Hammer was an ARC trooper captain during the Clone War and was one of the last remaining clones from that conflict. Originally the youngest member of Rancor Battalion, he participated in the Battle of Kamino and survived, unlike his comrades named Colt and Havoc. The other member of the battalion that survived the Raid on Kamino, Blitz, was killed in action in 6 ABY, leaving Hammer the last of his squad. Having not been part of any military alliance since the downfall of the Galactic Republic at the end of the Clone War, Hammer went on to serve in the Occult Regime's military logistics as a commodore, helping distribute food, water, and supplies to citizens who pledged their allegiance to that government.

Early Life[]
Born on the aquatic world of Kamino, Hammer proved himself to be a worthy soldier as he was instantly granted the promotion of advanced recon commando and wore experimental phase two clone armor. He was also granted the rank of captain during the years of the Clone War. After his promotions, Hammer would help oversee cadet training in Tipoca City with high hopes those cadets would be fit to see battle someday.
Mission to Rugosa[]
In 21 BBY, Hammer and the rest of Rancor Battalion was sent to the jungle moon of Rugosa by Jedi Master Shaak Ti in an effort to take down what they originally believed to be a CIS occupation with massive weaponry.
