Arti was a very hot planet. Basically, the planet was like Mustafar, but with a Sith, Artian and Human populace. It was considered a boring planet because lava surfing was the only sport there. The races died in the New Republic era, right before the Yuuzaan Vong War. They were all killed by the heat of the lava. Three-fourths of the population could control the Force, which was how they lived so long.
