The Hammer-class Star Destroyer was the most numerous Star Destroyer of the Sith Order of Decreto throughout the Sith Crusade, Successors War, Octom War and Caedus Wars.
Characteristics[]
Like many other Sith starships, the Hammer-class had a long, narrow, dagger-shaped hull; however, it also had four large columns surrounding a central one that protruded from below and a small, flat bridge structure in front of the columns on its dorsal side.
The Sith troopers, who used such vessels as their carriers, were given the initial training inside vessels of this class. Training rooms and weapon production lines filled the interior and four large downward-facing hangars were capable of receiving Galactica-class troop carriers.
It was equipped with enough weaponry to destroy a Nebula-class Star Destroyer single handedly.
History[]
Much like it sister ship, the Decreto-class, the Hammer-class was originally a Star Destroyer in the planning phase at the time of the Second Corellian Insurrection. Darth Abeonis, who was, at the time, in the process of pacifying the feuding Sith Lords following Guerreiro's death; realised the potential such a ship had for his new fleet, and order his apprentice, Darth Adsec to steal the plans, and destroy the prototype.
Following the successful theft of the plans, Adsec destroyed the prototype by placing sequencer charges throughout certain exhaust ports within the ship and escaped back to The Soiyo.
By the time of the outbreak of war in 59 ABY the Hammer-class had become the third most numerous Sith warship (just behind the Privateer-class corvette and the Krayt-class capital ship). It continued to serve in the Sith fleet up until the end of the Caedus Wars.
