, telling of the death of Queen Mother Teneniel Djo. Tenel Ka had taken her mother's place on the Hapan throne, and the newscaster also reported that Allana had died along with her grandmother. Grief-stricken, Jacen blamed himself, claiming he should have stayed on Hapes to protect Allana. He drank himself sick and was in the 'fresher when a visitor came to the door.

The visitor was Prince Isolder, Tenel Ka's father, and he had Allana with him. He explained - mostly to Anakin, as Jacen was very intoxicated and claiming to be ill, although it didn't fool Isolder - that he and Tenel Ka conspired to fake Allana's death following the real death of Teneniel, to protect Allana, and that Tenel Ka wanted Allana to be hidden on Coruscant, in Jacen's care. This would keep her away from the influence of her great-grandmother Ta'a Chume, and would keep her safe from further assassination attempts.

The first weeks were very difficult for all of them, but especially Jacen and Allana. Allana declared that she didn't want to live with Jacen, and it was obvious that she had become extremely spoiled while living in the palace. She complained about the decor, the small apartment, and various smells. At one point, she tried to trick Anakin into taking her back to Hapes. He refused, but she still insisted that she would rather be Anakin's child than Jacen's.

Jacen did everything he could to appease Allana. He spent the last of his savings on furniture for her, even though he badly needed new furniture himself. He also purchased a cleaning droid so that the apartment could be kept closer to Allana's preferred cleanliness standards. He had no way, though, of extending her wardrobe - Allana wore fine silks and cloth made from strands of precious metals and even tiny woven gemstone threads, and owned fifty outfits. His hope was that her tastes would change by the time she outgrew her clothes.

Allana very slowly adjusted. The changes were small at first; she tried new foods and decided that they were acceptable, and she understood the reasons that she had to pretend that she wasn't really a princess. She downgraded her clothes to high-end clothing that was found in common shops on Coruscant, at least for everyday, and eventually agreed to be enrolled in the Jedi Academy on Coruscant, which was for students too young to be educated on Yavin IV. Jacen helped her through her transitionary period, and the Hapan ways slowly lost their hold on his daughter.

[edit] Separate Peace

In 38 ABY, though, the Solo family became divided, and would not begin serious reparations for another ten years. It was the thirtieth anniversary of Han and Leia's wedding, and they hosted a dinner event that would include the entire family. Luke Skywalker, his wife Mara Jade Skywalker and their son Ben were unable to attend because Luke and Mara were negotiating a peace settlement between two factions on Commenor. Jaina and Zekk did go, with their two children Nilla and Verayan. Ingvor also went with them, and Jacen and Anakin were to go and bring Allana.

Anakin called Jacen to let him know that he would be several hours late, because there was a sewage leak at the Jedi Temple and it needed to be repaired immediately. Jacen decided to help Anakin, so that they would both only be a little bit late, and told Jaina to pick Allana up and take her to Han's condominium.

The scene that Jacen found when he arrived was one that confused and surprised him. Zekk and Jaina were on their way out, pulling their children along, and all of them looked angry. Ingvor, too, was leaving. Jaina warned Jacen that Han and Leia were seriously considering taking custody of Allana away from him, and then Zekk urged her to hurry up, and she left them to deal with the mess.

Leia felt that the attachment between Jacen and Anakin was unhealthy and that they both obviously were carrying mental problems from their captivity nine years earlier. Han agreed with her, and they wanted to keep Allana and encourage Jacen and Anakin into psychiatric treatment. Jacen held his ground and refused to let them take Allana.

Eventually, Jacen and Anakin were able to allay enough of their parents' concerns that they very reluctantly agreed to let Allana go home with them. However, Han no longer spoke to either Jacen or Anakin, and Leia quietly went along with it.

[edit] 43 ABY

[edit] The Death of Tenel Ka

In 43 ABY, Allana, now twelve, briefly returned to Hapes with a few other Jedi trainees. Shortly after she left, Ingvor visited the Solo brothers with bad news: Ta'a Chume, mother of Prince Isolder and former Queen Mother of Hapes, had called upon several bounty hunters and assassins, including Ingvor, to assassinate Tenel Ka. The three of them notified Jaina and immediately left for Hapes.

Boba Fett got there at about the same time the Jedi did. There was a brief aerial battle, in which the Hapan palace was badly damaged, and Ingvor was separated from Jacen and Anakin. She regrouped with Jaina, Zekk, and the children, helping them all get on Jaina's ship, while Jacen and Anakin picked up Tenel Ka and Allana. However, their ship had a hull breach and they couldn't fly it, so Anakin landed, and the three Jedi Knights prepared to meet Boba Fett.

Tenel Ka injured Fett on the ground, and everybody ran towards Jaina's ship to escape. Fett, however, shot and killed Tenel Ka before they could get on board; she was in the process of handing Allana up to Jacen when she was shot. He didn't survive, but his objective was completed. Nothing Jacen said or did made Allana feel better, and once back on Coruscant, he left her alone for a little while. He did, however, pressure her to return to Hapes, since there was no one left to rule but Ta'a Chume and Isolder's second wife, Loralia. Ta'a Chume was a ruthless woman an Loralia was an assassination target if she took the throne. Allana didn't outright reject or accept Jacen's assertion that she should go home, although it was clear that she didn't want to go.

[edit] Searching for Allana

Jacen got up the next morning to find that Allana was gone, and that she'd left a note stating that she was safe but could not go back to Hapes, and so she decided to try to make it on her own. This alarmed Jacen, because Allana was only twelve and had been in the care of either her Hapan family or himself for her entire life.

He suspected that she might be going to Dathomir, and Ingvor later confirmed this when she said that Allana had tried to mind-trick her and get her to fly Allana to Dathomir. When that failed, though, Allana shot Ingvor with a stun blaster and stole her ship.

Anakin went ahead to Dathomir while Jacen tried to find another transport. He couldn't borrow the Millennium Falcon and neither Jaina nor Zekk were nearby to let him borrow one of Jaina's ships. Eventually, he was able to rent one, and he quickly flew out to Dathomir.

His worst fear never came about; Allana had reached the planet and even managed to get to her mother's family, the Singing Mountain clan, no worse for wear. However, Augwynne, the leader of the clan (and Allana's great-great grandmother) was only minimally hospitable to Jacen, and only because of his relationship with Tenel Ka, which had, except for a short period, been good, even after the divorce. Jacen was guaranteed to stay free as long as he didn't leave the grounds of Singing Mountain; on Dathomir, men could easily be enslaved by women, especially the Force-trained Dathomiri witches, and Jacen, as a Jedi Knight, would be a particularly special prize for any strong witch. But because he was close to Tenel Ka, Augwynne granted him a rare measure of freedom; it did not extend beyond the clan. Furthermore, Augwynne refused to help him free Anakin, who had been captured by a witch of the Fire Island clan.

[edit] Trouble on Dathomir

Jacen left for the Fire Island area anyway, hoping that he would somehow be able to help Anakin escape. Anakin, however, was gone, a captive of the Nightsisters, who had raided the Fire Island clan grounds. He also found that Welk was there, and that the woman who captured Anakin was the daughter of Welk and Darth Inferna, now grown. She attacked Jacen when she discovered that Jacen was the one who had killed her mother, but Welk and his grandmother were able to calm her down enough that she simply stormed away.

The clans eventually had to band together and deal with the growing threat from the Nightsisters; furthermore, it was decided that any man who fought with them and killed two or more Nightsisters would earn his freedom, at least temporarily. Jacen went with the witches and when they got to the Nightsisters' headquarters, an ancient, large freighter that had crashed on Dathomir generations earlier, he broke inside in search for Anakin.

Once the battle started, though, Anakin found it easy to get out of his bindings, and it was he who found Jacen. The two of them fought together until the battle was over, and when it ended, the Nightsisters were defeated. Most of them died; a few went into exile to cleanse themselves of the Dark Side.

Welk's daughter Desa, however, refused to let Anakin go, and Jacen had to appease her by giving her Inferna's lightsaber crystal. She accepted this as payment for Anakin, and Jacen's next move was to free him from slavery. Then Jacen and Anakin formed a legal agreement that would allow them to share property and also share custody of Allana once they got back to Coruscant.

[edit] 44 ABY and Beyond

Jacen and Han finally started talking to each other again after Allana reached the rank of Jedi Knight and was formally Knighted in a ceremony that also included the graduation of Verayan. Jacen had finally learned to live without overstressing himself, and Han had come to terms with the fact that his sons needed each other and were happier and healthier together than apart, even if it did cause gossip.

Jacen became a Jedi Master shortly thereafter and trained a few other Jedi into Knighthood over his later years.
