The Droid Wars was a Galactic conflict between the Empire and the New Republic.

At the end of the Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker (who had become Darth Vader) ordered the Trade Federation to shut down their droids, and told the Genosians to end their production. Both obeyed. About 50 years later, the New Republic found and reactivated the Droid Army. The war itself started with the Mass Migration, when many Jedi turned to the Dark Side. The war's first battle was at Kessel, where Jerolee the Hutt killed Toneka the Jedi Knight, earning the Empire a Victory. The war ended at Mustafar. After the war's end, the Dark Jedi fled to Wild Space.
