Ejif Wetel
The Star Wars wiki of fan invention.
Ejif Wetel was a powerful Seroccan crimelord who carved out a niche in the city of Nar Shaddaa as the leader of the Burning Hand criminal organization. Always looking for an edge on the competition, he had various "Force Simulation" devices implanted into his body enabling him to simulate the use of the Force in an attempt to convince others that he was a Sith.
[edit] History
[edit] Early Life
As a boy, Ejif Wetel was orphaned by the attack on Serocco during the Mandalorian War. Like many other Seroccans, he ended up in the Refugee Sector of Nar Shadaa. He eventually fell in with one of the many small gangs that plagued the sector, making a living of sorts as a petty thug. Everything changed for him one night when he had a strange dream. In his dream, a mysterious woman stood over him, placed her hand upon his chest, and pronounced, "You shall be more than this." He watched as her hand turned red hot, and was jolted awake just before feeling his flesh burn. Instinctively, he reached out for his dagger and lunged - and was surprised when the blade became buried in the throat of a member of one of the rival factions. As it turned out, his gang's camp was about to be raided by the rival gang. He raised the alarm, and thanks to him, the rivals were driven out. He then led the other members of his gang as they followed the rivals back to their territory and slaughtered them.
[edit] Rise of the Burning Hand
Following the successful counter-attack against their rivals, Wetel was subsequently lauded as a hero, and shot up through the ranks. However, he soon grew restless. The leader at that time, Delar Apon, had very little ambition, and was content to let the gang subsist on the profits of petty extortion, theft, and low-quality spice. Wetel observed how the bigger players, like the Hutts and the Exchange operated, and suggested to Apon that their gang imitate those models. Apon declined to follow this suggestion, fearing that competition with the bigger fish would disrupt a lifestyle with which he had become comfortable. Wetel thus gathered his fellow gang members together and revolted. In the ensuing conflict, Apon and the few who remained loyal to him were killed, and Wetel took over. He then gave the previously unnamed gang a name - the Burning Hand, after the hand from his dream - and thus, his syndicate was born.
