The insignia of the Prætors
Prætor was the rank of the leader of the Centran Armed Forces and the highest attainable rank within the entity. The incumbent holder of the rank held command over all branches—the navy, army and special forces—of the Centran military and controlled the units from the High Command's fortified base on the planet Tund, guarded by a detachment of the special forces.
The rank was as old as the Centrality itself, dating back to the formation of the government in 1,800 BBY through a Hutt–Republic treaty. The administrative functions and powers of Prætors changed little over the next two millennia until it was reduced to a purely representative position during the reign of the Galactic Empire and its de facto colonization of the Centrans. Following the crippling of the Empire in 4 ABY and the subsequent withdrawal, the rank was restored to its original status.
