On IRC, several community members have discussed policies to be implemented concerning the Featured Articles, Good Articles, and Decretion Lords. This is our conclusion:

The first step to making an article featured is to nominate it in the Good Articles nominations page. You CANNOT nominate it to be featured until it is labeled as a "good article."
The community votes on the nominations, and whether they can be considered "good." The general user populace will be informed and enlightened by a Good Article board, similar to the Decretion Lords, but in the end, it is the votes of the community that determine whether the article is a "good" one.
1. Please note that the Good Article board does not have the final say in the promotion of the article. Its task is to provide constructive criticism and praise for every article to better help typical voters in the community to decide how well the article complies with standards.
Once the article is considered "good," the Decretion Lords can review the article. If the Decretion Lords vote on the article and the result includes all five members voting, with no oppositions, the article is approved to be featured and moved onto the queue.

Additional amendments to this policy may be included in the future, but not without consensus.

The Good Article board needs a name, so I suppose we can propose names here.

If anyone heartily disagrees with this new policy, a vote may be set up to reject this new rule.

Sounds good to me. Will the Selection of Featured Articles rules apply to this in anyway as they're both along the same sort of track. Also, how are we going to decide on the members of the board? Will it be a community vote or an admin descicion? (I don't know how we did DL; I missed that bit). — Pahvulti

- Great idea! As I said before on the talk page of the GA page I would like to become a part of the Good Article Board, but I guess that's not for me to decide. At the IRC meet, we decided that it will be chosen if it meets the manual of style, good name, images, well written, etc... The Board was temporarilly chosen but will probally be, Current Big Thing, Brandon Rhea, Gnosis is knowledge, JediMaster76, and me (Darth tader). Hope that helps a bit. Tader^Talk

I think it sounds good. We would have a little bit of a cushion, since the DL reviews can find fault with an article. But if it's been judged as good, there would be less things like that. (Talk to me) (My work)(Become a Jedi) 11:58, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

  - Why would we do that when neither of you are on the board? Jasca is a DL and he created the Sith Order of Decreto, hence Decreton Lords. It's a name that stems from something that a member of the board created. - Brandon Rhea 23:21, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

A confederation is actually a system of government in which individual states or provinces are given nearly all lawmaking power for their own territory, though the numerous states are part of a single nation. Well, the name Confederate Senate won't be used anyway, since Rhea protested. All five of the members of the GA board must agree to a name. --Victor (talk)

Okay, this section is for the members of the board to discuss possibilities for the name of our board. After BRIEFLY looking through the articles of all the members of the board, a few that caught my eye are as follows:

The Subjugators (from Subjugation by JM76)
The Ascendancy (from New Chiss Ascendancy by JM76)
The High Priests (from Bendu Order by me)

A recommendation Rhea, from me, is that you don't put "good articles" in there. For example, only the Subjugators or only the Ascendancy or the High Priests. but it's up to you board members. --Victor (talk)

Is this really needed?[]

Is this policy really necessary? I mean, it doesn't really change a whole lot. To become an FA w/ this policy, an article has to be approved by the community(becoming a GA), and then be approved by the DL. That's pretty much how it is now. There are a few differences, but not very many. Pinky49 ^Talk

I see this actully as usefull, there will be alot less half made articles and alot more good articles to vote for... it will make voting harder though... hmmmm ^{talk to the Swerto | What I've Done}
